Hostel vacation rentals in Southern Africa

Great place if you are looking for cool and vibrant hostel-ish accommodation for surfing holiday. They offer surf rental and classes right at the building. Yoga classes and coffee and restaurant are also in the same building. And location is superb - right on the beach with top views. Disadvantages are noise at night (sometimes there are parties in the bar in the same building as the hostel) and not very clean kitchen.

Amazing stay, can't speak highly enough of David. Helped me out where ever he could and provided more then he needed to. Definitely recommend

I strongly recomend this place for travellers, clean room, perfect location, friendly personnel, place for parking, good breakfast, I realy miss this nice Hostel.

This was the second time I stayed at Curiocity (first time booked through airbnb). It's a great hostel with a community feeling. The dorm room is comfortable although it's not likely that you'll spend much time in the room. There are plenty of other travelers to socialize with in the bar, the courtyard, or the balcony, and even if you're traveling alone it's easy to meet people to go on excursions with. All the staff are really helpful and you can get laundry done for 40ZAR, which for a long-term traveler is a godsend. The area is a very safe part of Joburg with private security and lots of shops and restaurants in the street, a little quiet during the week but very lively on the weekend and you're able to walk around at night. It's also very easy to get an Uber as there are usually a few in the neighborhood. The wifi works well in all public areas although sometimes it doesn't quite reach all of the rooms. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks guys!

Perfect place to relax and unwind. It’s right on the beach with a pathway to get between the lodge and the beach. The drinks at the bar are very reasonably priced. Nice neat and cosy room. I highly recommend it, definitely will be back!

Ruben was a great host. He helped with many things. The location is ok, it’s close to the airport. On some maps it is incorrect and it is on the same side of the road as the hospital of prenda just a little farther from the airport. Overall considering how expensive Luanda is to stay, it was a great value. I recommend this listing to stay in Luanda

We had an amazing stay at the Salty Jackal! Great house and atmosphere, we immediately felt at home. The perfect spot to be in Swakop, with everything within walking distance to explore the town. Next time we will join the surfing groups when we have more time, but will definitely be back 🤙

Lovely place to stay - strongly recommended. I stayed at the hostel for one week to explore Cape Town. Staff and guests were all very welcoming and helpful.

Very convenient location. Super friendly hosts. It is a hostel/backpackers kind of set up, so it’s very communal. However I had a great private room with my own bathroom.

I really enjoyed my stay here. It’s a backpackers as a backpackers should be...functional, clean and affordable. The staff are the best thing about Urban! Centrally situated in the city, it is the perfect location for exploring Joburg.

Great hostel/hotel. Clean. Located in a great location for tourists. Looks like the pictures. Very clean. Friendly service. I would recommend giving it a try, especially if you have never been in a hostel.

Really well-equipped and cosy hostel. Everything is super clean and the reception guy Jason is super nice and helpful. Loved the fire place and the roof top bar!

Had a short but relaxing stay. Will definitely be back.
