Our first hut (Ben's hut) was so successful, we've built another one !! Set on a working sheep farm, Jessie’s Hut has a double bed with the option of a single bunk above, giving a 2+1 format. There's a shower room and a small kitchen area with a fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. Wool-based insulation and central heating keep the hut cosy warm all year. Things to see include:- Beamish Museum (a must see!!), The Roman Wall, Durham, Kilhope Lead mining Museum and The Metro Centre.

We got a lot of walking and cycle routes right next tonthe cottage. Newcastle City and Durham City is about 15 minutes from the property. This little oasis of green is in a super handy location on the edge of the greenbelt, yet near the Team Valley, Metrocentre and Newcastle. There's a bus stop directly outside, with buses into central Newcastle every 30min in the day. Watergate Forest Park is right next door, with a fantastic cafe, lake, swans & lots of other wildlife. We're only a couple of miles from the C2C cycle route, with easy access to lots of other cycle routes & walks.

Excellent place to stay I would highly recommend it. Lovely room clean and quiet. Bathroom immaculate. Use of kitchen if you needed it. Location excellent. Christine was a great host very friendly and would help you if you needed anything

Everything was perfect, so clean, well stocked and very comfortable. Towels were super soft and toiletries in big dispensers rather than wasteful little sachets were appreciated. David was very responsive and gave timely updates and recommendations when asked. Was a great location for a trip to Beamish and ideal as a stop off point for a trip from Kent to Scotland. Would totally recommend this home from home

Moira’s place was wonderful and we’ve already recommended to friends & family. The views are lovely, it was very clean and Moira is very friendly and sweet. The location was great - we got to explore castles and Roman forts. Food options were great - Soho Tavern Gateshead & Giuseppe's Italian Bistro were both fantastic.

We really enjoyed our stay at Methodist Cottage. The cottage matched the description accurately and Heather was very friendly and easy to deal with. The cottage was cosy, comfortable and had everything we needed for our few days in the area to visit Beamish Museum with our grandchildren. The museum is only 10 minutes away by car and there are many attractions in the vicinity. We have no hesitation in recommending Methodist Cottage.

My parents had a truly wonderful and comfortable stay at Irena’s place. From the moment we booked, communication was smooth, clear, and welcoming. Irena was incredibly thoughtful and accommodating, ensuring everything was ready for an early check-in and going out of her way to make them feel at home. The room was spotless, beautifully maintained, and exactly as described, with every little detail thoughtfully arranged. My parents especially appreciated the peace, privacy, and convenience of having their own bathroom and kitchenette. Irena’s warmth and hospitality made all the difference – it felt more like a home than just accommodation. We’re genuinely grateful and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Highly recommended!
