Vacation rentals with a kayak in Swellendam Local Municipality

Unfortunately we only spend one night in this superb Manor House. Way too short! This is a fantastic location for a larger group of nature lovers. Beautiful house, nicely decorated and with a stunning view. Cows, horses and baboons in front of your garden, view on the river and the hills, what can you wish for more?!?

Special area, lovely local walks in the local area were a highlight. The house had all we needed to relax and enjoy a break in nature.

Lovely home on the Breede, great position and wonderful deck and braai area. Everything you need and the use of the SUPs and canoe is a bonus!

Lauren’s place is a real gem. We loved the early mornings with all the birds and the incredible views. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds are super comfortable. It’s ideal for a small group. If you drive a small vehicle, note you will need to drive very slowly as the road is really for 4x4 vehicles, but as Lauren predicted, it’s totally worth it!

Wow, what a place - extremely peaceful, extremely beautiful, perfect for seven of us. They even provided clean drinking water for all of us since the water from the taps wasn’t drinkable. The canoes were also a great bonus. Like others said before, the prepared hot tub was pretty hot when we got in but it was still fun, we just topped it up with some cold water from the hose if it got too hot. All in all, a really wonderful stay!

As a group of 8 plus one dog, the house was the perfect peaceful getaway we all needed! There are so many cool and unique corners of the house to explore and hideaway when a good book is calling. Alternatively, there are so many fun games and activities to play when the group is ready to come together! On a rainy weekend, all the fireplaces and braai lend towards cozy evenings, while the pool and river await when the sun peaks out! Thank you for making this an unforgettable weekend for us all! The House of Eels is nestled in the beautiful Vermaaklikheid valley which is a tucked away treasure. The house itself is delightfully unusual with interesting spaces, a variety of lovely bedrooms and lots of creative touches. We loved it. The location is just minute or two stroll from the river itself in which we had some wonderful swims. The beds and linen are great and the house is well equipped. We had a fantastic weekend and would love to go back.

Peaceful and isolated; Perfect for a breakaway from the city life. The 4km gravel trail leading up the location is not the most ideal for all vehicles, especially when raining. All in all, would definitely visit again!

We would definitely stay here again! The location among the vineyard was really quiet and nice. The cottages are situated close to each other but still private. Each bedroom had an en suite bathroom with a rain shower and lots of space. The furniture and beds were comfy and cozy. The braai areas were great and the wood fired hot tub was such a treat. Shout out to Lourens for the wine, he’s clearly a talented winemaker with an excellent sense of the craft and has a bright future as a representative of South Africa’s wine scene on the international stage. Lizelle was a great host and was tolerant of all my questions. The entire territory was quaint and there were two hiking trails and even a canoe and SUP by the river. Book here. You won’t regret it.

The most perfect location with serene views and peaceful surroundings. Everything you need is right there, a small river flowing past the house to swim in, beautiful and easy walks through the vineyard and the best of all a hot tub anytime you want it! The cottage is cute, clean and many amenities available to use. Will definitely be back at this location.

Had such a lovely stay. The accommodation was amazing, loved the interior. The location was very easy to find thanks to the directions provided and it was beautifully situated.

Very friendly homestay with amazing views. Peaceful and quiet with a lovely big yard. It is surrounded by a picturesque countryside with beautiful views across the valley.Location was beautiful and there was lots to do nearby. We were able to contact Amelia and Jacques easily and they were very helpful; from restaurant & activity recommendations to use of the cottage amenities. We had plenty of room for two adults; two kids & two infants. Just what we need to get away from the hustle & bustle of city life.A very beautiful & spacious cabin; we will certainly be going back as there is so much more activities and wine farms we left without visiting.

The White House was a perfect weekend getaway from the city and exactly the technology and cell phone detox needed! Totally accessible by normal car as clearly stated by the host - the property is beautiful to walk around and well marked. The house itself had everything needed to cook, clean, braai, relax and everything in between. The hot tub was amazing to sit and relax in and watch the stars go by at night! Reminder to bring bug spray though! Was amazing to wake up in the morning with the blinds up and see the landscape. Will definitely be back!
