There is a covered deck, with another sink, Weber BBQ, tables and chairs, and gas flatplate. The cabin overlooks the river and has a shared bathroom with three toilet stalls a short walk away, one with a good shower. Lake access and boat dock is 2 minutes away.

Great spacious property with excellent outdoor area. A pizza oven to socialise around while the kids play on the trampoline. BBQ available. Close to DeBretts hot pools and 10 minute walk to the lake. Come and enjoy this spacious family getaway whilst seeing the attractions Taupō has to offer. Linen, towels & pillows are not provided, beds have a mattress protector. There are 2 resident cats on the property, please consider this before booking.

If you want a peaceful place to relax with the family with all the room to find your own personal space if necessary, then this is your place. My family loved staying here with views of the lake. Great little bar and restaurant was less than 5 min away and we could cook our own meals in a perfect kitchen. A real coffee machine and heaps of tea options meant that we didn’t need to leave until ready to start the day’s activities. It’s also close to a little private inlet (protected from the weather) on the lake.

We came for the Ironman World Championships and it was great to be close the Lake Taupo, but far enough away in a quiet relaxing space that wa beautifully located and had enough room for the 7 of us. We had a electrical issue that got corrected quickly and the communication with host was easy and responsive. Plenty of parking for the cars, a park just next door and walking and riding trails just down the street. Would recommend for a family vacation

The Mez is a great place to stay while exploring the Taupo area. I really enjoyed being away from town and looking out over the beautiful gardens. There are a few roads near-by so getting around is easy. The kitchen is really well-equipped and I appreciated being able to prepare meals. Bed and couch are very comfy, the desk was great for writing my travel journal and the shower has great water pressure. Jos and Richard were very helpful.

Amazing stay, did not want to leave. The apartment & surrounding views were stunning. Gorgeous shower with lovely toiletries. Kitchen facilities a little restrictive but that was not a problem at all. Close to amenities & restaurants & a lovely, easily accessible, lakeside walkway. Very easy access to lakeside ‘Beach area’. Would absolutely recommend Kjesten & Peters place for a holiday.

We had such a wonderful stay here in beautiful Kuratau. It felt like the ‘real New Zealand’ and not touristy at all. We walked along the lake and spoke to some locals. Our kids absolutely loved this property - the flying fox and little trampoline were a hit. We used the fire pit every day and the kids made s’mores. Nearby Turangi has great rafting and fishing adventures on the Tongariro River. Absolutely loved every minute!

Rebecca responds very quickly which made everything so much easier, from booking confirmation to checking out. The house had everything we needed for a few nights and was very clean.
