Neudorf Gingerbread House

Peter’s hospitality and kindness are both heartwarming and we felt welcome from the start. He has a very special home and garden/orchard and his passion for plants and the natural environment really shows. He shared several of his plums and apples with us, as well as homemade bread and fruit leather. The location is serene, yet close to several vineyards and a general store. What a special stay!

The Bungalow Cow Room

I don‘t even know how to start - we absolutely loved this stay and can only recommend it (we‘d definitely come again)! Rae and Paul welcomed us in the evening and were both super friendly and welcoming!! Rae immediately showed us around the house, which was super cozy, warm and so tidy/clean! We really loved all the details: chocolate bars in the room, bathroom utensils to use, bath robes, a Netflix account for the TV and so much more… Rae really made us feel like home by offering to use all the utensils in the shared spaces and giving us enough privacy! They were both super friendly and happy to chat a bit with us! And they have the cutest cat ever! We even got offered a variety of food for breakfast: toasts, yoghurt, fresh fruit, spreads, jams, hot chocolate/coffee, milk, … basically anything you could imagine for breakfast - it was so nice and just simply amazing! We felt like home! Our only mistake was that we only stayed for one night… 🥲 we loved this AirBnB stay!

Such a peaceful haven in a beautiful garden. So many thoughtful details here to make one feel comfortable. The outdoor shower was a real treat and falling asleep with the sound of the stream was a unique experience. Shanti is an excellent host who went over and above to make sure we had everything we needed.

Val's Retreat

We had a great 2 night stay with Valerie and Wayne. They welcomed us into their home and were very friendly and easy to talk to. The room was large, clean and comfortable with the bonus of a large lounge room which we didn’t use because we enjoyed sitting upstairs and chatting with Valerie and Wayne. They provided breakfast with cereals and homemade bread and jams and tea and coffee. We also tried fruit from the garden. We highly recommend staying here.
A wicker tray is arranged with a kettle and several ceramic mugs with wooden lids. The kettle is positioned next to the mugs, with a small container of tea or coffee visible among them. A mirror is reflected in the background, enhancing the overall display.

Pene's place is a hidden gem located in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to nearby shops and highway. The bedroom and living room is spacious and relaxing. The bathroom is spacious too with everything you need for the stay. Her cat Mocha is also very friendly and fluffy, definitely good for cat lovers.

Renovated woolshed near beach

The photos and description don't do this gorgeous home justice! Really nice home, very attractively decorated, very comfortable. There is plenty of room. The kitchen is well supplied with dishes, pots, pans. Full kitchen with full-size fridge. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Location abouts Abel Tasman and a 5 minute walk from beach and kayaking. Very nice situation.
An expansive deck features wooden seating arrangements and a circular table, with two glasses and a bottle positioned on it. The background showcases a stunning view of the sea and distant mountains under a clear blue sky.

Parautane Lodge - Koru Suite

LouiseRating, 5 stars114 months ago
What a wonderful place to stay! The description and photos were very accurate and the view was just breathtaking, worth the long, steep drive up from the main road. Alan and his family were away while we were there so we didn't get to meet them, but they had lovely help who made our stay wonderful at Parautune Lodge. Her advice for what to do locally was just right for us. You really need to have a car or love steep climbs to stay here! Breakfast was very substantial (cereals, fruit, homemade muffins, toast and choice of cooked breakfast), leaving us well set up for the day's activities.
A spacious deck overlooks the sea, featuring wooden seating arranged around a round table. Two glasses of wine are placed on the table, inviting relaxation. The modern building's large glass doors reflect the outdoor scenery, enhancing the tranquil ambiance of the area.

This is an amazing place. You have amazing views of the ocean, and it's very well furnished. I would recommend going into the spa at night! Also, Candace and Alan couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. If you're in Nelson, this is the place to stay hands down!
