We loved our stay here. Luis and his wife Marie Cruz are wonderful, wonderful people. With hearts of gold! They did everything to make us feel comfortable and at home. I could not have picked a better place to stay in Barillas. Everyone was incredibly kind and gave me helpful recommendations and directions. The home itself was incredibly beautiful and exceptionally clean.

A cute and basic little hut with everything you need for a few days away from the hustle of the Mexican cities. It lies beautifully next to Lago Tziscao and with a nice view from the room. There is a private bathroom with plenty of hot water. We also really enjoyed the feature of the hammock where we relaxed and cuddled their dog, Roki, who was so sweet. In general, the family who owns this place are really kind and helpful and we felt at home at their place. They have a restaurant on the site with very good food, breakfast and dinner, for a good price. The place in general could use a little tidying up, but it didn't bother us too much and it looked like they were working on some improvements. Tip: Can recommend taking the mototaxi from the town if you arrive by colectivo as we did and have all of your belongings with you. There is a tourist centre almost close by where you can rent kayaks and have a nice swim.
