Vacation rentals with a kayak in Asheville

The view of the lake from the large back porch was awesome. A peaceful place to relax and explore the lake on the canoes provided. There was a green egg on site for cooking dinner. I’d highly recommend this location!

We very much enjoyed our stay in this beautiful and spacious A-frame. Beautiful wooded surroundings and lots of natural light in the house. The home is beautiful inside as well with many thoughtful touches. The host was very thoughtful as well and even reached out to let us know we could have late check out because no one was staying the next night. We had a wonderful stay and would love to stay here again sometime!

We had a very peaceful 5-night stay at the house, which was very comfortable. It was clean, well stocked with essentials, and had high quality furniture, bedding, linens and towels. The neighborhood is very quiet and secluded. There was no cell signal for me at the house, but the Wifi was fairly reliable - though a little too slow for uninterrupted streaming of TV shows. One thing that was a little tricky was the lighting situation. Some labels on the light switches might help, as some seemed to do nothing, while other sets of lights (those above the bar, and the outdoor ones by the hot tub) were either broken or had switches we couldn't find. The filtered water from the fridge was also not working, and in the separate "treehouse" building (where the main TV is), the only functional source of heat was a small Dyson space heater.

What a great place. Brought the family for Thanksgiving. Plenty of room for everyone. Saw 4 bucks the day we arrived. We had fires, fished, played games and relaxed. Kitchen is very well stocked. Love the “second” kitchen. It sure helped with Thanksgiving. The whole house is. Thomas is a great host. Don’t hesitate to book. I bet it’s great in the summer.

Wow, I am absolutely blown away! This was such an incredible stay! 🌿🏡 Kevin & Linda are the kindest, most caring, and genuinely loving hosts—you can tell their heart is in everything they do. 💛 The pups were precious, and their sweet old girl, Ruth Ann, even joined us on most of our hikes, which made the experience even more special. 🐾 The home was gorgeous, the bed was super comfy, and the WiFi was fast—but honestly, we LOVED having no service outside the house. It made the trip feel like a true reset from the outside world. And can we talk about that bath?! 😍 Omg, yes please. The hiking trails were incredible, the provided map was crystal clear (with extras just in case), and town was just 35 minutes away—super easy to find based on their directions. To top it all off, they even let us try some fresh farm eggs from their chickens, which was such a thoughtful touch. We’re heading home feeling refreshed, recharged, and overflowing with gratitude. 🥰 Already planning our next

Great location on Lake Lure. Quick access to the central part of the lake. Inside the house is on the small side but outdoor decks provide plenty of space to spread out. Everything you might need to enjoy your lake stay is provided, including the option for an on-site boat to rent. Parking is tight for larger vehicles - would suggest more compact size cars for easier maneuvering on street/parking area.

Our family of four (including two older teens and two dogs) loved Diane’s place. The location could not have been better. We had a beautiful view of the mountains from all of the many decks and outdoor living spaces, and were in an ideal cove for swimming and paddle boarding. The house has everything we needed and much more. We never needed to leave except for groceries. Our kids preferred it to our usual beach vacation. The kitchen and appliances were spotless. Throw blankets, pet protectors, pool towels, life jackets and every kitchen item you could imagine, the home provided it all. Diane was extremely gracious and proactive in communication. If we plan a future lake vacation, we will certainly look for this lovely Lake Lure home again, and anything Diane is hosting.

We stayed at Mike and Cate's for my husband's birthday weekend. It was a perfect, cozy spot (loved the bed!) for us to unwind after our adventures to the Biltmore House and a day of antiquing. I highly recommend this for a couple looking for a quiet neighborhood and relaxing stay. We had a great seafood meal at Surf & Brew Oyster Bar, minutes from the house!

Jeffreys lakehouse was absolutely incredible. The view is perfect and we had a wonderful time out on the lake. Would highly recommend!

Bear Lake is beautiful and isolated. Top notch staff, beautiful spaces and good amenities. The house was in fantastic shape and was everything advertised. The back porch is a fantastic place to hang out and enjoy a beautiful view of the mountains on the other side of the lake. A few things to consider - the road to the house is curvy and very steep. Also, cell service is very poor, so make sure to set your GPS and copy a picture with the door code before leaving the service areas.

Great stay at Connestee falls. Loved the views of the lake from the house and the great hiking trails nearby. Lake is stocked with fish and the kids had a lot of luck fishing. Hot tub has a great lake view for enjoying at night

Can’t say how much we love Bearcat Cottage! Always a quick response to any questions, on a rainy day played monopoly and uno, sunny days went swimming,kayaking and roasted marshmallows. My girls had a mini spa day and felt like they were in a “fancy” hotel (the slippers and robes)! Can’t wait to come back. Kitchen has everything and more!

The Lake Summit Nest, Dock and Boathouse exceeded our expectations! It was truly a place where we were able to retreat and rest amid beautiful, tranquil surroundings. The accommodations were immaculate and the kitchen replete with every tool we needed to prepare the meals we ate there. Wonderful coffee, a fridge and cabinets stocked with thoughtful purchases enhanced our experience and enjoyment. There were dozens of special touches that only an empathetic host would think to provide that made our stay more convenient and pleasant. To list them all would be impossible. Melinda is a superb host! There’s so much to do in the area, as well as being a true haven of quiet rest. The boat dock, with its kayaks, SUP boards and opportunities for water play were great. My husband had fun catching fish from the dock and the kayak. We have stayed in many Airbnbs in the U.S. and other countries and The Nest will stand out in our memories as the best!

Wonderful getaway for the family! The kids had the adventure we wanted away from the city. We had zero allergy issues, a few of us have allergy and asthma challenges and this home was clean and allergen free for us! We spent most mornings with coffee and either board games or exploring, the days on the lake with the kayaks and canoes, then nights around the fire with burgers and s’mores. Wonderful place for our family of 5. Thank you!

Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay here. There was plenty of space. There were large dining tables both indoors and outdoors. The home was well-equipped, with everything we needed. Our stay was short-term, but I was amazed by how much storage there was in the house, even though we didn’t personally use it. The furniture and beds were comfortable . Everything was clean. The carport was great for keeping us and our vehicle dry. The location was very convenient to many areas of town- it felt like we were never more than 5-10 minutes from our destination. We liked being able to walk to the college. The yard and deck were great spaces to spend time outdoors.

This was our second time staying at Rohin & Michelle’s place in Gerton. We loved it just as much this time around as we did the first! The hot tub was an added bonus from when we were here last, and everything else was just as remembered! Wonderful hosts, a peaceful getaway and an easy drive when we wanted to go into Asheville. Would recommend to all our friends!

This was a BEAUTIFUL space for our gathering. The house was stunning, super accommodating, and cozy for our large group. There was a lovely trail beside the house that led to a relaxing mini-spring. We loved how private it was and the community surrounding it. We appreciate the host’s flexibility and have already talked about coming back. You will not be disappointed booking this house.

We had a wonderful stay! The house was beautiful, well furnished, and stocked with everything we could possibly need. It felt like home! The views from the house are incredible...even better than the photos. The lake has a small beach that was a highlight and there are some nice trails around the property. The host was very responsive and the information we received in advance very helpful. We were especially appreciative of the host's flexibility with a special request. I highly recommend this location and would love to return.

Our second stay and it was just as wonderful as the first. Beautiful surroundings, gracious and kind hosts and a short drive to fun happenings. And be sure to buy the jellies!

Quiet and peaceful place to relax and still close to town. Great covered porch, it rained while we were there and it was nice to still be able to sit outside and enjoy the sound!

My son and I really enjoyed our weekend in the mountains - the cabin was great, with the right blend of comfort and fun! We particularly enjoyed a canoe trip around the lake nearby, and are so glad that the stay included the opportunity :)

This mountain home was absolutely perfect for our family getaway. We were looking for a beautiful place to stay that allowed entertainment in various areas at the same time. The three levels of this home allowed for us to spread out. The massage chair and hot tub were highly visited areas and the open concept allowed us to eat meals together. The hosts were very quick to respond to all of our questions prior to the stay and during our stay. The home was exactly as pictured. There were plenty of towels, blankets, dishes and parking for our family of 12. It was truly a peaceful place to unwind and get caught up with family. We will be staying here again in the future.
