Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Stephens County

The cottage was very clean and cozy. There were a lot of antique pieces. The hosts were very nice. The property is beautiful. It was very peaceful. As far as the town, there is not much to do. A lot of restaurants were closed Sunday, Monday, and Tuesdays. They do have a movie theater and a bowling alley. Helen is not far away. There are two sweet labs that roam the property. Certainly helped us with our doggie withdrawals. Eating and drinking is only allowed in the kitchen and the porches. The beds were firm but super comfortable. The washer and dryer are not for guests. The kitchen was well stocked with necessities and there was an assortment of Kcups to enjoy and we did. They also have some games to enjoy as well. The property has fairy lights going down the right side. The lawns were well landscaped. If you are looking for a peaceful, clean, cottage with beautiful views, and adorable labs, with nice hosts. You will not be disappointed

Absolutely beautiful and unique property. Very responsive hosts. Would love to stay again! Tips for future travelers: I had no difficulty getting to the house in my 2WD sedan. I recommend packing on the lighter side, as you park a little ways away from the house (although they do provide a cart to make bringing in your luggage easier!). I would only stay at this Airbnb if you feel comfortable frequently navigating stairs, and if you are comfortable carrying your luggage across ~50 yards of uneven asphalt. In response to some past negative reviews: I felt as if the house was clean, with the exception of some cobwebs in the rafters. I did not think the house had any more bugs than any other home in the middle of the woods. I wonder if the person who complained of excessive spiders was seeing “Joro” spiders, which are seasonal, as I did not see any. They stay in their webs and are pretty much harmless to humans.

This might be our favorite Airbnb to date.. Grandma's house was perfect for our family - it was so comfortable and we felt "at home" during our stay. Danny was so friendly when we met him by the garden and our kids loved spotting all the rabbits and pileated woodpecker in the surrounding woods. Highly recommended for peace, quiet, comfort and the beautiful story of the home. Thanks so much for hosting us!

Gail’s cabin far exceeded our expectations! It was very clean, tidy and had everything we needed and more. It is in a great location on the river and very peaceful. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the deck with views of the river. The sunroom also provided a great place to eat while enjoying the views of the river from the inside! The wildlife experience was one of the best. There was a beautiful hawk perched right outside the kitchen window while we cooked breakfast. We also learned a lot about Muscovy ducks when we asked Gail about them and were excited to see the recently hatched ducklings. There were folding chairs available for us to take down to the dock and it was a great place to relax and fish! This was such a great experience that we are already making plans to return next month! We highly recommend Gail’s cabin for a great getaway!

We spent our wedding weekend in this beautiful airbnb. Not only was it the perfect space with an amazing view, but Melinda went above and beyond for us! We were greeted with goodies to congratulate us on our upcoming nuptials, she checked in on us after a storm passed through, and was so responsive to each message. The kids loved the games and s’more’s she provided and my husband and I enjoyed relaxing in the hammock swings. We cannot wait to visit again when the weather warms up to fully enjoy the lake! We could not recommend this place or this host more!

Gorgeous lake and felt right at home here. Very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. I’m sure we will be back during the warmer season.

We absolutely loved staying at the lake house. It had absolutely everything we needed and wanted. The game room was a favorite. The kids appreciated the toys and loved the bunk beds. I appreciated all the little things like coffee and fully equipped kitchen. We cooked dinner every night and made good use of the blackstone and patio furniture. Perfect fire pit for roasting marshmallows and star gazing. Every morning we took the kayaks out and enjoyed the calm water and nature sounds. We appreciated the life jackets provided as well. If you’re looking for a peaceful adventure this place is it. You really don’t have to leave, this house has everything to make your stay great. We did venture to Helen and other places to hike and see waterfalls. The only thing I can think of is maybe adding a gate to the deck at both ends to prevent littles from escaping to the water. We just kept the doors locked to ensure safety. 10/10 recommend and would love to come back.

Stayed here for a friend's wedding nearby and it was the perfect spot to enjoy the landscape & nature! I woke up to some cows sleeping/hanging by a tree not too far away and that was so cool. The space was rustic but super clean & very comfortable! Very cool experience. I was also arriving very late, in the middle of the night & the host made sure to leave lights on for me. I felt very welcomed & safe.
