Chalet vacation rentals in Bad Hofgastein

The three of us (one adult and two teenagers) spent a wonderfully relaxing week here. Christoph is a great and uncomplicated host who responds very promptly to questions. The cottage itself is exactly as described. The journey is via a narrow path (on which two riders met us upon our arrival, which led to a not so easy "reverse driving action"). Behind the house, a stream splashes, but you can't hear it with the windows closed (although I'm quite sensitive to noise), in front of the house, a hiking trail passes by that we used for two tours ("Hochebene Maria Elend - Kapelleralm Runde von Embach" and "Spektakulärer Skywalk - Taxenbach-Wasserfall Runde von Taxenbach" ... just check Komoot). The mountain golf course (clubs and balls are available in the information office in the village) is also fun. Culinary, the pizzeria Langreiter is highly recommended. The only sticking point: the bunk bed for people > 1.90 m.

This was our second stay at Tatjana’s beautiful house and we loved it. Thank you. The location is picturesque and the house is fantastically equipped to ensure your alpine holiday, is wonderful. Combine that with the great ski areas of Sport Gastein and Bad Gastein; perfect! Thank you again Tatjana and for the delicious strudel. XxX

We chose Bernhard's house for a meeting of three families with children from different places. We couldn't have chosen better. Bernhard's property absolutely suited us with its size, location, and amenities, thanks to which we spent valuable time with friends. The property completely matched the description and nothing from the description was missing. Moreover, Bernhard communicated very proactively and promptly answered any questions we had. There are many hiking trails of various difficulties in the area. It is definitely a place we would like to return to. Certainly, they will return to the area in winter for great skiing.

Great family home in an absolutely beautiful location. The home is well appointed, large, comfortable, and private with unbelievable views all around. Milian was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We’d gladly stay here again!

Great choice for bigger groups

A great place to stay. Impressive scenery ideal for rest and relaxation. Great hiking opportunities. Although I was there in February and there was still some snow, my fellow travelers and I decided to climb the nearby mountain. Was a bit difficult and partly dangerous but the view from the very top was even more fantastic than from the chalet itself. Very recommended.

A really wonderful stay for adults and children. Excellent facilities and very stylishly decorated. We were worried as we couldn’t see the kitchen/dining space properly in the photos but it is more than spacious enough for 10 with an adjoining outside terrace with stunning views. Amazing things to do, lots within 10 mins. Lovely restaurants nearby. Best to have a car to be able to di everything. We loved it. Would love to return!

We had a wonderful stay and a great weekend. The hiking trails are fantastic, the locals are super nice. The hosts helped us with all questions and responded quickly. Simply super!

Great place. We had a great time.

We were two couples (old friend for 45 years) using the Haus and stayed over Christmas and New Year. The location and the mountain views are magical, perfect to relax. It is remote and driving to town takes 20 to 30 minutes depending on the road condition (snow and winding mountain road). So stock up and relax :)

Great, modern accommodation, excellent natural location and very well equipped. We plan to come back!

Our group had a lovely time, perfect getaway ski trip. The house is as advertised, very clean, great views and is in pristine condition overall. The hosts were very nice and helpful throughout our stay whenever we needed to reach out to them. There's plenty of slopes near by to choose from, one within walking distance but a car is recommended to have around even tho there are ski busses. Some shops and restaurants are nearby incl ski rentals. Overall a great experience in a lovely location with great hosts. We'll probably try to come back in the future as an even bigger group.

The house are beautiful and well located. You have light all day! We were there as a team for an offsite (4 people) and it was perfect for that. The large table under the high ceiling invited you to think, the view to wander. Would also love to come again privately. Inside, everything is super modern (sound system, kitchen, bathrooms, sauna) and outside there are beautiful seating areas on 2 terraces. You are right next to the forest, where you can also hike small laps. For larger ones, however, you would have to drive a short distance to get to the hiking trails (as far as I could see). Please note the opening hours of the huts! In total, there are 2 bathrooms, 1 of which has a toilet and an additional toilet. 2 living rooms (1 for nice sitting and the other for cozy TV evenings, both totally large), 1 great, open kitchen with dining area. Two of the five bedrooms are larger, 3 are basic with bed and shelves. 5/5 stars in all possible categories!

The chalet was very nice, clean and well furnished. The beds are very comfortable.  In particular, the terrace with meadow and fenced property was optimal for us and our dogs. The playground and the various animals are great fun for our little one. We were able to choose breakfast according to our wishes and was very rich. Only the price for only 2 adults and an infant was very high. All in all but a top recommendation!

Andrea and her husband's place is a beautiful old house equipped with every modern comfort. The house has everything you need, is cozy and gives a warm feeling. The beautiful stove/oven in the kitchen is easy to make with the wood made available for this purpose and provides a cozy warmth in the kitchen. The indoor sauna and relaxation area is a winner, after skiing is highly recommended. The bedrooms are furnished with beautiful painted closets and have a private bathroom. What stands out are the many works of art hanging on the walls, very nice to see. The museum village where the house is located is very peaceful and quiet and is about 8 minutes drive from Bad Gastein, we have always gone by car, but there is also a bus service. The contact with Andrea was pleasant. As far as we are concerned, this house is highly recommended

The place is beautiful! Great location and great chalet. Everything was really great. The only thing that irritated us a little was the check in and out times. Check-in is only from 4 pm.. whereby we could only arrive later due to work anyway, but check out 10 o'clock, is quite sporty.. Had this, not really on the screen and slept, then I contacted the host and explained that we slept in and would only check out around 10:30. 10:25 a man knocks on and goes to the chalet to clean the hot tub without further words. No hello or goodbye. Of course, you would have to pay attention to the times yourself when booking, which has gone down with us. Nevertheless, everything else was great and I can definitely recommend the place!

The accommodation was really great. Super kid friendly and great location. There is another house between the house and the lake, but there is still direct access to the lake. It's also really great and great cooling in the summer. The owners are always available and available in the restaurant next door (this is also highly recommended!).

It was a wonderful stay. We were there with 4 people and a dog. The place is very clean, the beds and towels were fresh and washed. 🫧 We liked the sauna in the bathroom best, which was extremely easy to use and the perfect relaxation after long days of hiking. 😍 The view (directly onto the reservoir with the mountains around) as well as the privacy was just as beautiful. However, you have to accept that the nearest supermarket, etc., is 17 km away. But we would take this over and over again for such a great place to stay.🥹 The house has everything you need.🤗 The communication was also great, as was the descriptions. There is no even better price-performance ratio. Thank you for this lovely getaway.❤️

Nice place for holiday close to cableway. We had a good time here.

The cottage was easily accessible. Check-in and check-out are very straightforward. Unfortunately we had very bad weather, but when we entered the house it was nice and warm and very comfortable. That is why we enjoyed staying indoors and enjoyed our time there. Each room had its own bathroom with toilet, which is really great. Overall, we had a great stay. Absolutely recommended.

Our stay at the Steinbock was a complete success. The place was clean, cozily furnished and equipped with everything you need. We especially liked the quiet location with the wonderful view – perfect for relaxing. The hosts were very friendly, helpful and always easily accessible. We immediately felt welcome. The area also offers many great opportunities for hiking and exploring. We will be happy to come back!

We were lucky enough to take a week of winter vacation in Charlet Kreuzkogel. Already when we entered the house, we all felt very comfortable. The sauna of the fireplace and the quiet just outside location, made our stay perfect. Everything is within walking distance and was just ideally located for us with two dogs. We will be happy to come back next year.

We really liked the Steinbock Lodge as a group of 8 people! You are accommodated in a picturesque landscape where you can hike extremely well and where a lot can be discovered on your own 🏔️ We found it wonderfully quiet and relaxing to be in the small town away from the city, as you could really enjoy nature there. The amenities were as indicated and shown in the pictures - we felt right at home 🏠 The furnishings and features (such as underfloor heating or pellet stove) were a very big plus. Even with 8 people, we had no major problems with the bathroom layout, as 3 were available. Technically, everything is really up to date (down to the small details such as the labeled switches, drawers, etc.) with still rustic, cozy interior. We definitely recommend the place and will also be happy to come back!
