If only the fishing had been a little better we could have spent more time at the cabin. Overall it was an awesome place to spend time, cook, talk and hangout with my Dad, Brother and Son for a week. Hope to do it again next year!

Aurora Lodge Houseboat YK 1-2 people

TheresaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Stephan's aurora lodge is a unique and amazing place. It's away from town on a lake in the forest, completely private, and utterly silent at night. And yes, we did in fact see the aurora starting from the bedroom window! Stephan is a fabulous host. We were very concerned about the cold for our aurora viewing in March, but he answered a million questions before the trip, and also hooked us up with a great winter clothing rental for our outside viewing. He even went above and beyond to pick up and drop off our gear when there was a mixup with the rental place delivery, even though we didn't opt for the VIP package. When we had trouble finding the place (we're unused to snow, we couldn't tell we were looking right at the road, duh), he came into town to rescue us and lead us out there. He's also a font of local knowledge and history, and a really fun guy to talk to. The best decision we ever made was ditching the package tours and waiting for the aurora in Stephan's cozy living room.

Waterfront Floating Home Discounted May And June

JillianRating, 5 stars8 months ago
We loved our staycation at this amazing float home! I was initially hesitant to book based on a previous review from Claire, however I am sooo glad I took a chance! Everything worked well for our stay and we were impressed with how new all the amenities were. The shower and all plumbing worked perfectly fine. A neighbor informed me all these float homes are on city water and city sewer which is incredible! Suffice it to say-the water was crisp, clear and oh so magical! We swam every day right off the dock and the water was perfect! We could see the fish in the water when we were fishing off the dock. The heat pumps were new Mitsubishis and kept the temperature at what we wanted. The showers worked great and having a bathroom for each bedroom was a real plus! A paddle board and kayak were provided and we loved cruising around the marina. Dont let one review dissuade you- this place is one of the best we have ever stayed at and we will be coming back again! So relaxing. Truly Perfect! A+

The Caboose, secluded float house in calm waters.

Lawrence (Skip)Rating, 5 stars8 months ago
This is not your average air bnb by any stretch of the imagination. And it certainly would not suit everyone's taste. But it's my all time favorite. Nothing fancy-- quite rustic-- somewhat remote--and it exceeded all expectations. Much has been written about Jim as host and it is all true. He's incredible -- born and raised in Sitka. A true outdoorsman and larger than life in some respects. He was a one stop shop: met us at the airport, helped us shop for groceries (if you forget something you will live without it for awhile), rented us an excellent skiff which allowed us to be mobile for fishing and peace of mind, and even was our fishing guide for a day. Bottom line those 4 days will be some of the most memorable of my life.

Aurora Lodge Houseboat 4 - 8 people

SadieRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
This is a one-of-a-kind accommodation. It is private, cozy, and the best of all—you can view the Aurora from the bedroom window. The location is amazing and allows you to see what it is really like living in the Canadian north. From driving on an ice road to get to the house to being surrounded by nature, this place has it all. Stephen was highly accommodating and welcoming, is knowledgeable about the area, and is quite the entertainer during down times. His VIP service gives you the option to sit back and relax while he prepares meals and takes you on adventures. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

The InnCharter is a magical experience from the family dinners to the floating sauna and everything in between. I was traveling solo and it was so nice to get to know the other guests as well as have solo time exploring Ucluelet and Tofino. It exceeded my expectations. Taylor and Josh are very welcoming, easy going, clear in their directions and hard working. It is so clear how much work they put into making this a great experience. I will definitely be going back!

What Ever Floats Your Cabin Choose Your Lakefront

BrettRating, 5 stars8 months ago
We had an amazing and memorable weekend on Deanna's houseboat, filled with lots of time in the water and exploring the lake. Deanna suggested we bring a tent or sleeping pads for our group of 4 guys, and that suggestion worked out perfectly. The houseboat itself was ideal, and we made great use of the paddleboards. While not the fastest boat on the lake (maybe the slowest?), we actually really enjoyed the relaxed pace of our exploring and spent plenty of time stopped to swim. Overall we loved the boat, and would highly recommend booking if you want a unique lake experience.
A wooden walkway is illuminated by soft lighting, leading towards a charming two-story structure. Reflections of the house and nearby docks can be seen in the calm water, with dramatic clouds overhead against a twilight sky.

Historic Ark on the SF Bay with dock and sauna

Noah's place is a gem within in Marin County. Having grown up in the area, I never knew the Greenbrae Boardwalk existing and I am so excited I do now! For three weeks, this was my home away from home and the house is equipped with everything to make you feel like that. Everyone on the boardwalk was super friendly, easy to get in and out of with a parking spot. Ideally located close to the ferry which I took often to the city, but also right off the freeway to drive. Amazing bike/walking paths to get anywhere around Marin by foot or bike. The house itself had a great kitchen and living area. The deck was large and beautiful to work from or relax at the end of the day. The main bedroom overlooks the water and views of Mt. Tam and is so peaceful along with two beautiful bathrooms. Noah was super flexible on my arrival and departure dates as they had shifted and worked with my schedule and very communicative and helpful. Highly recommend and hope to be back soon!

Delightful Houseboat Vacation

PhongRating, 5 stars20 months ago
Spent three nights on Lonni’s houseboat. My son always wanted to fish the delta, and Lonni found a perfect place for the houseboat to be docked. If you’re into fishing, take the kayak out for a spin, you won’t regret it. Lonni was in constant communication, and gave last minutes of what to bring. This is glamping at its finest. Checked in via text to make sure we were ok and if there was anything we need. Lonni is very personable, outgoing, and helpful. Would definitely come back in the future.

The houseboat was fun! It was in a great location. It was very peaceful and a novelty for us to stay on a boat. Mark was very helpful after we messed up our initial ferry and helped us figure out an alternate route to get there. He was always very responsive and very helpful. We would definitely stay again if we are back in the area.

Perfect 2BR Lakefront | Balcony |

ShannonRating, 5 stars6 months ago
The per-night charge was great; however, the $180 cleaning charge for two people for two nights was excessive (the cleaning charge was more than the nightly charge combined). I wish they would just advertise the total cost rather than slip in that cleaning charge (and we are extremely neat people who barely use anything). The place was as described. Great location. A little hard to find D dock at first, but Google helped. Very quiet little boat neighborhood. You can walk to a few restaurants, including a greasy spoon (Captain's Wheel) and a newer Italian restaurant (used to be JD's) called Taverna, which was pretty good, if not a tad pricey for the area. There's a waterfront pub-type restaurant and a taqueria within walking as well. The house was very clean, and although quirky (we affectionately called it the Winchester Mystery Boat House), it was eclectically charming, comfortable, and really fun to be on the water. Added bonus - you can bring a boat as there's plenty of dock space.
A houseboat is docked along a tranquil waterway, surrounded by dense green trees. The boat features a spacious upper deck equipped with lounge chairs. A wooden dock extends alongside, providing access to the water, while the sun reflects off the lake's calm surface.

"AT DOCK" HOUSEBOAT VACATION

TanyaRating, 5 stars21 months ago
We would highly recommend staying at Dave’s. The location is exceptional as is Dave’s willingness to ensure we had the best stay possible. He moved the boat so the kids could have the best slide area into the lake and set up the awning on the top deck so we could get some shade. He was so friendly and available for any questions. We will stay again!

Cute little cottage on the water. I do wish it was warmer to so that we could’ve kayaked or paddle boarded around in. The location is great because it’s away from all the people and the city but within a 10-15 minute drive to it all. I would definitely stay here again especially when it starts Warming up outside 👍

Puget Island Floating Home

PeterRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The view at high tide was better than the view at low tide - but the view at night from the deck in any tide was really special. It is so quiet and peaceful and with the moon on the water it is a spot to spend a lot of time enjoying. The weather was a little uncooperative for us at the time we were there but good enough for us to know we want to come back and take advantage of it all again. And we saw one of the otters right next to the back deck!
Two individuals are seen paddleboarding on calm waters, with one standing upright and the other kneeling. Lush greenery and a rocky shoreline are visible in the background under a partly cloudy sky.

Unique & Rustic Waterfront houseboat- w/Kayaks

CarolRating, 5 stars3 days ago
We visited with rainy, chilly weather. The houseboat was cosy to lay in bed and watch the rain (we brought a big sleeping bag to go over our sheets). By late morning (after walking to a local restaurant for breakfast) the weather was mild enough to take kayaks out into the slough for a few hours, drifting with the current or paddling against it. We saw herons and egrets, ducklings and goslings, and maybe an otter. Lots of fish and irises. The houseboat is small: think camping. It's very private. Bring a flashlight and/or a lamp for inside the boat and shoes to walk to the main house for toilet and nacho runs.

Beautiful, Luxurious & Oceanfront Blue Wolf Float Home

KariRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Our stay on the float home was a fun experience. Don and Sylvie were very responsive and wanted to make sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. It was an enjoyable experience in a great part of town! We would stay here again! The only note of feedback I would have is that you can feel that you are on the water (it is stated but not many commented on it). At night it calmed down and we did not feel it as much. Just something to think about if you are sensitive to motion.
