Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Vamos

The place was great. Location was perfect for us: close to some true gems food wise, beaches, wineries, etc. We loved it. We stayed 1 week, so we truly got a chance to enjoy it. Was also able to yoga in the morning with a view on the olive trees. All the little attentions made us feel welcomed.

We stayed for one week and had a really great time. The house is beautiful and very spacious. The host was always easy to reach and we got many recommendations. We would really recommend this beautiful house, we want to come again next year!

We spent a few wonderful days at Anastasia-Maria`s place around the Greek Easter celebration. Anastasia was so nice to prepare a table with different typical Easter things, like the red Easter eggs, the Lambades, some Koulourakia, the EasterBrioche and had prepared little notes to explain the easter traditions. That was amazingly kind !!! Whenever we had a question she answered within a very short time, always helpful and very friendly. The place is a beautifully calm place, where two adults and one teenager could recharge indoors and outdoors. It would easily fit another two people. We had regular cat visitors outside the kitchen door :) You will need a car to get there and to explore places like Rethimno, Chania, Elafonissi or Preveli. There are taverns in the surrounding villages and a Mini-supermarket 5 minutes by car down the road. We can highly recommend this place and will come back in the future. This place is fantastic. Two outdoor seating areas both with breathtaking views facing west so you can watch the sunset. We were there in December during Christmas and they had a nice wood burning stove to help warm the house in addition to an electric heater. There is nothing like the ambiance of a wood burning stove . They provided all of the firewood. They also had a fully stocked kitchen . It was an easy walk to town with all the restaurants. Almost all of which were closed when we went. The beaches are a walkable distance. One of the highlights was the Aradena gorge, a 30 minute drive. The trailhead is in a beautiful ancient town. The hike is technically challenging due to loose rocks. Honestly, one of my favorite things was the area. Off season, it is incredibly quiet and peaceful. I loved seeing all the goats and sheep on the hillsides. One thing to note is the bedroom is on the third floor and the bathroom is on the first floor. This was not an issue for us.

The location of villa Adriana is perfect for people who love the quiet country side. No neighbours, but some goats , sheep and a cat who can see you walking in pyjamas in the garden in the morning. Very comfy and really huge beds! The kitchen has all the utensils you need to cook. There could be more light above the (electric) stove. The one from the extractor hood didn’t work. Compared with the beautiful bathroom and bedroom downstairs the kitchen is rather outdated. It was fine to cook nevertheless , especially with the delicious olive oil Alexandros gave us! Unfortunately it was not warm enough -end April, start of May- to swim in the pool, but the view of the pool with the garden full of flowers and olive trees and, on the background, the mountains still covered with a bit of snow was stunning anyway! I loved the road to the house: first drive through the village with narrow streets and then through the olive yards. Last but not least: the host Alexandros is very kind as well!

Great stay at the place! Very accommodating and welcoming host who ensured we had a memorable experience. Lovely pool and amazing views as well!

We had a wonderful stay in Aptera. The location was perfect; close to Chania and an easy drive to other locations in western Crete but still rural, quiet, and private. There's an incredible view of the mountains right out of the front door. Mihalis was really friendly and gave us many local recommendations. We highly recommend a stay here!

Clean, charming and rustic accommodations that are conveniently located close to Imbros Gorge and other local hikes. There were cooking supplies (pots, pans, utensils, coffee maker etc…) available for use. The views from the accommodations were beautiful with your own roof top views. The village was very quiet and peaceful. The hosts were very kind and accommodating. Highly recommend.

Fantastic Airbnb and host! Looks just like the photos and is part of a lovely, authentic square in Maza village. We were so impressed with the hosts who went out of their way to supply us with a baby cot. The Airbnb also came with things like coffee, tea etc which was a lovely touch. Highly recommend!

It was a perfect place! George and family were very welcoming! Our daughter was even allowed to play upstairs with his children! Apartment was nice, spacious and very clean! With large balconies (with fantastic views) and a spacious garden that was perfect for our 4 year old daughter. From the garden, we got lettuce, eggs, sheep's milk and olive oil. Close to the beach, nice restaurants and hiking trails. Worth repeating! We enjoyed it :).

Highly recommend to anyone coming to the area. The place is exactly as in the pictures and it met our expectations and even more. The location is perfect, the apartment is incredibly clean and everything we asked for, we immediately received a response. The pool with a perfect view. And most importantly - Mina, the owner of the place. She was in daily contact with us to recommend attractions and restaurants and more.. And took care of every detail during our visit. We felt like family. And we will definitely be back in the future..

Words can’t describe how incredible this home is. Every corner you looked there was a masterpiece to be found. Beautifully decorated is an understatement, this Airbnb was curated over years and years of living. It was nested in the heart of the town. I will 100% be coming back. Hidden gem! Loved this home, literally two minute walk to Golden Beach. Katerina is so sweet (she met us in-person, had local restaurant recommendations, and even provided a bottle of wine). The home was perfect for our group of 6 (great value for the money, too). Would 100% come again!

We had a wonderful stay at this apartment. I think it was the perfect location just outside the old town - very easy to walk into old town or along the marinas to many restaurants and shops yet also easy access for tours and outings outside the city. I loved Crete and would recommend this Airbnb to others. Some of the restaurants we enjoyed in the area (easily walkable from the apartment) include Maiami, El Gato, and SALIS. We also enjoyed a cooking lesson, snorkeling boat trip, and olive oil tasting.

Stavros was fantastic, as was the history of this wonderful place. Rethymno was a beautiful town and we explored everywhere on foot. We decided on walking in the morning and then having a late lunch (each lunch was fantastic) and walking back up the hill to have a light supper on the deck at sunset. Beautiful and thank you so much for the care you put into your house to make it a wonderful experience.

We had a very pleasant stay with our 4 month old baby. The hosts where very accommodating and overall the apartment is well equipped. Location wise its super close to nice beaches and to the lovely villages around Vamos. Also Chania is easily reachable by car. All in all very recommended. Only downside were the sheets, but its typical for greece. I guess we are spoiled with our egyption cotton/satin fitted sheets🤣

We absolutely LOVED our stay here. It was located in a more local area about 30-40 minutes from downtown Chania. We were surrounded by stunning views in the mountains. It was quiet, peaceful, and private. Sofia greeted us with such a friendly welcome and a delicious home cooked meal. She was very responsive too. We also enjoyed her local restaurant recommendations. The home itself is beautiful, it was lovely learning about its history and how beautifully traditional the home was kept yet equipped with many updated amenities. Note that renting a car is a must! We would highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone.

The team at Etouri were all very polite, helpful and quick to respond from the initial booking and througout the stay. The villa itself looks even better the pictures and is very private, depite the two properties on either side because the villa is on such a large plot. The flow of the villa inside is very logical and works really well and the whole place was gleaming when we arrived, despite being a little bit earlier than we had advised the host. The owner gave us a really warm welcome, including a fantastic home made moussaka that was the best we had eaten in Greece over the last 20 years, plus a dessert , a greek salad and some pastries. The rooms are really clean and comfortable and the outdoor areas are just as good with a padel tennis court, table football and a large pool with very comfortable sun loungers. The location is about 900 metres up hill from several tavernas in Plaka itself, but the walk is not too steep and gives you privacy whilst still being in easy reach.

We had a very pleasant stay at Villa Galania for 5 nights in May 2025. The facilities were excellent and clean. The location is peaceful, with beautiful mountain views. If you are looking for a place to relax and forget the city's hustle and bustle, this place is worth considering. The host's guide app on the phone is invaluable, providing good instructions and tips both inside and outside the villa. The mattresses were too firm for our taste, but we bought a new thicker mattress topper for the master bedroom, which made sleeping much more comfortable for us. We left the topper on the master bedroom bed for future guests to enjoy. This was our choice, and I do not want to criticize the host for this. However, if you are used to a soft mattress, the beds might feel hard. The villa is in a remote area, so I recommend renting a car. Follow the host's instructions to reach the villa, as Google Maps or other navigation apps will likely get you there via smaller and narrower roads.

The place is gorgeous, well-maintained and in an excellent location. The house is nicely furnished and AC is available in all rooms (needed in summer because flat roof). The village of Vryses is perfect to go out for meals and to buy everything that‘s needed on a daily basis - grocery stores, a butcher shop, bakeries, smaller craft shops, pharmacies, a toy store and much more. Good speed wifi and a nice layout of the garden and pool area. The hosts are just perfect: they provided us with many tips for local food and sights, and very communicative yet conscious of one‘s privacy. Strong recommendation!

A perfect cretan get away. Highly recommended. We had wonderful stay there. The property is very well maintained with modern comfort and traditional charm. We were spoiled by warmth and generosity of the host and locals. Really appriciate the care given by Katerina and Maria. Outdoor area is very well maintained and also the highlight of the villa with the beautifull view of cretan landscape. We also love the two resident cats, even named them Razia(brown cat) and Azra(black cat). We will miss them too.

We stayed for 10 days at Alexandra’s villa and wished we could’ve stayed for more. It was a quiet and stunning location. The villa was really clean and had all the amenities we needed. Alexandra greeted us and had fantastic homemade and local food waiting for us which was well needed after our travels which was very thoughtful of her. Throughout our stay she was extremely helpful with any of our queries and gave us great recommendations for places to visit, eat and shop. We couldn’t recommend her enough. This is a gorgeous villa to rent for couples and smaller families looking to steal clear of busier stays on the island. The only thing we would suggest for people thinking of renting the villa is to not rent a very large car / truck / van as the roads are quite tight in places. Anything larger than what we rented (BMW X1) would struggle in the town but that has absolutely no negative reflection on our host nor Airbnb. All in all an exceptional host and a perfect villa. Sunset Villa - it’s peaceful location and surroundings, amenities, cleanliness and views - oh the views - ticked every box. We had the perfect stay. Doron was easy to communicate with and was very helpful and flexible. We hired a car and visited Chania, Rethymno, Kalyves, Vamos, Lake Kournas (hired a pedalo and saw the turtles) and had several lazy days on Almyrida beach. So many great places to eat down in Almyrida plus several tavernas easily walkable in Plaka. Highly recommend Elpis. Everywhere we ate the food was wonderful and the people so welcoming and generous. Complimentary bread, wine, dessert, coffee, Raki.. The villa offered everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the pool, and having breakfast and relaxing evenings on the terrace. We’d highly recommend and hope to return. Thanks Doron!

We traveled with friends and babies (a total of 4 adults and 2 babies (8&10 months old)) to the villa to Savas & Maria and the villa was fantastically beautiful (even more beautiful than in the photos)! For our tour group, the villa was just perfect, we had our peace, could relax and the children had enough space to play on the giant terrace. Savas & Maria kindly provided everything necessary for our kids (crib, baby chairs, a small inflatable pool and plenty of toys). Cleanliness is very important in the villa, the villa was handed over to us in perfect condition! The villa was rounded off in the evening by the overwhelming sunsets! Savas & Maria were extremely communicative, gave us great recommendations and were always available! We would like to express our sincere thanks again for your warmth, hospitality and a fantastic stay! If we come back to Crete, we'll come back to you!
