The apartment is private, and has all the amenities. It is located in the tourist area, just one block from the lagoon. You can easily walk to public swimming pools, beach clubs, and restaurants. It is very easy to get around by bicycle, scooter, and car. It should be noted that the apartment has Netflix and private parking. Visit downtown Bacalar and its shops quickly, as the distance is only 5 minutes away.

The space on the lagoon is peaceful and private from other properties. There are two other units on the property, with whom access to the lagoon is shared. 5 stars for the hosts’ flexibility and willingness to accommodate our changing schedule. The place is as described, and as noted by others: a good pad to explore Bacalar and not a long term stay option, per se. Everything was clean and worked well. The parking is behind a secure gate, and everything feels safe about the location. A nice walk into the town that takes you past a lot of “real Bacalar”.

Chic apartment in Aldea Mayab, with Lagoon access

I enjoyed staying at Sergio's Airbnb. This was a truly amazing experience. Although there is construction around (not in the apartment itself), that doesn't take anything away from the magic of the place, because it is literally in the most beautiful area of the entire Bacalar Lagoon. You have direct access to the lagoon, and during our stay we were the only ones there. Seeing the stars from the pier was simply spectacular. The place conveys a peace that is hard to find. I fell in love so much, that I'm buying a property right next door — that special was the experience. I have visited the Lagoon of the Seven Colors many times, but this one was undoubtedly the most magical. The apartment was spotless, clean, out of the noise, and surrounded by nature. If this Airbnb is available, don't think about it - please book it as soon as possible. I am sure that very soon it will become one of the most requested accommodations in Bacalar.

Adriana's accommodation met all our needs as a small family (two adults and a 7-year-old): clean, quiet, relatively well-equipped kitchen. Even without a vehicle it was perfect. We could reach the lagoon on foot in about twenty minutes or take a taxi (for 30 pesos for example to go to Parque Ecológico). There is a supermarket with a lot of choices right next door or a large grocery store as well as a pharmacy within a 3-minute walk. In short, if you are looking for a quiet place to stay on a budget with family or friends, this place is perfect!
