Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Alleghany County

We are repeat guests at Marcia’s farmhouse and always love our visit. The place is lovely and comfortable, with all possible items that you could need in a home. The kitchen is a dream! Every possible gadget that you can think of. This is by far our favorite Airbnb!! Marcia is an exemplary hostess!

This place is a home away from home. The pictures do it no justice. The hosts do a great job being clear with their instructions. The home itself was spotless and easy to check in to. I’m blown away by the absolute beauty of the location of this home. The only down side was that we had to leave. I definitely would recommend this home, it is literally a life changing experience if you have not experienced life in the mountains and all its beauty.

This place was so cute. I felt like we were staying in a house made for a Hallmark Christmas movie. Kim was a great host! She was so polite and quick to respond!

This place was a gem. The views were absolutely stunning—whether it was sunrise with coffee or winding down in the evening, the scenery never got old. Inside, it felt like home from the moment I walked in. Clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully put together with everything I needed. You can tell the host really cares about creating a welcoming space. That’s why we’ve rented this place in the past as well.

We enjoyed our stay at this clean and well stocked place. From making breakfast or Steak on the grill they had everything we needed. The kids loved the aray of games as well as playing in the creek. The beds were very comfortable.

The house was exactly as described. It was also way more equipped than we anticipated. Plenty of linens, starting sets, stocked kitchen, etc. Would definitely recommend to folks looking for a peaceful getaway. Will definitely rent again.

As so many have said, beautiful views! I stayed a month in the fall and watched the colors from highest ridge down through the valley change through the season… The mornings the mist would roll over the ridge and settle in, and so many sunrises! Some gorgeous sunsets, as colorful clouds above the ridge reflected the sun setting behind the trees. (The back deck and windows face east.) The BR Parkway was closed in North Carolina while I was there, directly after Hurricane Helene. But the alternate dirt roads weren’t bad. Only a mile. As long as you have a map, getting around was fine. The house itself is snug as a bug. Beautiful sunroom, etc. Nice new kitchen. Short ceilings for the kitchen, but I’m 6’ 1” and had no trouble. But the washer/dryer is in the basement and do be careful on those stairs. It’s a nice property and a nice home. Jack and Barbara are wonderful folks. It was a terrific month.

We found Ann's place to be very comfortable with lots of room indoors and out. She has provided so many amenities, particularly the stocked kitchen. I always pack a bag of extras (paper towels, wraps, spices, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc) because so many places are skimpy on that stuff. I'll know next time not to bring a thing! We all enjoyed playing the board games and yard games provided. The hot tub was delightful after the little ones went to bed. The setting is truly gorgeous with views of farms and mountains in the distance. The sunsets were outstanding, as were the stars at night. We were able to drive for nearby hiking and exploring the area towns.

Cathy was super sweet. She let us check in early and I was so thankful! They introduced themselves and were so kind. House had easy check-in. You could hear some noises from upstairs during the day, but it wasn’t bad. Always quiet at night! Bed was soooo comfy too!

My friend and I visited West Jefferson to attend a 3-day art workshop at the Florence Thomas School of Art. The Uptown Loft was conveniently located near the school and the it was delightful to be right in the downtown area to explore the city and find good dining experiences. The Loft itself was true to how it was described and well stocked with amenities. Very clean and well furnished. We would definitely consider staying again if we re-visit West Jefferson. Thanks Ken.

Our stay at the Roost was very pleasant. We especially enjoyed the river access and hung out down there a couple of times. One of our favorite things was the lack of a TV. It added to the unplugged rustic experience we enjoy. Thank you Michael for sharing your space with us.

We truly enjoyed our stay and the amenities provided. We were able to ride our bicycles on the New River Trail in Galax. This was our second stay at Brian’s place and he excels in providing excellent amenities. The facilities were exceptionally clean and everything we needed was provided.

This is a peaceful apartment that couldn't be closer to the App State campus (including the stadium!). Kevin was communicative and shared some helpful recommendations. The home was well stocked and we absolutely loved spending time on the patio surrounded by beautiful trees. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Boone.

It was very quaint, clean and comfortable place. The apartment was above the garage of the host's house. It was very private even though the building was technically connected. The host was very responsive, clear on the instructions, and friendly. This place was only 5 miles from Grayson Highland entrance. There are SO many things to do and places to go from there. I definitely recommend this place to stay if you are in the area for an adventure!!!!

Just wow! There’s so much charm and character in this place. It felt just like home to our family . We loved the rental so much that we made breakfast and dinner in the cozy rental each day of our stay - so relaxing. Love… love all the decor and style. Owner provided everything needed from cookware, linens, soap, iron, and etc. The owner thought of it all. It’s one of my favorite rentals ever. It is spacious for 4 people, even with 1 bath. Never did we feel on top of each other - very comfortable. We will definitely be back. We usually stay downtown but decided to try something new this trip and glad we did. Location is close to the town. Only a couple blocks away. We got lots of rest here which is not the case at most of the downtown condos with the traffic noise at night. Beds were on point - very comfy! I can’t say enough good things about this place. Thankful to the host as she accepted our rental request within 1 hour of our stay and made it happen.

This bottom floor apartment was in a gorgeous, quiet neighborhood that was close to all the West Jefferson places we like to visit. It was clean and organized. I loved the little “extra thoughtful amenities” that were available if you forgot things from home. My favorite part was sitting on the porch drinking coffee relaxing while two hummingbirds hovered for a minute.
