Wow wow, we had an incredible stay! The housekeeper Ari and his wife amita were so so kind, the oceanfront location was impeccable, we had an issue with the electric, but thanks to Rebecca’s quick and helpful service it was taken care of promptly and professionaly, I would highly recommend this property!

It was a pleasure to stay here. We had everything we needed. Nihal helped a lot: with transfers, sightseeing, food, house, etc. We didn't have any problems. He's a great host! I highly recommend it!

Мы провели в этом доме целый месяц и остались в восторге! Просторный, уютный, с прекрасной чилл-зоной у реки, где можно расслабиться и насладиться природой. Особенно понравилась крыша – идеальное место для занятий йогой. Кухня полностью оборудована, так что готовить было удобно. Кровати в спальнях комфортные, спалось отлично. До пляжа всего 5-7 минут пешком, а до серф-спота в Велигаме – около 25 минут. В целом, это был замечательный опыт, и мы благодарны хозяевам за гостеприимство!

Wir hatten eine wunderschöne woche am sauberen ruhigen strand. Sind jede nacht mit dem rauschen der wellen eingeschlafen. Das frühstück konnten wir uns auf nachfrage individuel zusammen stellen lassen. Uns wurde mit salz, pfeffer und öl zum kochen ausgeholfen. Sowie mit zusätzliches datenvolumen für das wlan. Sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Haben die zeit dort sehr genossen!!! Karo und thorge

Best place to stay in Marissa….family had a great time…perfectly matches the phots and descriptions. I would definitely recommend this place. Very very proactive host goes out of his way to help the customer. Very close to the beach 🏖️.

Мы провели здесь месяц – это почти идеальное место! Интернет идеальный для работы, в т.ч. с видеозвонками. Удобная кровать с новым матрасом. Ванная комната – восторг! Туалет и душ отделены друг от друга, а горячая вода – это действительно горячая вода в безлимитном количестве и с великолепным напором. На кухне есть все, кроме турки для приготовления кофе, но это мелочь. С собаками мы подружились и часто играли. Они действительно лают, но только когда кто-то приходит, что в нашем случае происходило очень редко. Хозяева – прекрасные люди, общаться по всем вопросам было легко и приятно. Между нашими и соседними апартаментами нет шумоизоляции за счет тонкой двери в смежной стене. Мы сняли и эти апартаменты тоже и использовали их как отдельный рабочий кабинет. Когда на виллу кто-то приезжает, слышно абсолютно все, что происходит на улице в любое время суток. В любом случае моя оценка 10 из 10, потому что все перечисленные плюсы с лихвой компенсируют несущественные недостатки. Спасибо!

Sahan’s beautiful airbnb is a little gem in Weligama. I would 100% recommend. He greeted us at check in and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The place itself and the pool especially are absolutely gorgeous! The perfect location for a little retreat. Thanks Sahan!

Fantastic place, beautiful pool and gardens. So easy to flow right from living area to pool. Not right on the beach but access very easy through adjoining vacant property of same owners. Staff super attentive. Lovely village of Ballapitiya only 5 mins walk up a quiet lane way, with a multitude of eating options. We loved this village as we seemed to be the only tourists, locals genuine and friendly.

Lovely stay at the Blues for five of us attending a nearby wedding. Spacious grounds with colourful bird life, lizards and monkeys swinging from the trees. Lovely pool, could have spent the week lazing on the sunbeds. The two ladies at the house were always discreet, helpful and even prepared a lovely Sri Lankan curry on our late arrival due to the plane being diverted. They even cleaned the bbq for us. The house was clean, very spacious and steeped in Colonial history. As for Janaka, I can’t praise him enough. He went over and above to help and support every thing we did. He organised taxis, Tuk Tuks and even drove us into the neighbouring town for a bit of sightseeing and food and drinks purchasing on our first day. He spoke excellent English and would interpret for us if required. Lovely people, great property and a beautiful country. Will return in the future.

We had a wonderful stay at Catherine’s cottage. Location was good; walkable to the beach. It is hard to fully explain just how spacious the cottage is - every room is large and well thought out, even the outside veranda is enormous. The children loved the little pool, it was absolutely perfect to end our Sri Lankan adventure. Thank you.

Wir haben fünf Nächte in dem Hotel von Pasan verbracht. Die Anlage ist wunderschön, der Garten sehr gepflegt, die Palmen am Strand machen ein wunderschönes Bild und auch der Pool war super. Das Zimmer und Badezimmer war ausreichend groß und sauber. Das Personal, welches von morgens bis abends vor Ort war, war sehr freundlich und wir haben sehr leckeres Essen bekommen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die drei weiteren Zimmer waren zeitweise auch mit Gästen belegt, aber insgesamt war es sehr ruhig, man hört lediglich die Wellen rauschen. Baden im Meer kann man leider aufgrund der hohen Wellen nicht, aber dafür gibt es den Pool. Wir würden das Hotel auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

Good place for family holidays. They have a chef who will plate some amazing food.

Sophie is a wonderful host—friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout our stay. The villa exceeded our expectations; it’s even better than the photos! The location is perfect for a beach holiday, just a short ride from Unawatuna where you’ll find great restaurants and bars. While getting an Uber or cab can occasionally be tricky, tuk-tuks are always readily available and add to the local charm. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing getaway.

We have just got home after our trip to the Tropical Beach House in Hikkaduwa. What a totally lovely time away. Great communication with Gavin prior to the visit and out in touch with Darmith (house keeper) and taxi transport for arrival. We arrived at 2am to be met by Darmith and Saji (security) and felt at home straight away. Darmith had collected fridge essentials before we arrived so we were set up for the following morning. The house and gardens are lovely, the sound of the ocean 24/7 is just perfect and the house was spotlessly clean with good facilities. Sangrita helped to provide us with Sri Lankan breakfast foods, loved the Dahl curry and the hoppers but also gave us an awesome Brit breakfast of eggs and bacon! Chandra was on hand at night to cook a bbq which was tasty and varied. We used Tuk tuks to get out and about during our stay which were easy to find. Any issues we had were resolved quickly. Lots of local bars and eateries along the beach or further into Hikkaduwa.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful villa, located right on the serene and picturesque Talpe Beach. The calm, crystal-clear waters were perfect for calm bathing, and we were lucky enough to spot massive turtles every morning! We loved the option of cooking for ourselves, and the fully equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare meals. The vibrant markets in Galle, just a 15-minute drive away, offered an incredible variety of fresh seafood, fruits, and vegetables, which was a real treat. If you prefer, Anjalee, the lovely housekeeper, is also available to cook you breakfast. The villa was impeccably clean, and the communication with Jack was seamless and clear from start to finish. It was the perfect place to unwind, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Wir haben dort wundervolle 2 Wochen verbracht. Das Haus ist mit seiner Lage, direkt am Strand, und seiner Ausstattung ein Glücksgriff. Die Einwohner in der Nachbarschaft waren alle sehr freundlich. Der Ort ist noch kein Touristenhotspot, was wir sehr genossen haben. In Ambalanghoda ist eine Zugstation, man kommt also auch einfach in andere Städte. Ansonsten fahren überall die üblichen Tuk Tuks. Jay der Housekeeper hat uns alle Wünsche erfüllt und was sehr zuvorkommend. Er hat ein paar Mal für einen Aufpreis für uns gekocht, sehr lecker!

So, you’re obviously looking for accommodation in south-west Sri Lanka – well don’t look any further than Sailor’s Bay. From the minute you enter this paradise, you will be welcomed and charmed by Dilan and his family. The environment is gorgeous – any stress totally disappears. Nothing is too much trouble. They are engaging, and genuinely go out of their way to ensure that every second of your stay is a second to remember. Our family (13 – 3 generations – ages 2 – 74) was continually astounded by their willingness to do the best by us . It was a sad time when we left, but happy in the knowledge that we will return. So, take my word for it – Sailor’s Bay will not disappoint even the most pedantic traveler.

I stayed for two weeks at this beachfront villa in Ambalangoda, and it was an incredible experience. The villa is spacious, with large rooms and plenty of space to relax. Having a parking area was a huge advantage, especially for my rented motorcycle. Denuka, the host, was extremely helpful and responsive. He quickly addressed my requests via WP and ensured a smooth stay. Another highlight was Denuka’s uncle, who spends most of the day near the swing in the front yard. He is incredibly kind and always ready to help whenever needed. Exploring the surroundings by motorcycle was a fantastic experience—I highly recommend it. Overall, this villa is a great choice for anyone looking for a comfortable and scenic getaway. I would definitely stay here again!

We really loved our stay at Nalinda’s place. But if you are looking for a fancy, high-end place according to European or US standards, do not choose this one because you will be disappointed. If you are looking for an authentic and charming place with lively people who are super friendly and helpful, take a chance, because it is actually a great deal (never forget how much you are paying !). Nalinda is the best Airbnb host I have ever experienced: super communicative and great at giving tips and arranging transport. Sachin, the person responsible for the house and the tuc tuc, is great. He is the one driving you around and yes, he might be a bit more expensive than the guys you can stop on the street but then it is also super convenient to have a personal driver at all times. The garden and the pool are a definite bonus and there is a beautiful beach on the other side of the road (don’t get discouraged by the wrecked houses that you have to pass). This is authentic Sri Lankan living 💕

Największym atutem tego miejsca jest lokalizacja oraz gospodarz, który jest bardzo pomocny. Jeżeli nie chcecie turystów na każdym kroku a raczej poznać lokalnych mieszkańców to idealne miejsce. Blisko targ z rybami a w soboty duży targ warzyw i owoców, parę minut tuk tuk w stronę Galle. Budynek składa się z mieszkania na dole oraz na piętrze. Piętro to 3 sypialnie w tym dwie z widokiem na ocean oraz kuchnia ze stołem. Na dole jest podobnie. Duża grupa osób ma budynek dla siebie. Teren wokół domu jest zadbany. Rano słychać przypływających rybaków, ale jest to element uroku tego miejsca. Woda przy posesji jest bezpieczna z uwagi na małą zatokę, po prawej stronie sporo płycizny, miejsce dobre do nauki pływania na desce. Jeżeli szukacie idealnej ciszy to tu jej nie znajdziecie jeżeli chcecie poznać prawdę o tym miejscu Sri Lanki to dobrze traficie. My zakochaliśmy się w tym miejscu pełnym dźwięków i życia wśród lokalnej społeczności.

Really nice and best place for a getaway. Nice Interior & Spacious bedrooms. Really nice beach front area. Host was very friendly. Really enjoyed the stay!

We had the most wonderful stay at Seagem in Mirissa! The house was perfect, everything in the kitchen was well-organized, and the porch area was such a cozy spot to sit, read, and unwind. The garden added a lovely homely touch, making the entire experience feel so peaceful and relaxing. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the amazing hospitality by the lovely family hosting us. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home, served us delicious dinners on two nights (truly some of the best we had!), and their two adorable dogs were the sweetest little guardians, friendly and comforting to have around. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful, guiding us with local recommendations like the secret beach, a scenic hilltop view near the harbor, and even a nearby spa. Their warmth and genuine care made this trip extra special, we’ve honestly never experienced such loving & thoughtful hosts before. To top it all off, the location is perfect, just a short 5-min walk to beach.
