House vacation rentals in Yancey County

This was our fifth year staying at Elevacres. We have so enjoyed each visit. Kevin was, again, a great host. Thank you for everything. We will miss your home as our AVL rental, but can’t argue with you wanting that daily view back. Cheers!

The view of the lake from the living room is one of the best in LandHarbor. The house is very well equipped - everything you need to enjoy, cook, a covered patio, and comfortable beds. I will be back again!

Amanda was an amazing host! She was super helpful with sending recommendations before our trip, and was on top of responses while we were there. She was more than happy to accommodate our needs.

It was lovely, the communications with the manager were perfect and we enjoyed our stay there very much. Linens could use a little refreshing, however.

The condo was extremely clean, comfortable, and well equipped. The decorations and overall feel of the place is great. The pool was nice to go down and enjoy as well. The view is incredible and we spent a good bit of time out on the balcony, just enjoying the beauty and serenity. We have zero complaints and nothing but praise for the condo and hosts. We definitely plan to return! Don't be deterred by the need to use the shuttle to travel back and forth to your car. The drivers were great and the wait for them was just a couple minutes. The entire complex seems laid back, friendly, and very well maintained. Food, groceries, or entertainment is all within a few minutes drive. While our friends were sweating in Bristol at 87 degrees, we were a cool 72 up on the mountain. It is a great place to cool off and recharge in the Summer.

Our family is huge so it’s really hard to find a house large enough to host all of us. Daniel’s house was GORGEOUS and so spacious, the photos did not do this place justice. The upstairs was beautiful with large windows that let natural light in. We did encounter a mama bear and her baby, but Daniel warned us every day during our stay to keep trash in and be aware of the bears. We were secured inside the house and got to watch through the windows. It was an amazing experience for the kids. The golf cart was a game changer. We didn’t have to move our vehicles a lot. The amenities were perfect for us and the kids. Two pools, mini golf, and pickleball was all we needed to stay busy the entire weekend. Lake Lure was closed, but that was told to us weeks before the trip. We will definitely come back when Lake Lure opens. 10/10 vacation!!!!!!

Very cozy and comfortable home. Black Mountain is a charming small town with great shops and restaurants. Highly recommended. Did not really interact with Evolve beyond the welcome email. I did communicate with the owner a few times who was great. Very friendly and helpful.

Clean and comfortable, plenty of space for our group of 16. Pool and hot tub were a hit! Had an issue with the a/c on first day but hosts were quick to get it fixed. One bedroom (twin w/trundle) is off the master - worked for us but maybe not for a different group. Would recommend this place to others.

The home was everything we anticipated it being! There was ample space and visibility of the mountains and nature! We absolutely plan to come back. We practiced yoga and simply relaxed. There was a minor issue with being disconnected from phone services, however there was a land line to call in the am to get connected to the WiFi. Would not have been an issue, however I was working remotely. It was a very quick fix. The home was well stocked and just a peaceful space you won’t want to leave! There is a Dollar store 30 min. out. Asheville is 1 hour away and has grocery stories. I wish there were only 3 things I could create a wish list on. A hot tub, a room with a treadmill, yoga mats or even a stationary bike- the sunroom with the Mountain View’s would be perfect-omit the table and chairs and lastly have a level where twin beds are on the same floor as a big bed, so that little kids are on the same level with adults. This is a MUST book! We will be back! I miss it already.

It was an amazing stay. The view was absolutely stunning, and we loved how peaceful and secluded the place was. The outdoor deck with sunrise views was perfect for morning coffee and cozy dinner dates. The hot tub and sauna were such a great bonus for relaxing. We also really appreciated how pet-friendly the place is – our cat loved watching the view through the big glass window while staying warm by the cozy heated fireplace. Definitely a 5-star experience. Highly recommended!

Marys place is nothing less than magical. The open yard was perfect for the kids to play in all day. We spent countless hours swimming in the private creek with our kids and pup. My husband and I took our evenings to do a night swim then warm off in the sauna before watching the stars by the fire. The sounds of crickets put us to bed ( in the most comfortable beds & linens I’ve ever slept in! ) and the birds chirping woke us up! The house was clutter free, cozy and clean with fun indoor and outdoor games tucked away and great reading on the shelves. The neighborhood felt safe and so friendly. We thought we’d spend more time in Asheville but barnardsville and weaverville ( 15 min drive ) had everything we needed for good food and incredible nature. As for our host, she was so friendly and responsive. You can tell she pours her love into this house and takes care of her guests like family. All in all, it was the perfect family vacation and we hope to return soon!

Hidden Gem. More beautiful than the photos. Definently will stay again and highly recommend it to all. They are great Host as well and deserve more than just 5 stars. Our Family loved and made beautiful memories together we will always remember. Huge thank yous again to Carrie and her Husband.

We had an amazing couple of days, the location was beautiful. The small hike to the water fall was definitely a memorable experience. I would highly recommend this picture perfect, peaceful retreat to families as well as couples. Gustavo and Isabel were extremely kind to let us arrive a few hours early as our drive was shorter than expected. Thank you for the hospitality.

House was perfect for our weekend getaway! Lots of things to entertain the little ones which was a fantastic surprise!

Owls nest is a beautiful house in a great location! Some coworkers and I were in town for work and needed a house big enough for us. Owls nest was perfect!!! Great communication! Very clean! Would definitely be recommending to any and everyone coming near the Mars hills area.

A great place to stay. We had 12 family members attending a wedding in the area. Everyone loved the home. It's a historic home, but all the modern conveniences.

My husband and I eloped June 10th at Jump Off Rock and invited our immediate family to join us. Beaver Cabin was our meeting place. We filled this place with the max amount of guests and even then, there was plenty of space! The kitchen is so well stocked, there wasn't anything we needed that wasn't there. Towels, linens were plentiful. There is only one bathroom on each level, so lots of sharing, but it wasn't an issue for us. The porch was my favorite part, the view of the mountains, watching storms roll in, the clouds/fog come and go...perfect! The basement was awesome for the kids! The only negative for us was the driveway. It was steep and washed out in places, so a little difficult to navigate (for those of us not used to it) but not impossible. I appreciated being able to drive all the way up to the front door but park down below. Overall, a wonderful stay for a very special week. Would love to return!

This cabin was everything you could ask for! John clearly went above and beyond to ensure we had all the creature comforts we could need, in a home that is absolutely stunning. We could have listened to the creek and animals for hours on end. Would absolutely book again when back in town.

A pristine home in an amazing private community. Full equipped with kitchen, bath, and extras. Always great recommendations and responsive to questions. Highly recommend for families that enjoy nature and privacy.

Words can not express how wonderful this Airbnb experience was! I’ve stayed at 50 Airbnbs and this was our most favorite of all! The house was well equipped with everything we needed. The interior was beautifully decorated, beds were very comfortable and the outside was beautifully landscaped with lots of flowers blooming! Very reasonable price in a great location! You won’t be disappointed with anything at the house!

Shawn was a very responsive and polite host. She responded as soon as possible when we had questions about something. Her description of the house is spot on. The floors were a bit unleveled and there were some ledges but you just need to be mindful of where you step. The old home vibe is definitely there, and the backyard view in the afternoons is beautiful with green everywhere. Reminded me of my childhood of those summer afternoon but with an extra sense of peace. The bathrooms and kitchen both worked perfectly even if it is an old home. If you like the feeling and architecure of homes from back in the day or want a taste of nostalgia, this is the place you want.

We came to volunteer for the community. We had everything we needed and response time was great and informative! All as expected and helped to be close to our volunteer assignment! Thank you!!

This is a large beautiful home. The porch and mountain views were a great escape and a joy to wake up to. Will definitely be back!
