“This is a fabulous spot. As it is the upper floor of a craftsman house so there are windows facing in each of four directions. To the north you look out on the Barton Nell Heritage Grove of Douglas Fir - impressive trees! The bed is very cozy, the work desk area is spacious and includes a printer, the mini frig and kitchen area are functional, the entire place is open and spacious. There are plenty of drawers and a place to hang clothes for a longer stay. I spent a very happy week here working on a writing project. It was perfect. Stephan is a kind and responsive host and you will have all the privacy you could want. I definitely hope to return.”

This floating home is perfect for a romantic getaway, business travelers and solo adventurers. Located close to downtown and the airport with 24 hour access and gated parking. And no, it doesn't rock like a boat! Easy walking distance to nearby shopping and restaurants. Wi-fi, full kitchen and even laundry! Recently remodeled by a noted interior designer. You'll love it!
“Bodies of water are very therapeutic to me - thus, this houseboat was the epitome of relaxing by the water. Even though the weather wasn't the best while I stayed there, I can imagine how beautiful it must be to sit on the back deck and drink up the sunshine. There is a clear view of the marina, and the boats are fun to look at. The geese are definitely a part of the ambiance on the back deck as they swim by or up to the deck. I also enjoyed the feeling of the floating home moving on the waves from the boat wakes - it wasn't overwhelming, more so soothing gentle rolls. The houseboat itself has great design elements, in particular I enjoyed the hand painted floors. I would advise that this houseboat is meant for those who are athletically inclined as there is a bit of a walk to the houseboat down a steepish ramp from the parking lot. In addition, the stairs could be difficult for some to maneuver, particularly to get to the bathroom in the middle of the night. However, there is an option to sleep on the futon on the main level. Another thing to note, this houseboat is located very close to the airport. Depending on your point of view, you could either really enjoy watching planes take off or not enjoy the sounds. In particular, there was a fighter jet taking off that woke me up in a disconcerting way as it was very loud - but I assume that was a rare circumstance. Also, the first time that I entered the codes to get to the houseboat (there are three - a gate to open into the parking lot, a gate to open to leave the parking lot, and a gate to open to get to the dock itself) there was a bit of a learning curve. But once I got it, I was good. I do understand the reason for all the gates, but I advise writing the codes down in advance (including the x) so it doesn't frustrate you upon arrival. It is definitely worth the trek once you get to the houseboat. Overall, I loved my stay and would recommend to anyone that wants to experience staying on a houseboat! As with anything - it is what you make it.”
We would love you to stay at the Arnold guesthouse! Conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood near PDX airport (7.5 miles), I-205 and restaurants/grocery/shops. The guesthouse is an additional dwelling unit to our home and is separated by a staircase that is closed (very little noise and private). It has a private driveway and keypad entry. The unit is a studio style space, with kitchenette, lounge and dining areas. It has a a separate bathroom and walk-in closet with plenty of storage.
“Travis & Rachel were outstanding hosts. Their space was wonderful and really close to everything! They were stocked with a multitude of amenities. There were countless times I needed something but instead of making a quick trip to Target, I was able to find it already provided! Everything was thoroughly cleaned and sanitized which brought us a lot of comfort due to the ongoing pandemic. We even had food doordashed to us but the dasher has brought our food to their door and Rachel graciously brought it to us herself! Absolutely outstanding hospitality. I would definitely recommend them to anyone thinking about visiting Portland or Washington! Thank you again so much for everything!”
