Shepherds hut vacation rentals in Ashford District

The shepherds hut and the location was perfect for us. We have loved the peaceful nature surrounding us. The owner, Chris was helpful and we got all the instructions that helped us to find some closeby experienced when we needed.

molly dishwasher is in an absolutely stunning location the pictures don't do justice to how stunning this place is your surrounded by the most beautiful views in the most peaceful location, me and my family had the most amazing 2 nights staying here and the little personal touches added on top just make it that much more special, moppy is an amazing host and let the boys help feed the animals on the last night which they absolutely loved, there is another hut on site but you cant see them so you have amazing privacy. I can see why lots of people who stay here are on there 7th visit as its a place you'll want to re visit after staying. we will defiantly be back soon, thank you for an amazing stay.

I would recommend skylark to anyone looking for some peace. I went alone. I felt completely safe. I knew the farm house was close by but I also had complete privacy so i was able to fully relax. Having the fire pit was wonderful. I used it every evening and sat under the stars. I loved having my own kitchen and bathroom. Moppy was always responsive. I needed more logs and they arrived promptly. She left plenty of food in the fridge. Eggs. Bacon. Sausages. Croissant. Muesli.Milk. Butter. Good coffee etc. I didn't want fro anything at all. Moppy even took me to the train station on my return. A lovely woman and a lovely family.Thanks, Moppy

My husband and I had a great stay at the Shepherds Hut. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, and relaxed with a nice Barbeque ( which was provided!). The highlight was lighting the fire pit in the evening and huddling around the flames. Kellie was super helpful, and the kitchen/ bathroom had everything we needed. We would love to come back!

Sue is an amazing host and the hut was exactly what we hoped it would be - a peaceful weekend away with beautiful surroundings. Very functional hut - it had everything you would need. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be looking to come back!

We loved Hannah's place. The hut is exactly like the pictures, really comfy, we felt at home. Hannah is really friendly and helpful. Amazing place for dogs and to connect with nature Definitely we would go back.

The cabin and the wagon were great and a lovely place to relax with cows and sheep grazing in the next field and walks around the farm and surrounding fields. Really thoughtful touches inside the cabin too. Perfect for a bank holiday, thanks a lot!

Had a lovely, peaceful time. The farm is very private and beautiful with lots of wildlife and farm animals. The accommodation itself is very comfortable and felt right at home. Lots of footpaths nearby and the grounds were nice to explore. Check-in was easy, hosts were responsive and helpful. A great trip all-round. Will definitely be back!

If you’re debating on which of the many shepherds huts there are now to choose from, we highly recommend this one if you value privacy, nature and quietness. It’s not one of the massive huts you can find but it has everything, my wife and I stayed for three nights but would’ve comfortably stayed for 5 or more. The bed is a double and firm but comfy enough. They provided eco-friendly everything, even loo-roll. You are separated from their gorgeous main house through a whole separate field. You have your own open space area with connected woods and walks. In this area alone you may find deer, birds, rabbits and more. A huge selling point is the area. You are in the High Weald National Landscape and all its beauty. Check out some of the walks on AllTrails at places like Bedgebury National Pinetum, Scotney Castle and Brede High Woods. This elevated our stay so much and the rest of the time we sat by the fire and played board games/read. You get 3G but we’d say pretend it’s not there.

We had the most amazing weekend getaway! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The space was cozy, clean, and beautifully set up for a relaxing break—and the hot tub was definitely the highlight! What made our stay even more special was our wonderful hostess, Sam. She was incredibly friendly, responsive, and made us feel right at home. From thoughtful little touches to helpful local recommendations, she went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat with all the right vibes and a host who truly cares, look no further!

Sian makes you feel welcome from once you have booked with a welcome pack before we arrived On arrival to the beautiful shepherd hunt there was fresh milk, juice, tea, coffee and home baked cake. The shepherd hunt was comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. Outside there was the very clean separate hot shower and compost toilet with clear instructions to use. In the evening we lit the fire pit to sit outside to enjoy the view and sunset Our dog loved having the enclosed outside space as well as the beautiful walks we went on. Great place to stay 😀

My partner and I stayed here as we had booked a wine tasting at Chapel Down. Hayley and Jenny were so welcoming and friendly. There was a handy map with directions to the vineyard- the walk is beautiful! Little did I know my partner had planned a proposal at Chapel Down, upon hearing about our engagement the hosts couldn’t have been kinder gifting us a bottle of chilled sparkling to celebrate! Our stay was absolutely idyllic. We cannot believe the value for money. The shepherds hut is wonderful and spacious (my partner is 6ft6 and had plenty of head height!). The setting is stunning and we are already planning to visit again.

The shepherd's hut was cozy and well-appointed, and Bridget was incredibly helpful and welcoming. We especially enjoyed the complimentary snacks and breakfast supplies - especially the warm almond croissants delivered to our door in the morning!

We had a lovely stay at Dom’s place. The location is perfect for a couple of days’ break from London, especially if - like us - you don’t drive; it is just a short distance from the station and for a 40 minute journey from zone 1, feels a world away. Dom was very accommodating, especially as we brought our 3 month old baby. The baby enjoyed his first ever swim in the lovely warm pool! And the rest of the amenities/ the hut itself are equally excellent. Would also highly recommend a trip to the Samuel Palmer pub for a pint of locally brewed ale, and the Mount Vineyard for some excellent wines, both of which are a short walk from the hut. Would definitely stay again, thanks Dom!

Perfect escape ideally placed for walking in the Ashdown Forest… lovely accommodation.. Will look to visit again

A lovely place to kick back and relax for a few days, with everything I needed. A nice hot shower, comfortable bed, hob and fridge, and a woodburner. And I even saw deer, geese (complete with goslings), a hare and a badger. Perfect :)

The Goods Truck is tucked away in a secluded spot in the Kent countryside. If you`re looking for somewhere to unwind this is the place to be. Rachael and Ali are very friendly hosts and make it clear they want their guests to be happy and comfortable. Rachael is very good at replying to any queries you may have. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing break.

I found Emma's place by accident when I was looking for somewhere for my husband and I to have a couple of days to reset and switch off. It was exactly what I didn't know I needed. The setting is beautiful, and even the rain sounded so peaceful from inside. It's a perfect little bolthole with everything you need and Emma gave us privacy but made sure to keep in touch to see if we needed anything. We took a lovely walk to Balfour winery for a fizzy pitstop before walking round into Marden for some local lunch and then back to the Hut. Exactly the change of scenery we needed. The little gifts of cookies and strawberries were lovely to discover after an evening arrival and the Hut really is decorated perfectly. Is there anything more peaceful than having a cup of tea in bed looking out onto a sea of Christmas trees, listening to the wildlife. We will definitely be back.

Me and my daughter have just arrived home after a one night stay as a kind of mini hen do and relaxation before my wedding. From the very beginning at the time of booking Charlotte’s communication was spot on and made it very easy for me to make my mind up. The location surrounding amenities and just everything was just perfect. The weather wasn’t great but that didn’t dampen our stay it was so peaceful listening to the rain while we chilled out with our facemasks on and ate our chocolates (courtesy of Charlotte, thank you). The animals are all lovely and great bonus as my daughter is a real animal lover. I will definitely be staying again in the very near future, and I cannot wait. Again guys thank you so much for having us and being such wonderful hosts :) x
