Family-friendly vacation rentals in Vamos

My boyfriend and I stayed 5 days in the accommodation and were very pleased with our stay. The apartment is on the first floor of a beautiful modern house. The apartment was very well equipped, there was nothing missing. The beautiful terrace with a hot tub is worth mentioning. The location is great. It is about 15 minutes drive to the center of Chania. Several beaches are within walking distance. The house itself is in a quiet location. It offers a good base for exploring Crete. Katerina and her husband are great hosts. Upon arrival, a fresh Greek salad, oranges and wine awaited us. We got fresh vegetables from the garden a few days later. Katerina was always available and very friendly. We felt very comfortable. Overall, we would recommend the accommodation! 5/5 stars!

It was super nice here. We were warmly welcomed and communication went smoothly. The place is as pictured. You're a bit up the mountain, which is super nice because it's much quieter there. The city and the beach are within walking distance. We were very satisfied.

Book this Airbnb. Do not think twice. Nice to be greeted with wine and snacks after the flight over. 3 styles of coffee makers with coffee. Sugar, spices, olive oil and balsamic to get you started. 4 bedroom 3 full baths. Great living and cooking areas. Very spacious for our group of 7. Clean and comfortable. Equipped with everything you could ask for. We made a few terrific meals with the grill and kitchen equipment. Harilao has put a lot of thought and planning in to his home. Gorgeous outdoor space with heated pool. Indoors is clean and uncluttered. The views are lovely. 1 minute on walk up the street to fresh bread daily and cute market. 3 minute walk down the street is a bigger market. 4 minute walk to my favorite beach. 8 Euro for 2 chairs and an umbrella. Bar right there if you want a drink. Walk to coffee, pastries, restaurants and bars near by. We loved the home and beach so much that we slipped a few day trips. 5 stars. I hope to come back! Amazing home.

Our stay in Chania was wonderful. The apartment is very spacious and the outdoor areas are beautiful. Ioanna was very accessible and friendly.

Great stay, great location, great views. Very close to many bars and restaurants. Not too noisy at night. The only slightly negative aspect was the shower. Basically made the entire floor flooded. Overall, i would recommend the place and would definitely return.

Hidden gem! Loved this home, literally two minute walk to Golden Beach. Katerina is so sweet (she met us in-person, had local restaurant recommendations, and even provided a bottle of wine). The home was perfect for our group of 6 (great value for the money, too). Would 100% come again!

Very nice modern house (less than five years old?) overlooking the sea. Everything in very good working order, including powerful air conditioning in the bedrooms. Frequent cleaning of the pool area was a benefit, particularly when a storm had come in the night before. Very convenient to Rethymno as well as to several bakeries and restaurants towards the centre of the island.

What a wonderful house! We were surprised to be so close to 2 lovely beaches, great hikes and a delicious restaurant. We’re a family with 3 young kids and they loved the swing, swinging bench, jacuzzi, space to play inside. Dimitris left a baby crib, high chair, and toddler potty for us which was super helpful. The best was Dimitris was very kind upon greeting us late at night when we arrived.

Four friends and I stayed in this rustic, charming, beautiful and overall homie space for 7 days while we attending a wedding and we all unanimously could not have been more happy! This is a space that you feel so great walking into over and over. I had the best meal of my life with the entire party literally around the corner… maybe 20 steps and we were all in glee. The entire area in old town is gorgeous. You cannot see it any other way. There is a vibe to match your needs somewhere around another corner no matter what you look for on your trip. Shopping was excellent. The feeling of safety was consistent throughout the trip. People are friendly and common throughout the town even throughout the wee morning hours as many places do stay open quite late to always provide an option. I had said by day 1 I knew I would already come back here. Vassilis was a proactive and responsive gentleman in hosting. Truly a pleasure to deal with him and I really do hope to return for vacation. There will not be enough superlatives to describe this place. The location overlooking the Venetian Harbor was amazing. The house is historic, beautiful and has all the amenities you will want. You literally won't believe the large rooftop deck with crazy views. The house had lots of interesting things to read, lots of space for a large group and it was stocked with maps and guidebooks. The neighborhood is completely safe. The in-person welcome from the hosts contained some really thoughtful surprises (you will need to find out yourself - I won't ruin the surprise welcome.). Fantastic Villa for our family party. Spacious, well equipt and with lovely pool and view. There are nice (and inexpensive restaurants within walking distance too). Neighbourhood was peaceful. We felt very much at home, mainly due to the fantastic hosting. Georgia and Andreas are so friendly. Cheerful , beautiful people. They want to make every part of the stay special. Thank you both! ❤️

This place was super cute and very convenient in a area in town that is close to everything but not loud at night and less touristy. I would definitely recommend it and he was very responsive as a host. Every time I call he was there right away and answered right away. The place is also very attractive.

Fantastic property with its own terrace affording great views over Chania. Loungers, tables, chairs, coffee table, soft chairs all there for our own personal use. Large canopy affording shade to sit under. Inside a gem. Spotless interia with quality bed linen and a beautiful set table with linen napkins. All you need in the kitchen, plenty of crockery and cutelry, pans etc. Large TV with Netflix available. Anastasia was an attentive host availanble to assist if/when required very swiftly. Recommend this accomodation for couples.

Wonderful Experience at the Villa Elias! Our stay at the villa was perfect. The sea view was breathtaking, especially during sunset – a true sense of calm, quiet, and complete privacy. Choosing this villa was an excellent decision, especially because of the heated pool, which the kids absolutely loved. They enjoyed both swimming and playing in the spacious garden. The villa is well-equipped, with many useful items that made our stay very comfortable, including an air pump for pool toys. The location is also great – close to shops, supermarkets, and pharmacies. Very well equipped house, with a friendly owner who met us on arrival. Really felt like a home from home. Lovely, shared, pool. Quiet surroundings in a very small village, with a good taverna almost next door. Good location to explore the north coast, easily driveable to the beach, Chania and Rethymon. We wished we'd booked to stay longer.

We had a very pleasant stay at Villa Galania for 5 nights in May 2025. The facilities were excellent and clean. The location is peaceful, with beautiful mountain views. If you are looking for a place to relax and forget the city's hustle and bustle, this place is worth considering. The host's guide app on the phone is invaluable, providing good instructions and tips both inside and outside the villa. The mattresses were too firm for our taste, but we bought a new thicker mattress topper for the master bedroom, which made sleeping much more comfortable for us. We left the topper on the master bedroom bed for future guests to enjoy. This was our choice, and I do not want to criticize the host for this. However, if you are used to a soft mattress, the beds might feel hard. The villa is in a remote area, so I recommend renting a car. Follow the host's instructions to reach the villa, as Google Maps or other navigation apps will likely get you there via smaller and narrower roads.

The location of villa Adriana is perfect for people who love the quiet country side. No neighbours, but some goats , sheep and a cat who can see you walking in pyjamas in the garden in the morning. Very comfy and really huge beds! The kitchen has all the utensils you need to cook. There could be more light above the (electric) stove. The one from the extractor hood didn’t work. Compared with the beautiful bathroom and bedroom downstairs the kitchen is rather outdated. It was fine to cook nevertheless , especially with the delicious olive oil Alexandros gave us! Unfortunately it was not warm enough -end April, start of May- to swim in the pool, but the view of the pool with the garden full of flowers and olive trees and, on the background, the mountains still covered with a bit of snow was stunning anyway! I loved the road to the house: first drive through the village with narrow streets and then through the olive yards. Last but not least: the host Alexandros is very kind as well!

We stayed for 10 days at Alexandra’s villa and wished we could’ve stayed for more. It was a quiet and stunning location. The villa was really clean and had all the amenities we needed. Alexandra greeted us and had fantastic homemade and local food waiting for us which was well needed after our travels which was very thoughtful of her. Throughout our stay she was extremely helpful with any of our queries and gave us great recommendations for places to visit, eat and shop. We couldn’t recommend her enough. This is a gorgeous villa to rent for couples and smaller families looking to steal clear of busier stays on the island. The only thing we would suggest for people thinking of renting the villa is to not rent a very large car / truck / van as the roads are quite tight in places. Anything larger than what we rented (BMW X1) would struggle in the town but that has absolutely no negative reflection on our host nor Airbnb. All in all an exceptional host and a perfect villa. Cannot recommend this villa and host highly enough! We stayed here for our first stop in Greece on our honeymoon, and it was absolutely perfect. We had a very late arrival time and Katerina was kind enough to still meet us in person, and even had breakfast items for us at the house. The view from the house is gorgeous, and it was so nice to be outside of the hustle and bustle of Chania. Everything was exactly as described, super responsive and kind hosts, lovely beach and restaurants nearby. 10/10 would stay here again and recommend to anyone visiting Chania!
