The nearest lake is Erken, where there are several different swimming areas and scenic areas. At the cottage, there is a wood-fired sauna. There is good bus communication to, for example, Stockholm or Grisslehamn for day trips. Norrtälje city is also a nice excursion destination.

The cottage is beautifully situated close to the sea. Very basic standard. No running water nor electricity. Water is brought from Sävö farm where you can also charge your mobile. There is kitchenware such as cutlery, cups and plates and gas cooker. Bring your own sheets - there are mattresses, blankets and pillows. Sleeping bags are not allowed. This listed 18th-century wing building is part of a historic shipowner’s estate and was once home to the renowned artist Siri Derkert. Carefully renovated in consultation with heritage authorities, the house preserves many original features while offering modern comfort. The property spans approx. 150 sqm with a large country kitchen, living room, three bedrooms, separate bathroom and toilet, and four fireplaces.
