The house is located on 850m over sea level, close to the national park, and there are many hiking trails next to it. It takes 35min down to the Beach at the Valle Gran Ray, with the car. Casa Afortunada is situated on the quieter side above the Barranco of Hermigua. From here footpaths lead - each in about 20 minutes - to the sea swimming pool El Pescante, to Playa Santa Catalina, to the Finca Canarias Aloe Vera, to 2 different supermarkets, to the restaurants El Faro and Tasca Telémaco, the bar Casa Creativa and a few other local eateries and cafés as well as various walking trails. By car it takes about 30 min to reach Playa de la Caleta and the capital, San Sebastián.
