the hosts were super friendly and sweet, gave us eggs from their cute chickens :) the place was beautiful and the surrounding area so peaceful and stunning! There is public transport just a few minutes walk from there that easily takes you into Roskilde so this is the perfect location if you're going to spend time there, or even in Copenhagen, as it is so calm and beautiful without the hustle and bustle of the city, but still super close by bus There are some things that could be done to make this a perfect stay, such as a better mattress at least for the double bed. We were really happy there overall and would definitely stay again.

We stayed at Niels and Liz’s shepherd’s hut for our honeymoon and had the most wonderful time. They were incredibly welcoming, even with our late arrival due to a delayed flight, and shared great local tips throughout our stay. The hut was cosy and homely, with beautiful countryside views from the garden. The outdoor shower was warm and a fun, adventurous touch! It was a peaceful base for exploring: Copenhagen was easy to reach via nearby Lejre Station (with free parking), and we loved visiting North Zealand’s castles and Møn’s cliffs. The local area was full of charm, with thatched roofs, Viking history, farmland, and quiet countryside, yet close to towns with a pizzeria, harbour, and brewery. A perfect, romantic getaway - we’d love to return!

We had a very nice week in Peter & Maria's house. We were pleasantly surprised with the well-equipped kitchen so we could cook nicely. Outside there are also enough seating areas to soak up the sun. The surroundings are quiet and supermarkets are a short distance away. Only point of attention for us was that we missed a good mattress on the double bed. Because we were only together, we put the mattresses of the bunk bed on the double bed. We definitely recommend the house and communication with Peter & Maria is very fast and good!

A real home from home, cosy and comfortable. Everything was logical and well thought out and very tasteful. We love cooking and it was well stocked with practical items and great appliances so it was easy to make lovely dinners. It’s a couple of minutes walk to the bus, and a nice walk to the Viking shop museum or into town if you fancy stretching your legs. There is a food shop nearby for essentials, then other food shops and delicatessens in Roskilde. A lovely mix of countryside and lakes as well as family activities, day trips and easy access to Copenhagen. We were amazed at how many kids play parks there were close by! I think we counted 7 all with different things like zip lines and climbing frames - my 7 and 10yr old were very happy. We loved our stay and would 100% book again.
