We are located very near the Royal Berkshire Hospital and University of Reading. We have a bedroom, garden room and bathroom for people to use during their stay (nothing is shared). There is a separate entrance to the guest's accommodation and there is no access to the main house. We have a cat who sleeps in the adjoining room (our utility room), but will not have access when guests stay. There is no breakfast supplied. There is on road parking on weekday evenings and weekends.

This was an excellent choice. Geeta is wonderful and makes you feel at home. Her home has everything you need and she makes you feel so comfortable. Geeta was also very understanding and helped with everything i required. The home is very clean and comfortable and i cannot fault anything. I felt very relaxed there and Geeta has that perfect balance of being the perfect host and letting you relax and feel like its yr home too. One of the very best . highly recommended. Thank you so much Geeta. I enjoy our chats too!

Evalyne’s place was super comfy and clean. Can’t fault it, would recommended to anyone looking for a nice room in Shinfield!

It was a lovely little room with everything you could possibly need for a short-term stay. Better yet, the host goes above and beyond by providing you with more than you'd need (I.e. A comfy arm chair, mini-fridge, a TV with Netflix, etc). It was also a really great distance from the centre of town with some beautiful views along the way. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at Ruth’s family home before an important exam, and it was the perfect choice. Ruth was incredibly kind and welcoming, which helped ease my nerves. The room was spotless, peaceful, and overlooked a beautiful garden—an ideal environment to relax and focus. The location is excellent: just a 5-minute walk to the high street, with plenty of shops and places to eat. The local bus network is also very convenient, with regular services that got me to Reading train station in about 15 minutes. Overall, I had a very comfortable and pleasant stay. I would highly recommend Ruth’s place to anyone looking for a quiet, well-located, and thoughtfully hosted accommodation.

Peter was a great host , great communication and met me upon arrival . Bedroom , bathroom and kitchen all spotlessly clean . Pub / restaurant within 10 minute walk and shops nearby if needed . Great place to stay where you have your own space for cooking etc . Will definitely be back . Thanks

Rik was a great host. He was very helpful on arrival and made me feel welcome. Very clean room and bathroom. Rik was also very flexible when changes at work meant I had to change my booking. Lovely room and lovely host. Would recommend and would certainly stay with Rik again
