River Cottage Near Loch Lomond

River Cottage is a detached riverside property located in the quiet village of Croftamie on the edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. This charming cottage has been finished to a high standard and enjoys lovely views over rolling fields. The spacious decking area overlooks the river "Catter Burn" and is an ideal vantage point for watching the abundance of local wildlife. As an added bonus, free riverside fishing is available from within the grounds of the cottage and there is direct access onto open fields. The open plan living space has two large sofas (one being a sofa bed, making it possible to accommodate up to four adults). The kitchen area is fully fitted with table and chairs for dining. Local amenities are available in Croftamie, including a pub renowned for its delicious food and a number of small shops. Preferred lets are Saturday 3pm to Saturday 10am on a self catering basis, however if you wish to enquire about any dates/times outwith this or a short break then please contact me and I will try to accommodate you if I can. Accommodation details Ground floor Property is all at ground floor level, has electric oil filled radiators and comprises: Lounge Area: With electric stove effect fire, satellite TV/DVD, WiFi, sofa bed (there is an additional charge of £50 for bedding for the sofa bed) and patio doors leading onto decking area. Dining Area: With table and 4 chairs Kitchen Area: With electric oven and electric hob, kettle, toaster, tassimo coffee maker, microwave and fridge/freezer. Bedroom: With double bed, bedside cabinets, chest of drawers, hair dryer and view over farmland Shower Room: With shower cubicle, WC and wash basin. Facilities All power, bed linen, towels and bathrobes included. Cot and high chair available on request. Miscellaneous Small enclosed garden, large decking area with outdoor seating and BBQ (coals not supplied), with views over river. River access (youngsters take care!) and free fishing from river bank. Access to open farmland along river. Wireless broadband connection. Secure storage for bicycles and fishing equipment etc. Shared laundry facilities available on request. Off road parking for 2 cars.

Please note that there are a number of stairs to access the property, so may not be suitable for someone with mobility issues. On street parking.

This was a wonderful base for my friends and I who attended a birthday celebration in Glasgow. The house was spotlessly clean, warm, well furnished and very comfortable. The kitchen was really well equipped, bathrooms had lots of towels and the beds were super comfortable too! June was an exceptional host. Really helpful, communicative and even offered to leave a hot dinner for us as we had a late arrival on our first evening! Thank you Andy and June for a perfect stay!

To say this stay was “incredible” would be an understatement. Every review that says “my only regret is that I didn’t stay longer” was spot on! Not only was the cabin truly luxurious, with a breath taking view.. it was the hospitality that made it the best part of my trip. Gillian and Brian are MAGNIFICENT hosts and I enjoyed spending time with them. They really went the extra mile to make my stay memorable and they’re people I won’t forget in my life.

We stayed at Dreamwood Cottage as 2 adults, and with our 8 year old and 3 year old. It was warm and comfortable and very homely. It was very well equipped with lots of places to hang coats / keep boots and clothes too. The kitchen was really well equipped with cleaning products, herbs / spices and cooking equipment too. We had the unfortunate experience of having to visit the local Minor Injuries twice with our 3 year old son. They were incredible! And the cottage was just 15 minutes from it, so very well located. We also managed to get out and enjoy Ben Nevis, Glencoe, Loch Lomand Faerie Trail and some other sites. I’d definitely recommend Dreamwood Cottage. It’s in a great location to see so many sites and feels so cosy and inviting.

One of the best rentals we've ever stayed in. Firstly Eddie is a great host, from the communication, warm welcome, to the local recommendations and just overall friendly nature. He lives in the unit upstairs, so is close by to help with any issues. Secondly, the apartment was so cosy and comfortable, with every amenity you could need. The hot tub is in a shed just a few steps from the door - this meant we could use it even in the freezing cold weather, as we shut the door and stayed warm inside. The sauna was fantastic, so was the large shower cubicle. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of space to relax on the large couch. Location wise, the apartment is one of two, on a farm site not far from Balloch. The farm road leading to the site is just off the main road, which is convenient, but once up at the site it is totally quiet and peaceful, with an amazing view of the hills. We loved our stay and will definitely be back.
