Beautiful stone cottage in a mountain setting 20 minutes from Sitia. Stunning scenery! Villagers extremely welcoming and hospitable bringing wonderful Cretan baking. Host gave us a private tour of the nearby archeological site and then delivered dinner to us! We were fortunate enough to be given a walking tour of the mountain by a fellow Canadian in the village. An unforgettable experience in a warm community. A car is needed and follow Nikolaos’ directions carefully.

Eric and his place in Palekastro are THE BEST. Eric is a perfect host with great local recommendations and a friendly demeanor. He went out of his way to make sure I was well taken care of, and it’s clear that he really loves his village and sharing it with his guests. 100% recommend!

We loved our couple of nights in this cute stone cottage in an olive grove by the sea. Lovely thoughtful outside seating spots and we really appreciated the fruit for our morning breakfast before walking down the nearby Gorge of the Dead.

We were warmly welcomed by Irini who speaks perfect French, this helped us a lot because the fluid exchanges allowed us to ask all the questions about Crete in general but also what to see and know about Sitia and its region The panoramic view from the terrace of the accommodation is exceptional, a sight that you don't get tired of: sunrise and sunset, boats passing by, we even saw a dolphin. The accommodation is very quiet and isolated but still within walking distance of the dynamic seaside resort of Sitia: taverns, shops, entertainment... The accommodation is perfectly equipped and nicely decorated, the bedding is of great quality. I would 100% recommend this listing to discover East Crete.
