The place is magical, in the morning I enjoyed the sound of the lake and the birds; the place is very private, there are two villas together and the view is spectacular. Try not to bring a lot of luggage, the stairs to get there are somewhat steep, my partner and I are young and we went up without a problem! It has a great location and I would always recommend it.

The place is very nice, clean, tidy, the host is very diligent and always attentive from your arrival to your departure. We even had a problem with the internet connection and he quickly helped us solve it. It has a coffee maker and kitchen utensils, which was extremely useful for us in case you don't want to go out of your normal diet or save money to travel the place instead of restaurants. He also included a bag of coffee that we appreciate as coffee lovers. The place also has a discount on parking that is close to the town with fair prices, and the use of the kayak makes it more exclusive

I have never stayed on this side of the lake, but I have always wanted to. This place is a jewel of a property. I had an incredible visit. Service and communication is top-notch and it is quiet. I have been coming to Guatemala for 15 years and feel that I am an authority on these matters. Their dogs are very well behaved and quiet. the neighbors have no dogs or roosters and no early morning boats to wake you up. Being way off the road there are no motos, chicken buses or Tuk Tuks either. In the day, there can be some jet skiing or other private boats and helicopters, but they pass by fast enough. I believe their plan is to eventually have a restaurant, but it is worth noting that you will need to carry your food in on a 15 minute walk so come prepared for that. Very limited dining options in town. Water crystal clear and great for swimming. I’d give 6 stars out of 5 if that was an option. Will be returning. Easily the quietest and most peaceful place on the lake I have stayed.

Excellent location, comfortable room, responsive and proactive host

As everyone else said the photo’s don’t do the place justice and the view is gorgeous. It’s a little out of the way but it is peaceful and quiet to recharge your batteries and relax. Easy to catch a tuk tuk to local towns to stock up on food and there are lanchas (ferries) in local towns to go look at other villages around the lake. Beds were comfortable and the house had kayaks and paddle boards and a spa.

Our stay was so pleasant and quiet. The house matched the specifications provided, everything was tidy and very clean, the directions for arrival were clear and the location was accurate. I liked the privacy, as well as the style of the house. A few meters away, you have access to the lake. Cerro de Oro is a very quiet place; however, there are not many restaurants, so it is advisable to bring food. Fortunately, the house has the necessary utensils for the kitchen and dining room. In the bedroom area, the beds are super comfortable, you sleep comfortably! You feel right at home! José was very attentive and kind, he was always available during our stay. In addition, he gave us several recommendations to get to know the area, and we decided to visit Santiago La Laguna. Anecdote: On our last night, we found two small scorpions in the bedroom. Due to the beautiful nature that surrounds the house, I was not surprised, but it is important to take precautions.

Our stay at this beautiful lakeside house was fantastic! The location is unbeatable – absolute tranquility, a breathtaking view and a perfect environment to relax. The house itself is lovingly decorated and offers everything you need for a relaxing stay. Particularly noteworthy is the host: incredibly friendly, helpful and always making sure that we feel comfortable. From the first communication to departure, everything was perfectly organized. If you are looking for an idyllic break, this is the place to be.

Carolina’s beautiful house by the water, with its stunning yet peaceful view, was perfect for our family reunion. We had a great time there and will definitely go back again! And Carolina is a super host, very easy to communicate with, and super kind.

Amazing place, the listing photos are beautiful but in person it exceeded expectations. The house is very spacious, with many environments so that, although there are many people, everyone can have their space. It has everything you need. The beautiful garden as well as the exit to the lake. Very close to Santiago that also the main street very nice. Don Eduardo is very friendly. He supported us a lot. We will surely return, thank you very much for everything.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in our tiny home! It was so peaceful to come back and enjoy peace and quiet on the deck after wandering around the town of San Juan. We were pleasantly surprised at how walkable the location was, despite only being mostly accessible by boat. There was a lovely little path that led you straight to some great restaurants on the water and was a short distance from the town of San Juan. I would definitely recommend packing light if you unable to be dropped off by boat, however, we lucked out and were able to access by boat. It is a sweet little gem with a relaxing view of the town and the lake. We enjoyed sitting on the porch every night with some wine and just listening to the sounds of nature and some distant sounds of celebration from San Juan. I would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful place within walking distance of San Juan or short tuktuk ride to San Pedro.

Getting to this place is definitely an adventure as many others have mentioned. The walking path requires you to be comfortable with a rocky little hike. However, you are rewarded with the most gorgeous views, infinite privacy, and restorative solitude. The place had everything I needed to enjoy being this close to the lake. It was a wonderful experience staying here and I enjoyed how off the baten path it was.

Great place! A little bit away from the town-so getting a tuk tuk can be a little challenging but not too hard. Place was clean and unique! Luis was great at communicating!!

A nice place a few meters from the beach, they welcomed us very kindly, the place is very safe too, we will be back soon
