Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Bedford County

Thank you for an amazing stay, Marc! Your home is amazing, and it was the perfect weekend getaway to celebrate our son’s 21st birthday. We had plenty of space for everyone and especially enjoyed hanging out on the upper level of the dock. We will definitely be back!

Stephen's house was exactly what my family needed for a relaxing long weekend to be together. The house suited our needs extremely well with so many places to gather but also comfy spaces to curl up and read or take a nap. The deck overlooked the beautiful yard and view of the water with plenty of seating for all of us. The sunroom was enjoyable from morning til late at night, listening to the owls. The kitchen was well stocked and large enough for multiple cooks. My adult children enjoyed kayaking several times, especially since the house is tucked away from the main part of the lake, so we had very little water traffic. We only ventured out once to visit some wineries and pick up a pizza, preferring to just stay and enjoy the setting, although there was information about things to do in the area. This was our first of hopefully many visits to SML and I don't think we'll bother to search for a different house. We're already talking about our next time there!

Jessi’s Air bnb exceeded my expectations! The house its self was beautiful, and the inside was very well kept up! The back deck made the perfect lounging area, as well as the boat dock! We enjoyed lots of sunshine at the dock! Jessi’s communication was amazing, checking in on us, keeping up to date and her response time made questions answerable within minutes! The location of the house is 15 minutes from restaurants which made it very accessible! The house is perched back into a cove, which made it very peaceful and relaxing! I would highly recommend Jessi’s air bnb!

We had an amazing time at this beautiful property! The location on the water was absolutely perfect, offering stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. We especially loved the outdoor areas, which were perfect for relaxing and chatting together. Whether it was morning coffee or evening conversations, the outdoor spaces made our stay extra special. Highly recommend this place for a serene and memorable getaway!

We loved our stay! The house was pristine and had all the extras we might need: laundry detergent, extra toothbrushes & coffee. The beds were comfortable and the neighborhood was quiet. There was even a friendly neighborhood cat that greeted us. It was the perfect stay for our weekend touring Liberty University.

Cozy home that fit our family perfectly! Close to LU and all the spots we love to visit when we are in Lynchburg. Would definitely stay again!

Great location and beautiful views of the lake. During the day we took advantage of the boat house/dock and in the evenings we relaxed outside by the fire pit. The house was very roomy with several places to entertain and relax. The property was close to several bars/restaurants and a grocery store. would highly recommend this property for a family vacation

The home was beautiful and the amenities were great. The kitchen was fully stocked with supplies and spices. The home was very clean and very cozy. There is a neighboring town about 15 minutes away, so there were plenty of food and grocery options. It is a perfect remote get away.

The apartment is very comfortable and cozy feeling. Beautiful, peaceful surroundings. The kitchen and bathroom were both well stocked with anything we might need. Very nice outdoor sitting and eating area as well. We had such a relaxing time!

Quick but sweet trip to visit with my LU freshman. Anna and Nate's place was less than 10 minutes from campus. Their place was perfect for my husband and I. Will definitely stay again!

Would highly recommend for a quiet, relaxing weekend. This was a repeat stay, and everything was just as nice as the last time. Quick communication with Gwendolyn was appreciated, and everything we needed was available or offered.

Staying with Mr Jane was a pleasure. The location was perfect, the apartment was cozy and spotless. The place was well-equipped and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. This is a peaceful downstairs apartment with private entry and beautiful backyard with swimming pool. Mrs Jane was always available to answer our questions. unforgettable experience! I stayed at Brianna’s for a work trip and it was perfect! The bed was comfy, the space was clean and had everything I needed!

Very nice cabin. Everything was clean. Comfortable beds. Hot tub was great after hikes. We enjoyed our stay very much.

This place was just great. Pulling up the mountain to the cabin we just weren't ready for just how great the view was. Visiting at the end of April, the cabin is a great space to just feel secure while sleeping. We did everything out doors, and regret nothing. I'd love to come back in the Fall/early winter months to experience the inside a bit more, not that we couldn't have, but the outdoor temperatures were perfect, and there were very few bugs to bother us. Everything inside that we needed was situated well and with intention. We very much enjoyed our stay, definitely one of our top experiences for that off grid, self reliance feel.

Melba's little cabin is amazing. Don't just stay somewhere nice, stay somewhere unique and wonderful! From the custom details in the house to the adorable animals just across the fence (especially the little pig), this cabin was a heartwarming, peaceful experience we'll never forget. Close to great dining, too and of course Smith Mountain Lake. Thank you, Melba and family. We hope to come back.

Visiting from Virginia Beach with our daughters, one at JMU and one at Virginia Tech, and with family from PA.  The fall color was gorgeous!  Enjoyed the lantern ghost tour and October illumination of the Natural Bridge. We had lunch at Natty B's Cafe and visited Cave Mountain Lake where we saw lot's of wildlife.  We loved the fire pit and everything about this cabin.  You have done an amazing job creating the perfect weekend get away spot.  Thank you!

This was a beautiful cabin in the woods!! There was a great vintage feel with many modern amenities!! I loved the fresh eggs and my husband loved cooking on the vintage stove and grilling outside. We enjoyed the horseshoes and frisbee golf after a wonderful hike. We then soaked our aching muscles in the hot tub. We enjoyed eating outside on the porch next to a scenic view with a creek listening to the birds. We did not utilize the fire pit area but we do plan to go back. It is perfectly located nearby to some beautiful hikes and historic Roanoke!!

The host is exceptional. Very responsive and accommodating. We enjoyed the time we spent in this rustic setting. The alpaca's we so gentle and fun to watch. For peaceful getaway this airbnb is perfect.

This tiny house is the perfect getaway for a family! It truly is peaceful and away from everything! It was clean and had everything we needed! This was our second time staying here and we will be back! Make sure you are prepared to drive deep into the mountain and on unpaved roads. It’s all worth it for the true peace you get. We enjoyed Natural Bridge, the Safari park and even a swimming hole while there. Everything is about 40-45 minutes away but it’s just because of getting out of the mountain and doesn’t feel too far away. Perfect for people who want to feel like they are camping but with the amenities I need.

We had an amazing time staying at Beatrice’s beautiful property! The cabin itself was exactly as described/shown in the photos with everything labeled clearly inside. Beatrice supplied everything you could possibly need for a relaxing getaway and even gave a basket of treats and wine for us! We felt right at home and loved the serenity of the property with the running stream nearby and the wonderful mountain view.
