Vacation rentals with beach access in Watamu

We had a fantastic family vacation at the Lady D House. The large apartment, located within an exclusive resort, was perfect for our needs. Our kids especially loved the three swimming pools—it's a super kids-friendly place. The beachfront location is another big plus, offering stunning views of the beautiful 7 Islands Bay. The staff were incredibly nice and friendly. Kanata is an excellent chef, and I highly recommend asking him to prepare local dishes; we thoroughly enjoyed the fish and seafood. Scarlett was also there every day for housekeeping, ensuring we had a comfortable stay. Thank you to the amazing staff for making our stay so wonderful. Watamu is full of activities, making it an ideal vacation spot with some of the most beautiful beaches on the Indian Ocean. We hope to be back soon at the Lady D House!

The host was very accommodating, providing clear instructions and quick communication throughout my stay. The location was ideal, offering both convenience and tranquility. Asia's place is perfect. Worth the price. Not far from Malindi international airport which is veryy convenient. Its also quite easy to find transport to wherever place you want to go. There are nearby restaurants with clean, good and fresh food for those lazy to cook, like me 🤣. The studio has a very nice view and a clean and well maintained swimming pool. It has beachfront access. Vasco da gama pillar, the portuguese chapel, very famous tourist sites, are literally walking distance from the place. Yohh, this place is a 5 star . Waayy worth the price and Asia is also perfect and very responsive and a kind person🤍. Will definitely recommend the place to others and whenever I want to visit Malindi/Watamu I will consider the place.

This place is an absolute gem. My girlfriend and I had to extend our stay and needed a quite place to work remotely. This was it! Very peaceful, great internet and very temperate (never got too hot). Philippe, the host, was super responsive and very accomodating to our needs. Also the kitchen was superb, for any foody looking for a well equipped kitchen, this is the place. As for the location, it is very central, a 5 minute walk to both beaches, a new cafe just opened up on the corner for those looking for fresh croissants in the morning and there is a great gym about 1 minutes walk from the apartment. Loved it... and we will be back :)

It was definitely worth it! 🏖️ As a first-time visitor to Malindi, I found the guidebook incredibly helpful. The home is located in a safe area with easy access to transportation and plenty of places to explore and eat. 🌅 Trizah’s housekeeper, Lynette, was professional, kind, and always ready to assist with anything we needed. Our stay at Azzurra's place was fantastic! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The apartment itself was charming, impeccably clean, and beautifully decorated. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, making us feel right at home, and the location is so close to the Watamu Mall where you can find an ATM, supermarket, nice coffee shop, and means of transportation to go around. The pool area was like a private oasis beautifully landscaped, impeccably maintained, and just the perfect temperature for a refreshing dip. Whether we were lounging poolside with a good book or taking a leisurely swim under the sun, every moment spent here felt like pure bliss Furthermore, Azzurra went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We had a fantastic stay at Mwanana House! Of all the places we've stayed in Kenya (there are many), the team at the house were the best. We were so well looked after - Antonina catered after our every whim without being asked and preempting our every need, Karisa cooked us the best meals every day, and Katana kept the pool and garden beautifully clean. This team thought of everything with incredible attention to detail and with great patience around small kids. Thank you so much

Our stay at Villa Mkauju was absolutely fantastic! The villa is stunning, offering tranquility and comfort. Home from home! A beautiful spot - gorgeous gardens, a fabulous swimming pool and a lovely home with lots of space to spread out and relax. Tess is the host with the most. From the initial booking information until our departure, Tess made sure we had everything we needed and more. She had great recommendations for the local area and was keen to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We really can’t rate her enough. The team of staff led by Daniel, the chef, were also amazing. Daniel’s cooking was suburb- our evening meals were restaurant standard. We particularly enjoyed the locally caught seafood. All in all, an amazing stay in a gorgeous spot!

Joanna’s place was amazing. My daughter with 6 friends went there and Joanna was very supportive and welcoming. The house is large, breezy, in great conditions, with large en suite rooms. The girls had a cook who helped prepare breakfast and dinner for a very reasonable prize , the pool was cleaned daily and the place was excellent for groups of families or friends. I would highly recommend and we will definitely go back !

WOW!! What a fabulous trip had by all!! 8 adults and 1 baby stayed for 10 nights at Shuma house. We had an incredible trip. Shuma is breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful, you really feel at one with nature here!. Shuma house itself is stunning, plenty of space for everyone, all the rooms are quirky, spacious and full of personality. The staff were all very welcoming and accommodating, and all work incredibly hard to ensure we are well fed and looked after. Martin, Shumas chef cooked us the most delicious meals night after night! Lots of choice and flexibility with meal choices/timings/allergies etc. Robert was amazing and tended to our every need, especially our daughter Elkies needs! Thank you all so much for making our trip to Shuma House absolutely fabulous! It was an emotional goodbye, but it certainly wont be the last!! We will be back!! Thank you! 🤩

Lovely house, great pool, attentive but unobtrusive staff including a great chef. You need some reliable Tuk Tuk drivers to get to the beach and other places but you wouldn’t get a place of this quality/price by the beach. Both our families had an incredible stay at Watamu.

We had great time. Very convenient to reach the tourist attractions and restaurants. The host was super and responded promptly.

We had an excellent and restful stay at Claudio's! The photos do not do this listing justice - it is a very beautiful and thoughtfully designed space. The surrounding environment is very tranquil and just what we needed for our trip to Malinidi. The hospitalily of Henry is unmatched and he made checking in and checking out very seamless. I highlighly recommend Claudio's place. We will be visiting again!

My parents and I had an absolutely lovely time at Shell House. Kevin, the chef, was amazing, and Mercy, the housekeeper, was very sweet. Helga was extremely communicative throughout, even being a great help during a check-in at 4AM online, as well as giving tons of recommendations. The location is lovely - it's a bit off from the rest of Watamu but connected to a beach with some small bars. One thing to know is that it's not the best ocean swimming spot as there are lots of blowfish and sea urchins and it's shallow. But the lovely salt-water pool made up for it! There's a generator in the property so power always comes back on quickly and the Wifi worked very well. Overall, we had a fantastic time. Thank you!!

We had a great stay at Lucy’s place. Check-in was smooth and on time, and the place was clean and well-equipped with everything we needed. The swimming pool was amazing, and we were able to use it every day. The air conditioner kept us comfortable, and having a washing machine and iron was really helpful, especially with the clothes we brought. A cleaner came in regularly, which kept everything tidy. Getting to the main amenities and nearby cities was easy, and tuk-tuks were readily available to pick us up whenever needed. Overall, everything went smoothly, and I would highly recommend staying at Lucy’s place!

Susan’s place is a true gem. The beds were comfortable, always hot water and power, well equipped kitchen and a gorgeous pool and patio. Even niceties I dint expect like security cameras, house cleaning and a quality washing machine. You have all you need to live there autonomously. Next door is a great pizza place w vegan pizza and cocktails! Notes for families: the beach that is directly outside of Susan’s compound is not family friendly nor good for swimming (trash and khat chewers). But the cleaner swim able beach is just a 8 min Tuk Tuk ride away. Worth the distance to have such a gorgeous condo! The pool was shallow enough for my 5 yo to stand w her head above water but a short child or a younger child couldn’t stand. There is no “kiddie pool”

The house looks exactly like it does in the photos—no surprises, no disappointments. The view is stunning, and there’s a large shared pool that’s perfect for relaxing. Everything was very clean, and Silvia was incredibly helpful and always quick to respond. The location is unbeatable—it’s right on the beach, just a couple of steps away. Unfortunately, we visited during the low season, so we ended up going to Garoda Beach to swim. Still, I’m sure that during the high season, you can fully enjoy the beautiful beach right in front of the house. Overall, we had a great experience. If there’s one thing I would suggest improving, it’s the interior design. Replacing the bedsheets on the couches with proper covers would make the space feel much more polished—and truly deserving of more than 5 stars.
