A lovely place to stay.

Rose Cottage is a lovely, old fashioned, quirky cottage - with lots of interesting objet d’art to discover throughout your time there. I loved how it is tucked away from the street, making it a really private space. Danielle was really informative about the surrounding areas and was on hand for queries. The living space downstairs is really relaxing (two of us learnt how to play chess in the lounge!) The outdoor space is really valuable as, I should imagine, in Appledore having a big garden is a real treat. The location is amazing - a minute’s stroll down to the quay - with the wonderful local shop, John’s, a stone’s throw away. We had fantastic weather, having lots of hot beach days in Croyde and Saunton Sands, but also loved catching the 5 minute ferry across to Instow village and beach. The attics bedrooms were a little warm (it was a very hot week), but Danielle kindly provided us with a fan which certainly helped on the top floor. Appledore is a magical place with beautiful cottages, great restaurants and Sylvester’s fish and chips are scrumptious - the first time I think I have ever managed to eat a whole battered cod! A madcap feast for the eyes! If you want a standard Airbnb filled full of IKEA then this place isn’t for you. If you want an authentic (and original) experience in a great location - then book it. Open fires, art, antiques, the sea all make up the DNA of Appledore and typify Myrtle Cottage as a microcosm of North Devon’s prettiest fishing village (that you don’t have to pay to visit!)

A Perfect Devon Escape – More Than We Could Have Hoped For! Our 3-day stay at this spacious North Devon villa was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the welcoming touches – including three bottles of wine that set the tone for a truly relaxing getaway. The kitchen was fully equipped, not just with all the essential utensils and appliances, but even stocked with some food items – a rare and thoughtful detail that made cooking a pleasure. Every corner of the villa is beautifully decorated, with stylish bedrooms and elegant dining areas that make you feel right at home. The highlight, though, has to be the stunning garden – a peaceful haven complete with comfortable garden furniture, hammocks, a garden cot with bedding, a grill, a cozy fireplace, and even a camping fire setup perfect for evening gatherings under the stars. We had a wonderful stay at Alexander's house! The property was very clean, spacious and provided a comfortable environment for our family gathering. Each room was unique and generously sized, and having en-suite bathrooms in every room was a big plus. The hot tub was a great addition and made our evenings extra relaxing. Our only small suggestions would be that the football area outside is on a slope, which makes it a bit tricky to play on, and the barbecue could use a bit of maintenance/cleaning to be easier to use. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend this place for group stays!

Great accommodation for large family. Walkable distance to Ilfracombe centre. Shops, walks, beach, activities in town centre. Ilfracombe is a picturesque place, we went to Combe Martin dinosaur and wildlife park and Watermouth Castle while visiting and had a great time. Paula was very friendly and accommodating and the place quirky, fun and clean.

Shackled-Am-Not is definitely at the top of places we have stayed at. From the luxurious kitchen with plenty of kitchen gadgets and lots of equipment for the whole family, to the beautiful lounge area with plenty of seating for everyone to have a great catch up on the evening. The bedrooms were so clean and comfortable, the en-suite bathrooms was a lovely luxury. We enjoyed the games room playing pool and darts. Would like to say a massive thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful home, we will definitely recommend it to our friends and family and would love to stay again. Doubt we could have found anywhere better to accommodate our family holiday. From toddler to teenager to grandparent the house worked on every level! Plenty of space and the pool was the icing on the cake - loved by all! Easy walk to the beach across the fields and to Tintagel on the costal path - stunning views. Yes a little steep on way back as has been mentioned in previous reviews, but my daughter managed at 8 months pregnant so really not a problem. Great location to visit other attractions in Cornwall. Ate at both pubs close by, great food and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend the house and location, especially for mixed age groups.

Great host and great accommodation. We have stayed on this site many times but never with Donna - we have already booked to go back for a week in August. Location is superb if you have young kids as it’s situated right next to the play area. Lodge was perfect and exactly as described and Donna was great providing instructions and information prior to our arrival. Highly recommended.

Our stay at Helens place was like a home away from home. It was a perfect little getaway for our family. I was so stunned to see all of the extra things Helen had provided so we had everything we needed. I loved being able to use her dish washer as we dont have one ay home and i even washed a few loads of my clothes whilst there which was a god send. I haven't been the easiest guest (having left a bag behind with some expensive items in it) however Helen got her cleaner to post these things out to me and paid for this charge. I am forever greatful.

Nile are a awesome man how help me a lot. My plan with the without the house couldn’t take me and my friends, so we were standing without anywhere to live thanks to Neil. My wife didn’t divorce me.

Me, my husband and 2 children had a fantastic stay for 4 nights over the Easter weekend. The home was spotlessly clean, very spacious and on a lovely holiday park with lots of amenities. A great central location to visit lots of different parts of Cornwall, which we did. The rainy days didn’t stop us from having a lovely time as there was plenty to do indoors too. Julia is a great host, with great communication and lots of recommendations for us. Definitely recommend this lovely home and host x
