Family-friendly vacation rentals in Achill Island

Booking was a breeze. Contacted the hosts beforehand and they were extremely helpful in narrowing down a date and a check-in time. When we arrived, Dermot was there to greet us and showed us to our place of stay. He made sure that we felt welcomed and if we needed anything at all, not to be afraid to give him a shout. Dermot helped us with organising a take-away and also with setting up the fire and heater. Area was beautiful and peaceful with stunning views of the Ox Mountains range. The barn was far bigger than I expected, with lots of room and everything you could need. Overall, was a very enjoyable experience and would highly recommend it.

We had the best experience! Loved the place, the stay, and the overall atmosphere. Dermot and Monica were incredibly friendly and made our night and stay at Ox Mountain Lodge truly special. Worth every penny — we’ll definitely visit again! We came back with lots of wonderful memories.❤️

Had a fantastic stay at Mary’s. The place is absolutely beautiful, stunning views and so peaceful. We were 2 adults and 3 teenagers. The kids loved swimming in the lake, walking the shore and feeding the donkeys. The cabin was well equipped, had everything you might need and was very cosy and warm. And the hot tub was fabulous! Great to have! Mary was a great hostess. Thanks Mary!

Collanmore Island Lodge is unreal, couldn't recommend it more! We had the best stag weekend ever here and Ciaran is a absolute gent. Getting to the island is easy and exciting, beds are comfy and facilities are top notch. Ideal for big family gatherings or any type of West of Ireland getaway. I will be back again for sure, thank you Ciaran and your great team.

We had a family break March 2025. 12 family members, the accommodation was perfect for us. Great kitchen/dining room for socialising/eating. Never felt on top of each other 6 of the bedrooms had en-suite shower room and there was also a downstairs cloakroom off of the main hall. All of the 5 double bedrooms downstairs had en-suites and one of the double bedrooms upstairs. We all loved coming back 'home' after a day out. Great outside facilities, plently of logs for the sauna, hot tub. Excvellent views. Beautiful stary skies on clear nights with zero light polution! Will be staying again, already planning our 2026 stay! Marian was extremely responsive both before and duting our stay, as was the local caretaker who responded almost immediatley to a maintenance request we had during our stay

We had a wonderful three-day stay at Mary’s place! The surroundings are beautiful, and the location is convenient with great access to the town. The price was very reasonable for everything that was offered. Even though the weather wasn’t perfect, the hot tub and sauna made our trip so much more enjoyable — they turned rainy days into relaxing afternoons. Sitting by the dock with a cup of hot tea, watching the water, was one of the most peaceful moments of our stay. Thank you, Mary, for providing such a cozy and lovely getaway!

My brother and myself were paying a visit to relatives who live in the area..we found Sheila’s air B&B to be very accommodating..very homely ..warm ..private ..as my brother described it to being like “ home from home “.accommodation was very clean and well equipped .We could not find fault at all . We met Sheila before departing and had a lovely friendly chat and discovered she knew our relatives . We would definitely use this accommodation again if it met our requirement dates .

This is our second stay at Patricias house. The house is really spacious, clean and well maintained with lots of rooms for family activities. The surroundings are really quiet and peaceful but only a few minutes drive to a few lively areas with good pubs and restaurants. Lots to do in the house and garden, the bikes are an added bonus. We have always found Patricia to be very friendly and helpful, a fantastic host. Thank you again for letting us stay in your lovely home.

All I could say is Excellent stay, fantastic and neatly maintained. Centra is nearby for last minute things to buy.

This getaway is exactly what we wanted. The cottage was extremely cozy, and was quite charming. With tons of nature around us, no screens, and good company, the stay was incredibly relaxing. We had a great time thumbing through the materials and fun history of the cottage. William was extremely accommodating and was very responsive. We will absolutely be back!

This is my second time to stay in one of Teresa's beautiful holiday homes, and it was just as wonderful as the first. The cottage is cosy, peaceful, warm and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. Teresa is a fantastic host – warm, welcoming, and always on hand if needed. I can’t wait to come back again ❤️

Another fantastic stay for 12 of us in this fantastic house with loads of space for adults, teenagers and younger children. Such an amazing location, close to beaches and the most beautiful walks . We’ll be back and I would recommend to anyone who wants to stay in this area, or anyone who does not know the area but wants a break in a beautiful rural house, easily shared with friends or other families.

A fantastic family stay on Achill, Dave’s house was perfect for us. A lovely walk to the beach where we enjoyed coffees & crepes from Lizzies truck. We hope to rent it again on our next family trip - we love Achill.

Oh my goodness this place!!!! Absolutely stunning location, peaceful and private yet handy for a great choice of restaurants in Clifden. The cottage itself is just totally beautiful, spacious, clean, comfortable and the views are unreal. We’ve never spent so much time wanting to look out of windows!! The deer and the ponies were a bonus. Mary was great at communication. All in all my favourite Airbnb. Thank you so much for letting us experience this fabulous property in a magical area.

A very spacious and comfortable apartment with a gorgeous view, sheep included. Close to town but feels like countryside. Town is a pretty 20 minute walk away. Regina is a devoted though not intrusive hostess, with lots of good suggestions for places to visit. Nearby Westport has natty shops and fine food. Try Hotel Wyatt — try their magnificent mussels. The region is a seafood haven.

It was perfect! Very clean and SO charming! Easily walkable into the village. Exactly what we were looking for!

We spent 2 nights in Catherine's Cosy Cottage. It really is in a terrific location, 100 metres away from local pubs and restaurant, and a further 100 metres to the stunning Keel beach. The cottage itself is very cosy and has everything you need for a home from home experience. We were greeted by lovely homemade scones and brown bread which were so tasty. Catherine was great to deal with and was always responsive and helpful. Definitely recommended.

We had an incredible stay at this Airbnb! The view was absolutely stunning—whether it was sunrise, sunset, or just enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning, the scenery was breathtaking. The house itself was clean, cozy, and well-stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Maire and Noreen were communicative and made sure we had everything we needed. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway with an unbeatable view, this is the perfect spot. We would definitely stay here again!
