Vacation rentals with beach access in South Somerset District

This beach flat is just in the perfect location for exploring the beach, Rick steins and pig on the beach in studland (5 mins ferry ride). The number 50 bus takes you to all of these . Michelle was very friendly and met us on arrival and showed us around the flat . We would return x

This apartment with wonderful breathtaking panoramic views, was delightful. The kitchen really well set up for simple home cooking. Would have preferred a larger main bed but having two others was very handy. Mattresses a little challenging. Single beds good for kids. Really great response from host to help in any way & look into new mattresses. Fab washer/dryer! Short walk to well basic stock shop. Steep but short walk back up the hill. Gorgeous cafe below Captains Cabin, overlooking the water at Anchor Head. Captains Cabin also a great place for a sunset drink or dinner. They make the best crispy bacon sandwiches for lunch too! Great access to Worlebury Woods & the Encampment for some amazing views & solid walk up the hills. I grew up in these Woods so i loved revisiting them & the whole of Weston. PS The water is very hard so bring clarifying shampoo & conditioner. I found a great one on line at Superdrug. Shop down the hill will take deliveries.

What a truly wonderful stay, and the photos REALLY do not do this beautiful place justice!! We had the most lovely welcome from Chris and Sally when we arrived, were given lots of tasty treats to keep us going until we were able to shop the next day, and loved every second of our stay with them. They really did think of everything we could possibly need, and nothing was too much trouble for them. The location is excellent as we were able to park right outside the property. There is also a bus stop directly outside so we jumped on the bus to Exeter, which only took half an hour. The drive to Starcross is only about 10 minutes and we parked up and got the lovely foot-passenger ferry over to Exmouth (definitely worth the trip and very cheap.) We will DEFINITELY be returning and are already missing the sound of the ocean.

I told my four-year-old we had been invited by 2 queens to stay in their castle—and what queens they were! Such a friendly reception and what a wonderfully whimsical place. The location is fabulous: you can’t see another property, just rolling hills of sheep (the friendliest photobombing sheep I’ve ever come across!), chickens, cows, horses… and the dogs are such a sweet, quiet presence too. Beds are luxurious and the whole house is super cosy with a fab little private garden. A real gem! Would definitely return.

This flat provided us with a perfect base for our walking holiday in Dorset. West Bay was a delight, lots of places to eat delicious seafood, and excellent breakfasts. We were there outside main holiday times and imagine it will get much busier. Flat was up 48 stairs, which kept us fit, but delightful clean modern space & we felt very comfortable and relaxed. Highly recommended.

Great little flat in central Swanage. Everything was as expected, very clean and comfortable and we appreciated the kind gesture of little chocolates on arrival. We liked being so close to the sea/beach and some great coastal walks. There were plenty of pubs, restaurants and cafes to choose from and it is only a very short drive to Studland which is one of our favourite spots. Unfortunately our walking satnav took us to an alley behind the property which was a bit grim but once we found the main entrance everything was fine. Only downside for me was I didn’t sleep a wink, so much street noise and constant shop deliveries in the early hours. There was absolutely no way we could have the window open so it was a bit stuffy, also the blind let the light in. This isn’t any fault of the host or flat, I’m just a light sleeper and used to rural living. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you ☺️

Amy's cottage is just as advertised , location is perfect, right on the river beach, its easy to find, and just a short walk from train station. The shops and several little cafes , bakeries and pubs, are all within a short stroll , many are dog friendly. Amy's cottage has everything you could need and its all very clean cosy and comfortable .Amy was quick to answer my queries and gave me good directions for getting there. Thank you for a lovely seaside break , me and my little dog would love to stay again .

Beer is certainly worth a visit, a beautiful village on the coast with stunning scenery in all directions. Nikki and Chris's cottage is comfortable, welcoming and convenient for the area with private off-street parking. Communication was excellent throughout with local tips and knowledge. Would certainly recommend their property.

I would fully recommend this place,great location near all the shops and restaurants a great base in which to explore near by places along the jurassic coast.

Serendipity is a lovely house with stunning views. Marks has designed and refurbished his house beautifully and very much with his guests in mind. The downstairs is spacious with a very large table so we as a party of nine could sit all together or in separate groups inside and outside. Well done to Mark. He is a very considerate and welcoming host.

A beautiful place in a perfect location next to the beach in Lyme Regis. Tristan was a great host and we would couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Big house and garden in great location. Very clean and everything in working order, shower very powerful. Perfect location to walk to beach. Kate was very responsive and accommodating.

Beautiful, light, airy and comfortable home in a perfect location for us. Everything you need in the kitchen for cooking with. V comfy bed! It was lovely and peaceful but just a quick drive to Hive Beach/Burton Bradstock/Bridport . 5 min walk down the road to a lovely local farm shop and The Parlour restaurant for good food and cider made on the farm. Alison was very friendly and gave some good recommendations in the welcome pack.

What a wonderful break of journey, great hosts and a wonderful location, the cottage felt so homely and meeting Emily and Mike was like catching up with old friends, very relaxed and very helpful, we shall certainly be going back in the very near future. Lots of amenities within walking distance or a short drive and the town has a really friendly atmosphere. Great mixed street market twice a week, you name it they sell it, great bargains to be had. We actually stayed twice once on the way down to Cornwall and then again on the way back, we did regret booking several days in Cornwall on reflection we would have been happier staying at the cottage in Bridport.

A great location, incredible view from the bed of the pier and sea. Very nice and clean flat. Comfortable firm bed. Great shower and well equipped kitchen. 5 minute walk to the beach and Flamingo is a really nice and reasonably priced cafe/restaurant in between the beach and apartment. Very helpful and nice hosts. Would recommend every time and we will be going back again in the summer.

Clean and well maintained. Fabulous location, right on the esplanade. Excellent mattresses. West Bay itself; we were worried about the caravan park and that this can generate constant nagging from the kids about sweets, arcades and plastic tat, but there was none of this. It’s a little harbour (good crabbing), a beach and coastal walks with a few ice cream and food options. This week the beach generated very strong waves that were not suitable for younger children, my 11 and 14 yr olds loved it. “Rise” restaurant was superb.

Mark the host very helpful and Sue friendly and full of local info. Got to say after using AB&B for a few years this is one of the most attractive and comfortable we have stayed at. We spent a few days cycling and relaxing, local bus service conveniently available adjacent to the apartment. Local pubs a bit of a walk but food and drinks available at both. Look forward to staying again.

Our second stay here and it won’t be our last ! Very spacious, extremely comfortable and sparkling clean.Everything thing works extremely well. Fab kitchen with everything you need. Comfortable furniture and easy to use TV. Enormous comfortable bed and very user friendly bathroom. Definitely not exclusively for people with access problems but for my husband in a mobility scooter it was perfect. Easy and safe parking and perfect location. Are you getting the vibes that we liked it ! We are looking forward to coming back ! 😀😀

Beautiful location, cute loft. It's a lovely 50 min walk via a field and river walk into Lyme Regis. Definitely recommend this way rather than the road as that's hard work. Don't rely on buses or taxis unless you've booked. The facilities in the loft are plentiful and it was a lovely place to sit and read on the decked balcony. The mattress and pillows are the most comfortable I have ever experienced! Unfortunately, the bed was so low with my painful legs/knee surgery, I needed help to get out which was a bit of a nuisance for mid night bathroom trips. Sofa also lie but sat on a cushion and managed ok. lots of people mention the ceiling height, my husband is 6 foot and managed fine, yes it's a bent shuffle down the side of the bed but manageable. All in all a lovely peaceful weekend with some great nights sleep. Beware, if you are thinking of using the local pub (5 mins walk), lovely place to sit out the back bit they weren't doing food and also weren't open Sunday evening.

The flat was great and very roomy, all of the rooms had been done out to a high standard. Mark and Gemma were very helpful and responded very quickly. Facilities I were as advertised and to a high standard. The driveway was steep so take it slow but plenty of room to turn around as going backwards was not recommended but Mark. But plenty of space for our estate car.

Perfect location! Amazing seaside views, really enjoyed watching the waves and people watching from the comfort of the sofa/bedroom. Kitchen well stocked and lovely touch of bread, milk, jam and biscuits for breakfast the next day. The sofa bed was really comfy for our two children, and plenty of space for our family of four. Super clear instructions to enter, and the parking permit was a huge plus! Really enjoyed our stay!
