West Auchenhean, Rosie's Cottage

MichelleRating, 5 stars4 months ago
Flew in from Toronto, Canada to this beautiful home away from home. Barbara, Graeme (and Rosie) were extremely hospitable and welcoming hosts. The cottage has everything you need. Lovely, comfortable linens and beds, clean and modern bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen, and great and private hot tub. The location is very rural, but easy to find with google maps. The town of Kilburnie is close by with a grocery store, gas station and pharmacy among other amenities.

We had a lovely stay with our 3 dogs at heron view, we enjoyed the spacious living area and comfortable beds. The utility space was a great nook for the dogs if they were wet from walking. Lovely local pub (the Masonic) with friendly people and bar staff. The hot tub was a massive bonus! Thanks Donald We will be back!

Maberry cottage, a rural riverside escape.

CeliaRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Lovely place. Accurate pictures, though when you get there it feels even nicer than photos can show. Very friendly and responsive. Sometimes it can be quite a vulnerable experience travelling as an LGBTQIA+ couple, but here we felt welcome and safe. Hope to visit again with friends and family.

Sparrowhawk Cottage with Hot Tub

SharonRating, 5 stars24 months ago
The Conifers is a wonderful, peaceful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring Dumfries and Galloway and coming back to such a wonderful relaxing spot each day. The hot tub water was checked daily and chemicals added if required which really impressed me. The lodges and cabins have plenty of room between them so you can be assured of privacy. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying here and we will be back.

House with private hot tub and views of west coast

MelanieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We absolutely loved our stay here, the hot tub made it even better. Place was immaculately clean, no faults what so ever. Basic kitchen equipment which is all you need for a few days away. Plenty of restaurants, take aways and shop within the area if you’re driving so was able to have the option there if we fancied. Access was easy and it was easy to find, we both liked how it wasn’t on a public road etc and it was so peaceful at night. We were lucky to be able to see a sunset on our first night and that was fantastic, being able to be in the hot tub and have those views was just unreal. Even on our second night the weather wasn’t the best we still loved every minute of it. We cannot recommend this enough, we will definitely be back! Thank you both again

Shurig Cottage with Sauna and Games Room

Abigail NatalieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We stayed at Shurig cottage as family of 4 (kids 4 and 2 years) and grandad! The hosts were really helpful with pre trip and during the trip especially with recommendations of things to do and places to eat. The accommodation was spotless and had all amenities needed. We loved the modern cosy cottage feel! The outdoor space was great too! Highlights of the trip included blackwaterfoot beach which was a great sandy beach for the kids and we even had the kayak out too, Mara fish restaurant in Corrie, seals seen on the west coast, hiking to Machrie Moor standing stones and Kings cave! Both Brodrick castle and the Thyme cafe had great outdoor play areas for the kids (we loved the Pide there too)! We also loved Arran butchers and the bakehouse in Blackwaterfoot! Hamilton cottages is a perfect base for these activities and we will hopefully be back soon! Thank you!

Fabulous Coastal Paths & Woodland Walks

GrahamRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Delightful cottage - very comfortable and cosy with everything we could need provided. Kate and Angus were very welcoming and friendly. We particularly appreciated the invitation to roam anywhere on the estate and the welcome extended to our little dog. The snowdrops were especially beautiful at this time of the year. Lady Bay on the estate was a great place to walk the dog at low tide. The welcome pack provided by Kate was also well received and there were plenty of basic supplies provided - tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter, brownies and shortbread! Thanks for a great vacation.

The house is very comfortable and relaxing. There is plenty of space for everyone and it is attractively decorated and well equipped. The garden is absolutely stunning, one of the most beautiful cottage gardens I have ever seen. Ken and Gail were friendly and very helpful. A delightful stay. We have been coming to the area for many years and Apple Cottage is the best accommodation we have had. We will be back.

2 bedroom renovated barn with sea views

ChrisRating, 5 stars4 days ago
David’s place is in a lovely spot with great views over the Clyde and to Arran only a very short drive from the main coast road making getting around super easy. The place was spotless and everything had been thought of including leaving milk in the fridge and the fire ready made (which we didn’t light as the place is so warm and comfy). David was very friendly and messaged all the information we needed - overall would highly recommend.

Coach House @Slogarie Rewilding humans since 2019

CloverRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We have just returned from the most wonderful long weekend stay at the Coach House, and we loved every minute of it. The setting is so beautiful and peaceful, and we were so lucky with the weather to be able to enjoy the outdoor space all day and into the evenings, watching the little lambs in the field and the wildlife come and go from the pond, and listening to the bird song, it’s was glorious. The house is lovely, spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. We loved sitting out at the campfire at night and stargazing, and having a soak in the wood fire tub. We didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to return, it’s a very special place. Thanks so much to the Slogarie team for such a wonderful getaway, we will be back!

Doonbank Cottage Bothy

EmmaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Doonbank Bothy was lovely. Very peaceful surroundings and the river and woodland were beautiful. Chris was super helpful and responsive and we found the place very easily. His scones were warm when we arrived and lovely with a cup of tea after a long journey. We thought the added touch of his honey and Scottish tablet a nice thing to take home with us. Also to note the bed was very comfy like many of the other reviews have said. Thanks Chris. 👍🏻😊

Cozy 2 bed cottage with log burner close to Loch

EmmaRating, 5 stars2 months ago
From the moment we arrived we felt at home, the milk and eggs were a loving touch but the millionaire shortbread blew us away! The cottage was spotless and had some lovely features. The children adored the log burner and the goats and sheep out the back. We felt comfy, cosy and the cottage was highly maintained. We all had a great nights sleep, thanks for a fab stay…we would return in a heartbeat.

The cottage was charming, spotlessly clean and with a really well equipped kitchen. The log burning stove in the lovely sitting room kept us nice and cosy. Peaceful and picturesque location but within easy reach of the town. Only half an hour on foot. The Kirkcudbright Galleries facility and Swally & Scran seafood restaurant are both particularly worth visiting. And lovely people as hosts!

3 bedroom cottage . Ayrshire

JulieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Anne is a fantastic host, available but discreet. We stayed at her house on the way up to the highlands and on the way back as we were visiting fanily in Glasgow. Both times Anne had left some essentials for us and a lovely bottle of wine. On out second stay she has even got Easter eggs for our kids which they really appreciated :-) Anne's home was pristine and cosy, the kitchen is very spacious and the lounge comfortable. We loved having all the bedrooms on one level as sometimes the kids get a little scared in new places. The beds were very comfortable and there are good curtains as well. the bathrooms were clean and functional. We would definitely recommend and stay again!
