Cailhau is a small medieval village (220 Inhabitants). It is located on a rock (hence the name caillou and haut). From here you can take beautiful walks (or cycling) with always another surprising view. Nearby are many wine cellars where you can sample delicious wines. Cailhau is also located in the Catharen region, rich in history, with many castles and abbeys to visit. In the village you have a cosy bistro where you can eat and drink. Nestled on a hill, the views of the Pyrenees and the Montagne Noire are breathtaking and the disconnection is total. There are many hikes. The greenway can be easily reached by bike or on foot. Mirepoix is 10 min by car, Chalabre, Lake Montbel 30 min, Carcassonne 30 min, Wine Route 15 min, Cathar Castles 50 min, Narbonne 1 hr 20 min, Toulouse 1 hr.

You will find ping pong, petanque, badminton, garden ideal for children, animation evening possible with nonprofit meal on our terrace. the village of Cambieure at the gates of Limoux and very close to Carcassonne ideal departure for visiting the Aude and Ariège. The caves lakes vineyards the canal du midi. Cleaning must be done before departure or take the option at €35. Simple accommodation with low prices and not suitable for pretentious people.

Enjoy the peace, the view and the comfort of this stylish chalet. Very suitable as a romantic getaway or relaxing in nature with your family. We are at 650 meters altitude, in a hot summer it is always a little cooler than in the valley and with a breeze, very pleasant. At night, the lake cools down and it's a good night's sleep. We don't need air conditioning. Dogs are welcome, €15 per stay. For the winter months there is a wood stove. The firewood is not included in the rental.

We really enjoyed our stay with Erick and Isabelle - they are wonderful hosts who made us feel very welcome, including organising a tasting of local Corbières wines, and a separate vinegar tasting. The house is beautiful, and very well equipped - for dinner, we could take our pick between bbqing outside on the terrace or cooking in the kitchen. For swimming, we were spoilt for choice, able to swim in the pool as well as in the river below the house. The countryside around the house is great for walks (and the nearby village is easily walkable), but it is quite remote, so a car is needed to get around, and to visit almost any of the nearby sights beyond the village. It was an amazing holiday, and having this great place to stay was a really important part of it!

If you want to have a quiet holiday, Claire's cottage is for you. it is located in a hamlet with very little dwelling, which makes stays peaceful. And accessible to visit the small villages around. the proposed pool is a plus in high heat.
