Wonderful place to stay in Unawatuna. Close to everything, easy to get bus/Tuktuk but such a peaceful environment gorgeous house and gardens. Lovely dogs who were so quiet at night. Ajith was really helpful and accommodating to extra requests. Lovely breakfast each morning.

We arrived at three o'clock in the morning and met us like family. The hosts are very attentive and helpful. If you want to stay a little in the rainforest, watch parrots, squirrels, insects, look at plants, then this place is a great place. The veranda is located, so that you can enjoy the view of the vegetation and create a sense of privacy. Breakfast deserves special attention, time can be negotiated in advance, as it was convenient for us. There was always delicious Ceylon tea, fruit shakes, and the dishes were delicious with a local feel, new and varied every day. Now about the house and its hostess. An interesting design (which is why we chose it) for three friends was comfortable and cozy in it for three friends in it. The reality was better than the picture in the app. The host responded to our requests, all of our needs were met. Intika surrounded us with care and attention. We cooked dinners ourselves, either on the grill in the yard or in the kitchen at home. The evenings were spent on the veranda. They clean the house, if we wish, also change towels. There is a washing machine, the Hostess will be happy to show you how to use the appliances. And will dry things. What made us very happy is the beach. Wide coastline, great water temperature and minimum people. Unlike the other end of the beach. 12 minutes walk, we really liked these walks, there is an opportunity to see the real life of the locals. The fruit market is 10 minutes away. The fish market is 15 minutes away. We were very satisfied with both the location and the price and of course the quality. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

We had a lovely stay in Darshaka’s property. His Mum, Veneetha cooked us varied, delicious breakfasts each day. The whole family were very friendly & helpful. We enjoyed a chilled break through this part of our journey in Sri Lanka. Thank you 😊

Madu’s place was fantastic—peaceful, quiet, and perfect for a relaxing stay. The house is fully private, with its own kitchen and bathroom, offering great comfort and independence. The host, Madu, is incredibly communicative and helpful. Whether you have questions or need assistance, he’s always reachable, either in person or via phone. One thing to keep in mind: if you want to be close to the city center, it’s about a 20–30 minute walk, as the house is situated near the second river up north. However, this also means you get to enjoy a quiet, secluded space with almost no neighbours. (bonus: you get to see some fireflies at night) If you have a scooter, getting around won’t be an issue at all!

Chaminda and his family are truly beautiful. I came as a guest and left as family. They are kind, friendly, attentive and true in their genuine hospitality. The room they have is great and the surroundings are fabulous. 5 mins to beautiful beaches and 20 mins inland to an amazingly peaceful temple set within the jungle. I was lucky to have a group of semi local lads staying near me who work locally on a site and whom were so friendly and welcoming. If you want to experience Sri Lanka and the heart of the people who make this country so beautiful and then stay here, for it is a special place owned by a magical family 🙏

We had another wonderful stay in the villa this year. This time I didn't book directly by the sea, but a little further back. The room was very big and the two beds were very comfortable. The terrace was a dream, where I could enjoy my coffee every morning at 7 a.m. with a great view of the sea. Breakfast was as delicious as always and really plentiful (great Sri Lankan breakfast on request) ❤️ The whole team is as helpful and friendly as always. You come as a guest and leave as a friend. We had a very nice stay here. The room was clean, the terrace a great plus. The drinking water, which is provided, was also great. Manoj and his family served us a great breakfast every morning directly on our terrace. In 2 minutes you will be on the beautiful quiet beach where you can swim and surf. Manoj was accessible at all times and responded quickly and helped. Everything is wonderful, you don't go wrong here:)

Amazing! This Family is so hospitable! We were staying here for 2 weeks and were fully satisfied! + Breakfasts are delicious! And you can get real pleasure if you order dinner - they can cook whatever you want! + All that you need as a tourist you can get right here - the hosts helped us with transfers, bikes, laundry, etc. + Nice location - away from center and noise. Of the cons: - Mattress is a bit old but has good firmness - The hosts did not respond to Airbnb until we have requested a transfer. We even almost cancel our reservation, but after everything was great

My sister and I spent a week at Isuru's and it was a real treat! The accommodation is very nice and quiet and we were lucky to have small dogs in the accommodation to which we became very attached Breakfasts were very good and dinners too. small point: we were very hot in the accommodation despite the fans, other than that, nothing to say!! thanks again for a wonderful time

Lovely welcom drink and really nice family was the first impression. Room and bed were good and bathroom clean.

My family and I had a memorable five nights stay at the Silva Surf Home. Mr and Mrs Silva made us feel right at home. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Silva’s warmth adds to the whole experience. The garden is beautiful with lots of birds. They also accepted our request for late breakfast (the pancakes were excellent), which is super nice! Their house is close to the market and restaurants, making it very accessible. We made lots of friends while we stayed here. They also have a good laundry service. The clothes were looked and smelt fresh after the wash. I would recommend it to everyone who is looking for a comfortable stay and local experience!

Chani and Lali were lovely hosts! Very accommodating with check in, greeted us on arrival and were very friendly. The room was as pictured & described - very comfy bed, hot water! Shared kitchen facilities were very good, plenty of space in the fridge to keep what you wanted chilled. Location wise, the place is excellent - a very short walk to restaurants and the beach - but set back far enough to be peaceful. The hosts held our bags for us on check out day as we had an early start for a whale watching boat trip booked. Chani & Lali have built a lovely little sanctuary which felt really peaceful to stay at. Thank you, we enjoyed our stay :)

A beautiful family room tucked away from the kaos of the Main Street. The room was beautiful, spotless and comfortable. The balcony was lovely in the mornings and the beach towels provided were a welcome touch. Everything is within walking distance including the beach, cafes and restaurants. We had a wonderful stay in this gorgeous place. Highly recommend!

I stayed here at Forrest Villa for a whole month. If you are looking for peace and quiet and like to be in nature, this is the place to be. A colonial house full of art objects and an extremely interesting library. The beach and the lake can be reached within 15 minutes by tuk tuk. The tuk tuk can be called at any time and is here within 20 minutes. The swimming pool invites you to linger. Monkeys, peacocks, butterflies, dragonflies, foxes and many more animals can be observed. Not to forget Freddie the dog and several loving cats. Guy is always there, answered and helps in any situation. The staff are extremely nice and attentive. An excellent breakfast is served with homemade bread from Guy and the fresh eggs from the chickens here in the grounds. All in all a wonderful, unforgettable place to stay.

Great place. Everything is new and nice. Great shower, bathroom and balcony. The map locater took me to the wrong street so be cautious of that. Breakfast is not included (not that it is advertised) but there are many nearby options. Shady Lane has some of the best breakfast I have ever had.

Don’t even hesitate when choosing this place and this family! First of all, I have to say that love and kindness flow through their home.
