Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Tanzania

My family had a wonderful 4 nights staying at Margo’s property - very private, very large functional bedrooms with fans, air conditioning and private ensuites, plus a separate fully self contained 3rd bedroom. A beautiful pool, 24 hour security onsite, daily house cleaning by Ester. And the dogs were super friendly and great company. If you like football, pack your boots and enjoy a game with the locals on the pitch next door. If you like tapas or just really good food - recommend having dinner at “ To Be” which is approx 1km from Margo’s. Couldn’t find fault with the accommodation or the lovely Margo as a wonderful host, who was available, responsive but also gave us total privacy.

The house was beautiful and modern (with fresh fruit on arrival), Rainer is readily available for any queries, Paolo was an incredible help and 15 minutes from the beach. However, this is in a rural part of Zanzibar but all in all our stay was fantastic in Rainer's home.

My stay was simply great! The place was spotlessly clean and just as beautiful as in the photos – you immediately felt comfortable. I would particularly like to highlight Emmanuel and Kamada, the hostess and our favorite Massai. They were incredibly friendly, reliable and always available when I had any questions. Her warm nature made the stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend their place to everyone and would come back anytime!

Judith was very responsive, helpful and accommodating. Her assistant, Neema, was gracious and available for any request we had. The house is beautiful and the grounds are even more incredible with the covered porch and pool area, large yard with the sounds of a nearby river. The kitchen is well stocked. The master bedroom has a nice deck. It is a little ways out of Arusha but is gated and very quiet and private. The photos are great but don't do justice for how nice this place really is when you are walking around the grounds.

The place is wonderful and clean, the service is excellent, and the staff is very cooperative and friendly. I would like to thank Ramadan for his excellent handling and his care for the visitors. I also thank the security, Ezra. Of course, I will visit again, and I will recommend it to my friends to go there.

My sons and I had a wonderful stay! The home was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed to cook while we were there. Deborah was not in town, but her wonderful grandmother -who is also the cohost -was responsive and kind. The home was in a quiet neighborhood. We used bajajis for our mode of transportation while were there and were able to reach major shops within 10-20 minutes. One thing to note is that the home is part of a shared compound. It didn’t impact my stay too much, but for someone who is looking for a completely private stay this should be noted. Overall, we had a great experience and I’d definitely stay again! Wonderful experience in a beautifully well kept compound.

Gongali House is a charming retreat in Karatu, near the renowned Ngorongoro Crater. Our stay was memorable, thanks to Linda's warm hospitality and the serene ambiance. Linda and her staff ensured a relaxing stay, greeting us warmly and making everything comfortable. The private cottage, surrounded by lush greenery, with bird life aplenty, provided a peaceful atmosphere. Its beautiful architecture and convenient yet tranquil location added to the charm. While the house was well-equipped, the WiFi was unreliable, though Linda made efforts to address the issue. The property’s tranquility and beauty more than made up for it. Access to an extra fridge was also helpful for self-catering. A highlight was the delicious home-cooked meal by Christina, showcasing local flavors that enhanced our experience. Gongali House is an excellent choice for a peaceful retreat near Ngorongoro Crater. A tip: Follow Airbnb directions closely, as Google Maps on its own led us astray.

I do appreciate the Host(Miss Jing), she is good in communication and she is reliable. The place is so clean and Beautiful but also it's near Mlimani City Mall and Samaki Samaki that I enjoyed the local live Band playing food music. Big up Miss Jing, she is Great Host.

I had a wonderful stay! The place was exactly as described clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The rooms were spotless, and the entire house had a welcoming, well-kept feel. Everything was well-organized, and it made for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. One of the best things about this place is its location. It’s right at the center of everything, so it’s super easy to access shops, restaurants, and other amenities (just a short cab ride away). Lillian was a great host, friendly, responsive, and made sure everything went smoothly. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant and hassle-free experience. I’definately would love to come back again!

Noor’s house was the best Airbnb we stayed at during our Zanzibar trip. The interior is modern, well-kept, and cosy — perfect for two, with a spare room we used for drying laundry. I loved relaxing in the living room, looking out into the peaceful garden. Though the host wasn’t around, she was very responsive and had everything planned perfectly, from check-in to our transfer. The house is well-located, just a 10-minute walk to the beach and close to great restaurants and cafes. the host was also very responsible — she let us know in advance that the compound’s lagoon would be closed and even gave us the option to cancel. While it was a pity we couldn’t enjoy the lagoon, the thoughtful communication was much appreciated. I’ll definitely recommend this gem to friends and anyone looking for a cosy, quiet, peaceful, and calm retreat in Paje.

We enjoyed our stay. his home is lovely. it's very clean and Morgan modern, with all of the amenities you need. we were convenient to town, and being next to the water with a lovely breeze when you open the windows. we'll be back

This was our second stay with Stephanie after returning from Mikumi, and it was just as lovely as the first. She was very considerate and even offered us an early check-in if needed. We really enjoyed relaxing in the cosy living room, watching Netflix, and enjoying the breeze. Shops are within walking distance if you like to explore, but I especially appreciated having a peaceful space to rest, a fully equipped kitchen for home-cooked meals, and convenient laundry facilities before heading off to work in another region. Stephanie even kindly offered to send us anything we might need from Dar while we were away for work. There were also books available — I just wish I had time to finish the one I started! She was always responsive and full of great recommendations.

Prashila’s place was beautiful. Amazing furniture, nicely designed, great amenities, washing machine. She was a fantastic host, super responsive, very helpful, flexible, and offered us a late check out. Would highly recommend. The location is convenient for downtown, it is a 4 flight walk up, but Prashila has people to help with the luggage. As it is downtown, it is noisy but this is expected for booking a place in town. Overall, very comfortable stay and look forward to staying again in the future. Thank you

Stunning property, very modern and chic. Check in was a breeze as there were staff on property 24/7 ready to accommodate your needs. The day housekeeper- Esther was really lovely and welcoming. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. I would highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay. Check in and out were seamless, and the area was peaceful. It was the perfect distance from Stonetown, and it had all the amenities we needed. We had a few questions regarding the apartment and appliances. The team was very responsive and resolved the inquiries we had in a timely fashion. Thank you for everything!

Abdullah is a great and very responsive host who was always available when I had a question. The apartment is in a good location in stone town but not too close to all the busy areas. It is just a bedroom and bathroom, but if you are in Zanzibar to go out all day and experience the island, and eat at delicious local restaurants you don’t need a kitchen or anything more really. Good water heater and AC also. The only thing I would say it could benefit from is maybe a small table of some kind. Overall it was exactly what I was looking for!
