Cottage vacation rentals in Wigtown

We had a lovely stay with our 3 dogs at heron view, we enjoyed the spacious living area and comfortable beds. The utility space was a great nook for the dogs if they were wet from walking. Lovely local pub (the Masonic) with friendly people and bar staff. The hot tub was a massive bonus! Thanks Donald We will be back!

Lovely time with family at this great cottage. We had never been to this part of Scotland before and Penpont was a very convenient base to explore from. The cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable stay for four adults - we loved the log fire and the hot tub! The kitchen is well equipped for self catering and the beds are comfortable. An excellent place to stay for small groups.

Such a magical place so peaceful and well looked after couldn’t have asked for anything better me and my partner and 2 kids really enjoyed our long weekend there will definitely be coming back

We loved our stay here, what a place! We were so impressed with the small little details such as the 3 boxes stacked full of dvds which made us feel so nostalgic! A large selection of games to play. Lots of chocolates and biscuits in the room. The cupboards were full of things you need such as cooking oil, utinsels, tea, coffee and hot chocolate saches ect. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was spotless. The hot tub and sauna are great, everything was top. The hosts were lovey also, very friendly and were always there at the end of a text or call if needed. Will definitely be looking to return in the summer!

Lovely place. Accurate pictures, though when you get there it feels even nicer than photos can show. Very friendly and responsive. Sometimes it can be quite a vulnerable experience travelling as an LGBTQIA+ couple, but here we felt welcome and safe. Hope to visit again with friends and family.

The Conifers is a wonderful, peaceful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring Dumfries and Galloway and coming back to such a wonderful relaxing spot each day. The hot tub water was checked daily and chemicals added if required which really impressed me. The lodges and cabins have plenty of room between them so you can be assured of privacy. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying here and we will be back.

For what our group wanted it was perfect not a bad word to say about the place, perfect or group weekend away in the country side just what a place!

We had a lovely time staying at Marni Cottage! It was a real home from home and an extremely warm house! Very quiet area, and very peaceful. There are lots of games and a great guest book! The house is packed full of everything you need, and the home owner is extremely good at responding to messages and very knowledgable about where we can eat out and where we could visit! I highly recommend Muncaster castle! Would stay again!

Just arrived home after a great week in Girvan. We used the cottage as a base as we were visiting family and wanted our own space. The cottage was as described it was clean and comfortable. We had a rotten storm unfortunately and with the bedrooms being in the loft space it was a little noisy but obviously we can’t control the weather! We had everything we needed though and was warm and comfortable. The owner was very helpful and flexible to us possibly arriving a little early. Only small complaint was the small velux window in one bedroom let the light in quite early and we like it pitch black so maybe a blackout on those that don’t have them. Apart from that everything was lovely for a comfortable stay and very peaceful. 2 minute walk to a beautiful beach!

Very kind and welcoming hosts. It’s a lovely peaceful experience to stay on their working farm. The sunset from the kitchen looking out at the horse and sheep in the field was beautiful. The stars at night are so clear too and the chickens outside in the morning was very cute my children loved seeing the animals each morning. Short 20 min drive for most shops and kids activities/farm parks but great amenities in kitchen for cooking there too.

Felt like home! Lovely setting. So convenient for seeing the western lakes with fewer tourists. Big rooms, lots of space, dogs loved it. Would definitely go back!

Had a lovely stay at the byre. Nice property and very central to be able to travel around for great woodland dog walks and exploring the lovely small towns. Such a beautiful part of the country.

I had a lovely few days at Lesley's place. It's secluded and quiet which is just what I was after. The views are beautiful and I was lucky enough to have clear skies to do some stargazing. The house itself is well set up and comfortable. Lots of great locations within a short distance and Lesley had some nice recommendations of places to go. I would advise to arrive in good daylight as the track to and through the farm is very dark.

Kerry is a wonderful host, and her place was very comfortable, we immediately felt like home. It's a little bit of a drive to everything wee wanted to see , but if you have a car it's perfect. Would definitely recommend.

We had a great lovely few days at the acorn cottage. Clean and very friendly hosts. Peaceful time and memories made!

Alec and Nikki were wonderful hosts, always quick to respond to questions and offering help. The cottage was perfect for us and our children and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Thornhill.

My son and I stayed at the cottage for 4 nights whilst we went to watch the Open golf at Troon. It was a lovely, peaceful location to return home to, to relax after long days walking round the golf course. The cottage is well equipped and situated in the beautiful grounds of Cloncaird Castle - stunning.

The house was warm and comfortable with everything we needed. We appreciated the Christmas tree and decorations which made it feel especially welcoming. It is in a scenic and peaceful area with some interesting places to explore nearby. The conservatory and garden would make it an ideal place to visit in the summer. We would certainly recommend this property.

The cottage was great... clean, comfortable, plenty of space (bigger inside than what you would think) and very quiet. Was ideally situated for us, visiting family in nearby Dalrymple. Would happily stay here again.

We had a lovely stay at Sarah's cottage. Communication was great, nothing was missing, it was very confortable and the garden is beautiful. Egremont is a lovely village and a perfect place to discover Cumbria and beautiful Lake district from. We will definitely be back!
