Family-friendly vacation rentals in Wellington City

Well appointed and clean room with ensuite bathroom, kitchenette, couch and desk. A very comfortable stay, with a private entrance and garden area. The hosts David and Kerry are amazing, they made me feel right at home from the small treats and welcome goodies they left in the room, to showing me the local sites, public transport routes, walking trails and restaurants.

An absolutely gorgeous house in an idyllic spot, overlooking the Wellington Harbour. Guthrie Cottage had everything we needed, and nothing we didn't. The beds were comfortable, the central heating was amazing, and the water pressure good. The ideal location to get away from any hustle and bustle, and to be lulled to sleep by the sea on your doorstep. We had a very peaceful, relaxing stay at Guthrie Cottage - will be back!

Thank you Tania. Absolutely perfect for my daughter and I. We are country lovers so this couldn’t have been better for us. Loved looking at the horses out the window / door. Loved the sounds of the birds in the evening and the morning. I got a little confused finding the cottage at first as I went up the left driveway to the main house, not the right driveway. But was able to get hold of Tania promptly and she was able to redirect me. This is a beautiful rustic type cottage with the space really well thought out. I didn’t mind the kitchenette in the bathroom. Obviously as long as you keep everything sanitary as you use it it’s not an issue. Kind of the same situation if you were to stay in a caravan everything is close together amenities wise. Was nice and warm and super cosy. Would absolutely stay here again. Thanks so much for your kind, friendly and inviting hospitality.

What an amazing place, with a view even more stunning than it appears in the photo! Everyday I felt compelled to take a photo of the constantly changing scene laid out in a 180 degree panorama. Benoit was a very thoughtful and responsive host, and it was everything my family (two adults, two kids) needed for our visit to Wellington. It is a very comfortable and beautiful house, and a handy location including shops a few minutes drive away and a great cafe a few minutes walk down the path. Although looks a bit out of town on the map, it is a short and easy drive into the city. Oscar the cat was soon part of the family and our son was very sad to say goodbye!

From a host perspective, Huong was very responsive, flexible and accommodating to our needs. We had a group of 10 staying at this location and it was unique and allowed us to stay together for a family wedding. In general, the place was as described. There were a handful of maintenance and cleaning items that could have been improved, but these did not distract from our stay at all. We had a large group and the garbage/recycling was a bit of a challenge without a vehicle the first few days, but we managed that too. The home is distinct and one of a kind, with rich history. The long drive was a great test for us and Uber drivers alike!! The grounds provide its own opportunity to explore and do some hiking and such. The views are incredible. I appreciate the opportunity to stay here. I understand the property remains for sale and look forward to see how this unfolds.

Great house in a beautiful location. Excellent amenities, beautiful design, perfect for travelling with pups. A few notes: - The # of steps up to the unit might be underestimated by a factor of ~5. Not recommended unless you're reasonably fit. - The bedroom doors don't latch. There are hook-style locks provided....on the outside of the door. Not a huge deal, just means you need to shove something under the door if you want to keep the dogs from nosing their way in. - The water from the tap gets _really_ hot. This is great for some things (shaving) and less great for others (shower, dishwashing) Overall an excellent spot!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house is super clean, modern, tidy and has new appliances and so on. It felt quiet and private and has a big back yard and off street parking. Our host were communicative and responsive, and check in was super easy.

Haiying's tree top apartment is absolutely delightful - with stunning views of the bay and Wellington. We loved our short stay - just wished we had longer to enjoy it!

Miramar is a little gem, a lovely restaurant at hand, native bush a short walk away, there's trolls!, and a Brewery. what's not to like

Lovely stay, felt like home. Warm and welcoming. Added bonus of portable cot use and toys to entertain the kids. Has all you need to enjoy and relax. Spacious enough for my Whanau. Very responsive helpful hosts.

Really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful restored Victorian villa conveniently located at the start of Oriental Bay and walking distance to Courtney Place, Te Papa Museum and other Wellington attractions. Great attention to detail on the fixtures, fittings and interior decor making this a truly charming place.

Trudi is a great host. Very responsive and instructions and communication was clear and friendly and very accomodating. We loved staying at this beach house. It works really well for two couples with the two big bedrooms and a bathroom in each. Trudi has provided everything you need and more. The house was nice and warm on the cold windy days and it was easy to live in. Being right across the road from the beach was a massive bonus. We loved our stay here and will be back. Thanks Trudi

Great spot close to town. Caroline was responsive and helped us with any questions or queries we had. Really clean and tidy. Matched the pictures to a T. Had a great stay and enjoyed our time.

Great apartment tucked away in the thick of it all — easy walking distance from Te Papa museum and the waterfront, easy Uber rides to Wētā Workshop and the airport, easy access to loads of restaurants and bars on Cuba Street. We had less than 48 hours in Wellington but this stylish place helped us make the most of it.

Margaret’s home perfect location in Karori for visiting Huntleigh Rest Home great 4 Square and food takeaways so close bye Bus outside gate to town. Margaret’s home beautifully presented sunny warm and cosy. Beds very comfortable, 2 bathrooms with all amenities supplied, everything so tidy and clean. Excellent communication and very accommodating Host you couldn’t wish for anything more thank you Margaret

We loved our stay in Wellington. Being there for 5 weeks we felt right at home in the apartment. The kitchen was well equipped and the large fridge and freezer was perfect. We loved the location being near the water and down the road from the supermarket. Giles was always very helpful and friendly. Would 10/10 recommend!

This apartment was just perfect - location was fabulous, walkable to cafes, shops, restaurants - it was spacious , not noisy and check in was easy. Loved the history of the building and the matai floors too. We had a fantastic Wellie weekend and would love to stay again sometime :) Thanks again x
