São is a friendly and very attentive host. Their beautiful home is perfect for lounging in the Alentejano countryside, but just minutes away from Mértola and other cities of interest. Tastefully decorated, it has everything you need to make your stay very pleasant. Thank you for everything, we will not hesitate to return.

Me and my father enjoyed our stay in Mertola. If you like a small village and nature, this accommodation is great. We stayed 2 nights. There are plenty of restaurants around the house which allowed for nice breakfast/dinner places. There was a little issue upon arrival with the key, but Ana reacted as quick as possible which was appreciated.

The property was conveniently situated for restaurants and shops, a good selection of which were only a few minutes walk away. There was usually on street parking very close to the property and it was a quiet street - very little traffic noise at night. We were touring around so had a fairly large suitcase which we didn't attempt to carry up the spiral stairs, it may have been easy enough but it seemed easier to leave it downstairs.

Vila Velha is an absolute gem, it's everything João & Filipa say it is & they were really friendly & helpful on our arrival & in their communication. It was a great place to base ourselves and explore the local countryside & the beautiful local towns. The weather was quite unsettled during our visit so having somewhere warm & cosy to come back to, was really welcome. We would definitely recommend it as a place to stay for anyone wanting to explore this area of Portugal.
