Cozy Cabin in Volcano Village

LauraRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This house is just as tranquil and majestic as it looks in the photos. We loved falling asleep to the sounds of frogs and birds, drinking our coffee outside in the morning in a jungle oasis, and dipping in the hot tub in the afternoon. It’s a short drive to Volcano National Park and was the perfect home base while we were explored the area. We will definitely come back and would recommend to all!
The exterior of a charming A-frame cabin is shown, featuring a red front door and two windows with shutters. Surrounded by lush greenery and trees, a small set of stairs leads up to the entrance, inviting guests to explore the interior.

A-Frame Hale Nene with Hot Tub

AlexandruRating, 5 stars3 days ago
The only thing that made me uncomfortable was the shower drain button. Water kept accumulating, and I had to keep pressing the button constantly to let it drain. But that’s an easy fix. Everything else was absolutely 5 stars—thank you so much for hosting!

Cozy jungle 2-bedroom cabin

EthanRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Very unique experience. You are actually right in a jungle. With that you have some animals, insects, and noise. We had a small mishap with the ceiling when we first arrived but the hosts quickly took care of it and upgraded our rooms. The jungle rooms are a bit louder at night with the frogs and smaller compared to the other sites in the facility. Overall cool place and great hosts

Tropical Spa Getaway Cabin 2

ColtonRating, 5 stars1 week ago
5 STARS 5 STARS 5 STARS!!! My girlfriend and I went here for our 1 year anniversary and it was pure bliss. Far enough away from the city so you can have your own peace and comfort but close enough to drive wherever on the island. We loved the solitude of the location and the soothing sounds of rain, frogs, and birds surrounding the place. This place is a gem! To add, Malie was very responsive before, during, and after the process! Super helpful with great suggestions and clear instructions. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay and experience!

As Seen on HGTV: Halé Sweet Halé (2mi from VNP)

MeaganRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Lorena's place here was a little sanctuary for us to retreat back to after venturing all over the different trails near the volcano (maybe a 10-15 minute drive to most of the areas you'd want to see). While I'd definitely suggest not driving in a sedan to her home (the roads were a bit bumpy), it was nice and secluded and the trek into the neighborhood truly added to the feeling of being immersed in nature. The house was clean, looked as expected, and we loved the hot tub to relax our muscles after the long hikes. The hot tub was really clean and obviously well maintained. I also appreciated Lorena reaching out multiple times with instructions and the address to make sure we got there safely. Thanks Lorena!
The cabin is nestled among tropical foliage, featuring a covered patio with a wooden deck. A table and chairs are positioned under the shelter, and large windows offer views of the surrounding jungle. The entrance boasts a sliding glass door, blending indoor and outdoor elements.

Enjoyed our stay in Cabin 6, it had everything we needed for trip to the island. Short drive to VNP and other Hilo. Birds are quite vocal through the night but that’s just a part of staying off the beaten path.
The cozy interior of the bungalow features bamboo walls and a spacious bed with crisp white bedding. Natural light is allowed in through the window, while a lamp and decorative elements reflect Hawaiian culture.

Digital Detox, Body-Positive Eco Retreat Center #2

Molly JeanRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We are so happy we discovered this hidden gem and will definitely be returning! It was the most incredible place we have stayed on the big islands: a perfect mixture between luxurious and natural! The pool front bungalows are pristine, comfortable and clean and are on an amazing pool deck which is like a huge tree house built in and around a vast forest of endemic Ohia trees! The pool deck features a pool, hot tub, rain showers, clean bathrooms, shared kitchen and a lounge area with many tranquil areas to relax and enjoy the forest. Drinking my morning tea in the hot tub, I saw several native birds flying among the Ohia trees! I highly recommend this place for people of all ages! My children loved it and enjoyed the freedom of not having to wear swim suits! Hosts were responsive and flexible and very accommodating!
Two A-frame cabins are surrounded by well-maintained greenery and native trees, featuring inviting entryways and decks. A pathway made of stepping stones leads to the front doors, set against a backdrop of bright blue sky and soft clouds.

Probably one of the best Airbnb ever!! The place is just amazing, you can really tell that it was created with love and attention to details! Al is the best host, he was super fast in answering to all our questions and helping us with a small problem we had. Definitely a place to stay! Highly highly highly recommend !!!

NEW!Off-Grid Cabin w/ALL U Need 8min 2 Beaches&MOR

MatthewRating, 5 stars1 week ago
An off grid location in a peaceful and natural island setting with beautiful kitchen and bathroom. Only 10 minutes from either beautiful sites on the south coast or shops and provisions in Pahoa. Our boys loved the separate bunk building with two beds. Our group of five used alot of water but we only ran out one time. We let the host know and a refill was promptly ordered and waiting for us upon our return from the days activities. If you need communications, an AT&T network phone worked for us..(Pre-paid phones can be found at Walmart) Our group used alot of power, but the solar/battery system kept up well concidering. A group with reasonable power needs should have no problems with power availability. If you rely on a CPAP or simular device, a backup battery may be advisable to avoid interuption. Note that the nearby black sand beach is very beautiful but is a "Clothing Optional" beach. This place is at at the top of my list if I return to the east side of the Big Island.
A shaded outdoor seating area features a round table with two chairs beneath a large umbrella. Surrounding greenery and tropical plants create a tranquil backdrop, with sunlight filtering through the leaves, enhancing the serene environment.

Majestic tree garden cabin with outdoor kitchen

RobertoRating, 5 stars2 months ago
I had a great stay at Ben and Katherine's property. The photos do not do it justice - it's tucked in the forest farms yet not far from the main road. The outside is lit up at night with plenty of solar lights through the evening and plenty of lighting inside as well. The cabin has EVERYTHING. Hot water, electricity, BBQ grill, a nice big sink by the grill for dishes and pans. The bathroom was super cool! Although it's open air, it does have two walls and a ceiling but the open area faces away from the road and into the forest for privacy. In the afternoon you can shower in the sunlight. Their son does an excellent job with the upkeep and the details throughout make you feel right at home. Communication was excellent and they were very responsive. If you want a quiet place to wind down to and wake up to close to volcano or even Hilo, this is it! I highly recommend and I look forward to coming back 😎
A cozy interior showcases a spacious bed with soft grey bedding. A wooden table and chairs are positioned nearby. Natural light filters through sheer curtains, and the bamboo wall adds a warm texture, creating a serene atmosphere for relaxation.

Off-Grid Lava Cabin Retreat

JuliaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Beautiful location at what feels like the end of the world. We slept well and enjoyed both the sounds of nature and the beautiful and unique surroundings. While there are plenty of neighbors in the community, everyone seems to keep to themselves. It was extremely quiet and enjoyable. The firepit in the pictures is not operable, which we found out after booking and really the only downfall for an otherwise great stay. A rental vehicle is required to get there and we were grateful to have rented an SUV. Highly recommended as the roads are rock/gravel with some small hills and quite the drive, but the closest town is about 15 minutes and will have anything else you need. Bring drinking water! The pictures do the cabin justice; it is open air but well maintained, comfortable, and worth the stay. Overall very good experience!

Holly's place was exactly as described. The photos do not do it justice. Sitting on the patio at night in the hot tub or next to the beautiful firepit was extremely relaxing looking out to the tropical forest listening to the coquis exceeded all expectations. I also picked up several fantastic ideas for our upcoming home in the same area. Their home was beautiful and extremely well built and planned.

Makoa Kabin

KarlaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
I loved going to sleep to the frog chorus. and waking up to the chickens clucking. The jungle-like surroundings are beautiful, and it's very tranquil. I was a bit unsure after reading an earlier review that said there were bugs and the hosts were difficult. I'm glad I read all of the positive comments from other guests and stayed there anyway. I found it very clean, and didn't have any "roommates" or other issues. The hostess was sweet and very available. I will come back to this lovely spot.

This property is absolutely stunning! You have the place to yourself on private property. The sunrises are spectacular & the night skies through the full windows upstairs and just breathtaking! We could see shooting starts. The house is very comfortable & functional. We enjoyed some citrus on the property & the sheep. The swimming spot was absolutely perfect! The trail down was doable & the ropes definitely help. This is a private swimming hole to yourself, we really enjoyed it! I highly recommend & will definitely be booking again in the future! Ashley’s mom greeted us to & gave us a great introduction.

Kilauea Cabin

TedRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Great location next to Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. You can walk about 1.5 miles and be standing on the rim of an active volcano or take a 5-minute or so drive to park and walk to the various viewpoints along the rim. Watching the birds on the deck was a definite plus. If you wake up around sunrise - don't bring an alarm clock. The roosters in the area will tell you when the sun starts to rise. The Wi-Fi/internet connection was slow and at times spotty. We were still able to do a little work (usually work a few days during our stays in vacation rentals). If it's not raining around sunset, try to get a clear view of Mauna Loa and you will be able to see almost the full volcano and an amazing sunset. Speaking of Mauna Loa, highly recommend taking the winding Mauna Loa road to its end. It's only 11.5 miles but about 3/4th of that distance is either 25 mph or 15 mph - so it takes about 45 minutes. Stop and walk around the various Kapuki along the way - well worth it!

This was the perfect place for my sister’s wedding weekend! There was enough room for the wedding party to get ready without the bride and groom seeing each other so that was perfect. The caretaker, Doug, was so so nice and he made the entire weekend that much better. Everyone loved talking to him. An overall great place!
