We as a family enjoyed our week long stay as the house was even better than described and very quiet which made sleeping very nice after a long day in the small towns/wine country. The kitchen was fully stocked, the bedrooms very comfortable, the bathrooms quite clean and the location is truly breathtaking. The surroundings and the garden in full bloom made our experience even more enjoyable as it was a pleasure having morning coffee with amazing Tuscan hill views. Would definitely recommend to family, friends and would stay there again in a heartbeat. Grazie a Presto

We were a group of 4 adults and 3 kids (4-6 years old). We booked to celebrate together new year's eve. The house was clean and comfortable. The heating system was functional and working perfectly fine. The rooms were spacious; the beds were quite comfortable. The kitchen was well supplied and functional. Missing the oven, in case you might need it. The area is quiet and beautiful. Close (~10/15 minutes by car) to supermarkets, restaurants, etc... Overall, a great experience and would definitely recommend the place.

Simply amazing! Fantastic location on top of the hill gives you both privacy and quiet place to relax as well as breathtaking views. Its a short walk in the forest to the closest town and also rather quick car rides to cities like Siena, Florence or the coast. Thomas is such a nice person, always happy to help and full of knowledge about Tuscany but also other places so every conversation with him was great. Thank you and we will definitely be back

We chose Il Sole del Sodo because it had 6 en-suite rooms, a pool, was close to a town and a train station and had a well- regarded host who could provide extras like breakfast, dinners, cooking classes and olive oil tastings e.g. Claudia! While rustic, the villa’s charm and peaceful spaces draw you right in and Claudia’s hospitality is unsurpassed. The villa fronts to the road to Cortona and backs to a field of sunflowers. Our family and friends dined on the private patio and found a back way to walk up to Cortona for exercise. A unique and wonderful experience!

What a great place and what a free host. We loved our stay in this great home. It is in a fabulous location with beautiful views into the Val D’Orcia and within a few minutes walk to San Quirico and all the great amenities of the medieval village and supermarket etc. The house itself is very well appointed with all the goodies you need to have a great stay. And Tommaso is a fantastic host, very responsive and very thoughtful. He even put a Christmas tree up for us.

A beautiful place, immersed in the hilly countryside of Casentino. A renovated building with great care and taste in which you can breathe the history of the owner and his art. Prawns, trees, shrubs, water mirrors, and a beautiful garden are the setting for all this. In addition, you have the impression that you are guests of a friend and not customers of an accommodation facility. On my behalf, I'll definitely be back.

We loved staying at Bernardino’s villa. It was a fabulous place for our two families to meet up and spend some time together in Tuscany. Bernardino is an experienced and responsive host. The location was great, the immediate town (Gaiole in Chianti) was sweet and we could easily get to Florence, Siena, and Arezzo. The 20 minutes or so leading up to the town are best driven for your first time in daylight hours, as the roads are fairly windy along the hills. The 400 metres leading up to the villa are a little steep. Our rented mid sized SUV took it fine, but our friends had a lower slung car them at found it a bit trickier. This is not a reason to avoid this lovely place, just noting it fyi.
