Vacation rentals with lake access in Watamu

Cecilia is an awesome host. Her place is the perfect spot to tuck away in Malindi. Beautiful set-up with ample kitchen, adequate number of swimming pools, access to its private beach and lovely gated community set up. I highly recommend this place.

We felt like home for 4 days (and even better to be honest)! The cottage is very fancy! No air conditioned but the fans were sufficient for us as it is well designed and there is cross breeze. The place is extremely quiet and the swimming pool is a must! It's shaded excepted at mid day but we enjoyed it A LOT! It was actually perfect for us, and our two little ones (6 months and 2 years). Alex, the house manager, is very smiley and always willing to help. We could also walk around everyday as the neighbourhood seems safe (even by night to go to Palm Garden Hotel, at walking distance - take the torches provided by the house as no street light) Elizabeth, the host, is sweet and very responsive. We fell in love with the cottage and the team!

Absolutely faultless stay here, the place is gorgeous, clean, and so nicely decorated and designed. The pool is lovely it’s only a short ride away from everything you need and feels incredibly safe too. The staff are also so so helpful!!

This place is cosy and functional, carefully decorated, and you feel instantly at home. The bedrooms are practical, with a lot of space for your things, fans at the ceiling and optional AC. The outside is perfect for relaxing, both the terrace of the house as well as the one attached to the swimming pool. Nora and Arnold are lovely and made our stay even easier. Hamish is extremely responsive, helpful and very proactive in providing tips and useful suggestions. The house is not on the beach but at walkable distance, and in case, all necessary contacts of trusted transports and other services are provided...we used them for the whole stay, making all movements much faster and the overall experience even more enjoyable. Definitely recommended!

If you reach the gate to the Cashew Nut Cottage with a tuk tuk, you will certainly be a bit shaken and full of all kinds of smells, impressions and noise - but then the gate opens to another world. Eddi and the dogs welcome you, you trudge through sand to the cottage and it is clean, quiet and peaceful. The birds are chirping, maybe you can hear voices from the neighborhood or watch a red-headed gecko and while you're making coffee or tea, you take a cool shower and soon find yourself happy and content with a cup in one hand and with the other hand the dog greeting you on the terrace. Heavenly.

This place is definitely worth your time looking at. I thought I’d miss being right at the beach, but honestly, we looked forward to coming ‘home’ to Joseph and David and the calm, quiet, cool of Ruby House. We spent time reading, playing games, reconnecting and resting, as well as swimming and bobbing in the creek - listening and watching birds. It is so peaceful - chatting with fishermen, and just taking in the surroundings. We went for a few day trips- the Gede ruins are well worth an hour of your time, sand dunes north of malindi were great. And we LOVED Garoda Beach - much less seaweed and less busy. I could not speak more highly of the staff - they were present but not, flexible, understanding and really wanted to help make your time enjoyable. The rooms were so comfortable. I think it may be a little hot in the very hot month, but it gets a lovely breeze and there is always the one room to escape into for an afternoon nap if necessary - but we didn’t need to do this. Everyday my mum swam in the pool and said 'I'm in heaven'. That's almost all you have to know! The house is beautiful, the staff incredibly kind and helpful, the surrounding by the lake very quiet and with a nice open view, yet close from the main road and walkable to Pili pan. We loved it.
