Family-friendly vacation rentals in South San Jose Hills

Yan’s place was exactly what we needed for a big family resting place. The expectations of the place were well communicated and friendly reminders were plastered all around the house to refer to on our last night and morning. Everyone had a great time, there was a point of great discomfort for me but after speaking with Yan, she assured me of a speedy solution.

Jamie and Chuck were great hosts! They were super nice and friendly our whole visit. They were sure to let us know we could contact them about any issues or questions. The place is in a great location, there’s a lot of restaurants nearby and Universal Studios is less than 10mins away. They also let us use their drive way as parking which was great!

Such a beautiful unexpected oasis. The neighborhood has a really authentic Los Angeles vibe. Your just about 8 minute drive from a hopping vibrant street scene. Loved it.

This was one of the best AirBnb's I have stayed at. Jan was friendly and left several extra ammenities inside the home. The location was in a safe and walkable location. The outside seating areas were inviting and relaxing. My stay was very enjoyable and I will be returning when I am in the area again.

Lovely stay, exactly as pictured! Clean, spacious, and fit all 5 of us perfectly. The neighborhood is so pretty, we kept admiring it on our walks. Our main purpose of the trip was Disneyland, so we were happy the house was about a 30 minute walk away, but honestly seemed shorter. Whitney was a great host, super responsive. Was quick to send help when we were having trouble using the outside grill! Would happily stay here again.

This was the best Airbnb I have stayed in yet! ... and I travel quite a bit! ... it is part of my job...as well as hobby! From check in to check out...the home itself...the pool and spa...the items provided...the attentiveness of Jorgen...simply a complete 5 star experience! I will be returning in the future! Host was very communicative but not invasive. Felt right at home and has everything you would need, like staying at a friend’s house. Beds were great. Loved the front deck - so peaceful with comfortable furniture, lush greenery, and great view. Spent most of our time out there. One caveat, to get the great views in the middle of the city, you have to climb. We did not have a problem with it and we are not particularly young or super fit, but if you struggle with stairs at all, definitely not the place for you. And keep in mind that anything you bring (luggage, groceries, etc) will need to be taken up a single narrow staircase (roughly the height of 1.5 floors) so maybe not a good choice if you don’t travel light. We would stay again.

Judy's home was great. Had a ton of kid friendly items, my toddler loved the backyard! Loved the full size crib and toddler bed! The hot tub was great after a long Disney day and the close proximity to the parks was awesome. Judy was super responsive and had a ton of information posted in the home for those not familiar with the area. Would stay again.

Adele’s place was wonderful, including a super comfortable bed and luxurious bath. We appreciated the cleanliness and all the little extras like the full-length mirror at the end of the hall (we had some formal events to attend). Adele was very friendly and made us feel right at home. Will definitely stay again!

Tony and Shelly's "Orange Slice" was excellent. The space was the perfect size. Accommodations were comfortable and the outside space was beautiful and relaxing. Tony and Shelly were very responsive when we had questions and very generous hosts. I would recommend this space to others. We had a great experience!

Tamryn's place exceeded my expectations in every way. The pictures were accurate, and yet somehow did not do justice to just how special the apartment or its surroundings are! There were many thoughtful touches throughout: there was ground coffee, half and half, Greek yogurt and granola available in the fridge for breakfast, hand lotion and sunscreen available in the bathroom, and it seemed that the linens had been washed in scentless detergent, which I really appreciate because I'm super sensitive to soaps and scents. The apartment itself was surprisingly spacious, with a full-size bathroom and cute kitchenette and dining table overlooking their gardens. It was perfect for a weekend stay and I found myself wishing I could stay even longer. Many thanks to Tamryn and her family for the comfortable and well-appointed guest suite!

Kristin and Richard went above and beyond to create a welcoming and peaceful environment. They are both extremely nice and welcomed me personally, even giving me fresh eggs from their chicken coop. The studio is very cute and has everything you could possibly need for your stay. I've never seen an AirBnB kitchen so well stocked!

This place was such a gem! Got to meet the hosts and they were so sweet and and helpful. If you're anywhere near Ocean Ave for the weekend and need a peaceful little oasis, this is your spot! Comfortable, inviting place once you walk in and such a convenient walk to downtown area. Will definitely be booking again!

Anna was so sweet. People do rent out the front house, so only twice was parking a little eh, but the place and Anna were great! Super easy to get to with her instructions. She was easy to communicate with. Would highly recommend

Jin’s instructions were very helpful and they were very responsive when I had questions. The place was very nice, clean, quiet, with lots of bird song. The neighborhood is lovely, very walkable with good restaurants, coffeehouses, and a Trader Joe’s. The Metro is 1/2 mile away which will take you downtown so no driving. Would definitely stay there again.

This house was great for our family. We felt comfortable letting the baby crawl around here, and the kitchen and eating area were a good size for 3 generations of people. There was a nice supply of children's toys and books too. Suzy is a good communicator and did everything she could to accommodate our needs. I will note that we underestimated our ability to walk 1.7 miles to and from the Disney property on top of walking the park. We ended up driving to Disney even though it was close. Uber is also a good option. Also, we paid to have the pool heated, but the outside temp was in the low 70's while we were there and it was still chilly. So it made for some expensive swimming. My recommendation is to really consider how much time you will be at the house, and be realistic about your tolerance for the temperatures.

Charlotte's place has a lot going for it in terms of location, view, spaciousness, style and quiet. Fantastic for a family as the picture windows look right out at the pool (with a gorgeous view of the canyon beyond that). Charlotte was very considerate.

Michael and Laura were fabulous hosts. Before I checked in, they sent me a message asking about my favorite drink -- so that they could have it waiting for me! I felt like I arrived to a secret garden, with a darling welcome sign at the front door. The entrance feels fully private and the area is so quiet. The space is thoughtfully stocked, with everything I needed for cooking, showering, sleeping, relaxing. Michael checked in to see that I had everything I needed and was quick to respond when I texted about best walkable grocery stores or scenic walks. They are a perfect combination of warm and attentive, while also respecting privacy. This is my favorite Airbnb I've ever stayed. And I hope to come back again! Seriously cannot thank them enough for a wonderful time and for sharing their incredible space with me! Hugs to you both -- fabulous job!

Their house is incredible, they were very fast to respond to all inquiries, we desperately needed a crib and they came over to put one together for us. Janet welcomed us into her home and was amazing. The cottage was nothing short of perfection, her responsiveness and willingness to accommodate for our group was impeccable. I cannot wait for a second opportunity to share space with her.

My family stayed at Krysta’s home for nights during our trip to Disneyland. Krysta was super responsive and proactive in her communications. She reached out ahead of the time to help arrange our arrival and was there to help us settle in. The house had everything we needed to be comfortable, and it was very clean! The neighborhood was clean and safe, with a children’s playground just right outside. The drive to Disneyland parks and disney downtown area was only 10 minutes and super easy. I highly recommend Krysta and her home to anyone looking to visit Disney!

We absolutely loved this house! it was very well equipped, super clean, very comfortable. Eric responded immediately to the 1 little problem we had and came and fixed it right away. the littles (and the grown ups) really enjoyed the pool and toys, both inside and out, and just over all this was a wonderful very comfortable place for my family of 9. The coffee bar in the kitchen was top notch, and an unexpected surprise. There were strollers in the garage for us to use as well. i can't say enough good things about our stay, all of the little "extra" things really made a difference! We will be booking this house (if available) for all of our future trips. Thank you so much Eric for sharing your awesome house with us!
