Swallow Cottage, Auldgirth - north of Dumfries.

Swallow Cottage was lovingly converted by Steve and Sarah from McMurdoston's old granary in 2014 and provides a wonderfully peaceful place to stay while exploring Dumfries and Galloway. The cottage is only 20 minutes drive from a 24-hour supermarket, a cinema and numerous eateries, but once you get here you'll feel as if you are truly in the middle of nowhere. We live just across the yard if you need us and we'll do everything we can to make your stay comfortable, relaxing and quietly memorable.

Deluxe glamping pod in private garden in rural South West Scotland. No noisy campsite interference. Children welcome but need supervision in garden as we have a pond and stream. Woodend is a beautiful cottage set in a semi rural setting, with stunning aspects from all bedrooms and sitting room. Quiet and tranquil garden and patio area, perfect for enjoying a glass of bubbly and taking in the wonderful views and relaxing. The semi detached cottage is stylish and tastefully decorated. Part of the beauty of Woodend is even though you are surrounded by fields, it’s only a stroll into Dumfries town centre (20 mins) where you will find pubs, restaurants and shopping.

The apartment neighbours a 14th Century Abbey and a prime salmon fishing river. Kirkland Cottage is completely self-contained and is attached to our main house in an enclosed, secluded and large garden. Although only two miles from Dumfries Town Centre it is in a quiet, rural location. There is ample parking beside the cottage and a lockable room for storage of bicycles and other leisure equipment. The cottage provides a great base from which to enjoy the many cultural and outdoor activities available in the immediate locality.

Charming chalet in peaceful rural location.

Our chalet is in our large, well managed garden. While it is near our house and we are happy to chat, we always respect peoples privacy. This is a very peaceful place where you can sit outside and watch the flames of the fire pit at night or stay in and have a cosy evening. Our neighbours are all of the four legged variety so some countryside noises are to be expected but the cows love to come and greet you at the wall. Parking space in garden

Nice location with a great view over fields from the living room. Very clean and well equipped place. Rodney was welcoming and a great host, and told me all about the local wildlife, including a deer family, that can be seen from the living foom window. Can heartily recommend a stay here.

Chareece was a great host. We needed to book at really short notice due to work commitments for two of our guys and she was really accommodating and helpful. She replied almost right away every time. Would definitely recommend this place and hopefully visit again in the future.

Cozy, ideal location apartment

This place was exactly what we needed for an overnight stop on the way up to the Highlands. Easy to find and check in, clean and tidy, comfy bed. We were pleasantly surprised by the local area, the park right outside was lovely with a great vibe at the pizzeria nearby. The apartment was quiet despite being right by a public car park, the bedroom being at the back helped. Our toddler found a box of toys in a cupboard - the fire engine and truck kept him occupied for ages! Only downside is the decor could do with some sprucing up, but if you're not fussy about that then this is a good place for a stopover. The bread & eggs in the fridge were a nice touch too.

Audrey was a great host! Very welcoming, had good recommendations and was flexible with the use of the space. I would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area! It is fairly remote so will need car to access other places, Dumfries is 10 mins drive away. The house was super clean, had everything we needed and in such a beautiful surrounding. Thank you again!

Beautiful, peaceful cottage in a fantastic location. Photos do not so it justice, has everything you need so you don’t need leave again while you are there. Outside space with amazing views of the river Nith and the surrounding area. Fab enclosed area for our dog and she loved the woodland walks, swims in the river and peaceful fields to run and catch mice! Even though you are on the site of a museum it’s still very private and staff around if needed. The beds are very comfy and the showers are hot and powerful. The only minor thing is the wifi is not great so the TV channels are few and far between. Will definitely being staying again soon

Stunning Period Townhouse with Garden Near to Town

Our stay at Williams place was everything we hoped it would be and more. From the outside of the property, throughout and into the garden was wonderful. The beds were super comfy and we all slept so well, it's lovely decorated, well kept and cosy. The location was perfect for all we wanted to do... It's just a walk to the river which is a stunning walk round. 4 days went by so quickly and we really didn't want to leave. Would highly recommend the property and location for a fabulous getaway. Thank you for being a great host :)
