Skipperhuset

🏡 Skipperhuset is the oldest house on our family farm Birkenes located in Farsund municipality. The Skipper House was built in the 19th century and has been rehabilitated several times, most recently in the spring of 2021. In collaboration with a local painting company, we are working to make the house as authentic as possible, including wallpapering the living room, kitchen and hallway with skipper house wallpaper and linseed oil paint to preserve wood, etc. The Skipperhuset has a natural place on the farm and is located wall to wall with the brewery house which has a renovated baker's oven.

Nostalgic and cozy living room with unique location

The historic house shows the year 1773 painted on the walls. The house was originally located in the village's cluster yard and was bombed during World War II. When the farm building was erected on the farm, the remains of the house were set up as a living room until the barn and today appears as an intimate and cozy little house with lots of history and soul. All amenities are of course completely modern. The house in the middle of the valley, down towards the fjord and at the innermost part of Høgsfjorden provides an unforgettable holiday in this old living room.

Welcome! The farm is located between hills and trees - with a huge garden and jetty with swimming area below. Enjoy the archipelago in Blindleia - the tranquility of the warm garden - or all the fun things to do there such as: frisbee golf course with 3 baskets, table tennis, billiards, volleyball, trampoline, cricket, badminton, football, darts etc. There are three dinghies for loan for experienced boaters. (16 ft with 25hp and 12 ft with 5hp). Deposit NOK 1,500), as well as a small dinghy 9 ft with oars. And here are three kayaks and 2 electric car chargers.

We rent out our funky house in Viga, in Spind. The house was built in 2018 and has a high standard. On the first floor there is a hallway, laundry room, TV room with sofa bed, bathroom, and three bedrooms all furnished with 2 single beds. On the second floor there is a large kitchen, living room, dining table, TV area, bedroom with double bed, and large bathroom that is associated with this bedroom. Outside there is a large terrace with a lot of space, different seating areas, jacuzzi and fire pit, and nice views!

There are no neighbors. It is a 500m walk to the sea. Possibilities to rent a rowing boat. Great hiking areas.

If desired, you can rent a rowboat, if you have a fishing rod you can fish. The area has a literary center, farm food shop, bakery and photo exhibition. Our house is located in a beautiful, quiet location and with views of the fjord and mountains only about 20 minutes (by car) from Preikestolen, probably the most famous excursion destination with us. The Kjerag is also easily accessible from here. Pets are welcome. We warmly welcome a maximum of 6 guests. You will stay in the lower, fully furnished apartment. In summer, sun from 10 am to sunset.
