Formally a fortified castle “Fort de La Bastide “ was constructed on the site of a Roman military station. The earliest historical mention is 1417 and it's long history includes an invasion in 1584 by Protestants during the period of the Huguenot wars. The fort has maintained many original features including the old stone staircase at the front door leading up to a 4 bedroomed loft apartment . There is full access to the large garden including an 10mx4m in-ground heated swimming pool .

Ideally located between two villages classified as "most beautiful village in France" (Vogüe - Balazuc), we live in a large building with terrace, with character, 10 minutes from Aubenas. We have 2 bedrooms in a row ideal for a family with children. Access to the house is via stairs
