Family-friendly vacation rentals in Achill Island

Had a fantastic stay at Mary’s. The place is absolutely beautiful, stunning views and so peaceful. We were 2 adults and 3 teenagers. The kids loved swimming in the lake, walking the shore and feeding the donkeys. The cabin was well equipped, had everything you might need and was very cosy and warm. And the hot tub was fabulous! Great to have! Mary was a great hostess. Thanks Mary!

Collanmore Island Lodge is unreal, couldn't recommend it more! We had the best stag weekend ever here and Ciaran is a absolute gent. Getting to the island is easy and exciting, beds are comfy and facilities are top notch. Ideal for big family gatherings or any type of West of Ireland getaway. I will be back again for sure, thank you Ciaran and your great team.

We had a family break March 2025. 12 family members, the accommodation was perfect for us. Great kitchen/dining room for socialising/eating. Never felt on top of each other 6 of the bedrooms had en-suite shower room and there was also a downstairs cloakroom off of the main hall. All of the 5 double bedrooms downstairs had en-suites and one of the double bedrooms upstairs. We all loved coming back 'home' after a day out. Great outside facilities, plently of logs for the sauna, hot tub. Excvellent views. Beautiful stary skies on clear nights with zero light polution! Will be staying again, already planning our 2026 stay! Marian was extremely responsive both before and duting our stay, as was the local caretaker who responded almost immediatley to a maintenance request we had during our stay

We had a wonderful three-day stay at Mary’s place! The surroundings are beautiful, and the location is convenient with great access to the town. The price was very reasonable for everything that was offered. Even though the weather wasn’t perfect, the hot tub and sauna made our trip so much more enjoyable — they turned rainy days into relaxing afternoons. Sitting by the dock with a cup of hot tea, watching the water, was one of the most peaceful moments of our stay. Thank you, Mary, for providing such a cozy and lovely getaway!

We stayed at Mask Valley Lodge for two nights in April, driving all the way from Dublin—and what a stunning escape it was. Nestled in the heart of Mayo, this hidden gem offered the perfect mix of peace, comfort, and incredible scenery. Despite a few rain showers, the sun made several welcome appearances, painting rainbows across the valley and making the views from the deck and balcony feel like something out of a storybook. The lodge itself is beautifully presented, warm, and welcoming, with everything you need to truly unwind. The hot tub was a real highlight—perfect after a day exploring the nearby hills and mountains. We loved sitting out on the large decking area with a drink, soaking in the quiet (save for the occasional sheep!), and admiring the postcard-perfect views of Lough Mask and the surrounding landscape.Complete privacy, breathtaking sunsets, and a cosy evening fire made it a truly magical stay.

My brother and myself were paying a visit to relatives who live in the area..we found Sheila’s air B&B to be very accommodating..very homely ..warm ..private ..as my brother described it to being like “ home from home “.accommodation was very clean and well equipped .We could not find fault at all . We met Sheila before departing and had a lovely friendly chat and discovered she knew our relatives . We would definitely use this accommodation again if it met our requirement dates .

This is our second stay at Patricias house. The house is really spacious, clean and well maintained with lots of rooms for family activities. The surroundings are really quiet and peaceful but only a few minutes drive to a few lively areas with good pubs and restaurants. Lots to do in the house and garden, the bikes are an added bonus. We have always found Patricia to be very friendly and helpful, a fantastic host. Thank you again for letting us stay in your lovely home.

All I could say is Excellent stay, fantastic and neatly maintained. Centra is nearby for last minute things to buy.

This getaway is exactly what we wanted. The cottage was extremely cozy, and was quite charming. With tons of nature around us, no screens, and good company, the stay was incredibly relaxing. We had a great time thumbing through the materials and fun history of the cottage. William was extremely accommodating and was very responsive. We will absolutely be back!

Another fantastic stay for 12 of us in this fantastic house with loads of space for adults, teenagers and younger children. Such an amazing location, close to beaches and the most beautiful walks . We’ll be back and I would recommend to anyone who wants to stay in this area, or anyone who does not know the area but wants a break in a beautiful rural house, easily shared with friends or other families.

La maison est à quelques minutes de voiture de Clifden. Mary communique toutes les informations nécessaires pour le trouver. C’est un logement magnifique qui est situé en pleine nature. Un beau lac est à proximité et visible depuis la maison. Il est bien équipé et très spacieux. On peut faire facilement de la cuisine pour tous les repas. Les chambres sont spacieuses et dotées d’une salle de bain chacune. Mary a été très attentionnée à notre arrivée et durant le reste de notre séjour. Elles nous a donnés beaucoup d’informations utiles sur les commerces aux alentours. Nous recommandons ce logement parce qu’il a répondu à nos besoins (famille de 4 personnes) On recommande pour sa proximité de nombreux sites touristiques comme kylemore, le parc du Connemara ou la Skyroad. Pour finir, nous recommandons aussi pour la bonne entente avec notre hôte. Ce fut une bonne expérience qui donne envie de revenir. Merci

Super séjour. La maison est extrêmement chaleureuse; on s'y sent bien de suite. Magnifique vue sur la mer depuis le salon et la cuisine; nous avons même pu observer des dauphins nageant dans la mer depuis les fenêtres. La maison est bien équipée et joliment décorée. A proximité des principales attraction du connemara nous recommandons ce logement.

A huge thank you to Patricia and Gerard for such a lovely stay. The house is spacious, clean and in an excellent location. The house is situated in the perfect location for a wedding in Ashford Castle/Lodge and is also only a 15 minute walk to the village. Patricia and Gerard provided a seamless check in/check out experience and very generously provided ingredients for a full Irish breakfast. Could not recommend this accommodation enough and am looking forward to coming back already.

The house itself was clean, cozy, and well-stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Maire and Noreen were communicative and made sure we had everything we needed.
