Cottage vacation rentals in Sorn

Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away, even though it was raining most of the time. We loved the location on the river especially when sat in the hot tub relaxing.

Lovely time with family at this great cottage. We had never been to this part of Scotland before and Penpont was a very convenient base to explore from. The cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable stay for four adults - we loved the log fire and the hot tub! The kitchen is well equipped for self catering and the beds are comfortable. An excellent place to stay for small groups.

This is my second time staying here and I’m already planning my return. This is the most beautiful and peaceful place imaginable. Everything about the interior is perfectly appointed. The location is perfect for a quiet getaway but also so close to many cultural attractions. The farm shops nearby serve delicious food too. Highly recommend for anyone considering this place!

Our stay at Laura's house was incredible. She provided everything we needed and more. We had our 1yr and 3yr with us and she had a toy for them, provided a high chair and bath seat along with the cot we requested. The house was so clean and beautiful, everything was perfect! Loved being surrounded by farm land, you can see Wallace Monument from the back of the house. The back patio is fenced in so our boys could play safely. We loved the hot tub! What a bonus! Laura responded to every message immediately, she had a welcome basket of food and champagne for us, she was so helpful and accommodating. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Lovely place. Accurate pictures, though when you get there it feels even nicer than photos can show. Very friendly and responsive. Sometimes it can be quite a vulnerable experience travelling as an LGBTQIA+ couple, but here we felt welcome and safe. Hope to visit again with friends and family.

Our stay at The Stables was heaven. Paul welcomed us and showed us around and had even set up the hot tub for us arriving. The house was immaculate with everything you could possibly need and beautifully decorated too. We loved the Bluetooth mirror in the bathroom. The garden was beautiful and so peaceful and our two dogs loved it, it was completely secure for them which meant we could relax. The view from the garden and the location were wonderful, it was just what we needed. We didn’t want to leave and would love to come back sometime soon. Thank you for being wonderful hosts and for our cheeseboard and Prosecco it was such a thoughtful touch.

Wonderful stay. The location is absolutely superb. What amazing views and so peaceful and remote. Sitting in the hot tub looking out over the hills was pure bliss!! And the stars you could see on a clear night, wow. Despite being so remote it’s close enough to Edinburgh that you can drive in and do all the attractions. So just perfect. Kylie was a fab host too, leaving Easter eggs for the kids and letting the kids feed her kunekune pig one day! The animals are great, especially Karen then hen, although she will come inside if allowed haha! All in all, we had a fantastic stay. Thank you Kylie

We had an absolutely lovely time at Ali's place. Spacious, clean and very comfortable. Hot tub and garnden really make the place with stunning views. Easy access to Edinburgh by train and car and also the Fife coastal path. We loved it! would be very happy to return again one day. Ali was the perfect host.

Had a great stay here, everything was here that I needed, my dogs were also very well catered for. I had to change the plans a couple of times and Anne was very responsive and very helpful. Would 100% recommend this little apartment, it was small but perfectly formed with a quaint little courtyard. Love it.

Stunning cottage with a real home from home feel. The cottage was very clean on arrival and check in was a breeze. The artwork inside was particularly special to look at. Hope to be back.

This was the most incredibly beautiful property in a stunning location. Pier Cottage is so private and peaceful with views over Loch Striven where you can sit and relax whilst watching the array of wildlife around you or take the kayak out on the loch. The cottage was extremely comfortable and well appointment with everything you would need for you stay. If you are looking for somewhere to unplug from the world and completely relax - this is the ideal place.

We absolutely fell in love with the place. The cottage was warm, cosy, and had everything one needed. I travelled with my granny, daughter and my dog Bailey and we all settled down quickly, it was like being at home. But it wasn't only about the cottage and the lovely host; it was also about the location. The cottage is located just outside of Drymen, a lovely little village with very kind people. I do recommend it to anyone who's looking for a country getaway and who wants an unforgettable stay.

We had another wonderful stay at Lindsay’s cottage. Lindsay was extremely helpful and quick to respond. We enjoyed cosying up when the weather was bad and just appreciated the peace and quiet. The girls and the dogs loved running around the secure garden and we had the added bonus of seeing some lambs on the hill. We’ll hopefully be back again soon.

The cottage was excellent Linda was very friendly the village doesn’t have anything in it bar a hotel and shop but it’s really good for dog walking which was what we were after. Highly recommend if you want it quiet

Had a lovely stay at the byre. Nice property and very central to be able to travel around for great woodland dog walks and exploring the lovely small towns. Such a beautiful part of the country.

Excellent modern cottage on the outskirts of Gatehouse of Fleet, in the hills up to Galloway forest. A great retreat for quietness and to get away from it all. The hosts are excellent, this being on a farm it was nice to see the animals. Would love to be back someday. Enjoyed having 7 days of sun sitting on that patio.

We loved Fairy Cottage's location, very peaceful, but there is lots to do in the surrounding area and it's very close to Lochside where we were attending a wedding reception. Hugh was so helpful and friendly - nothing too much trouble. He greeted us when we arrived and showed us around. The cottage is beautifully decorated and has everything you could possibly need for a stay in this area. We only wished that we could have stayed longer - we were there for just 1 night. Angela had left us some little cakes which were much appreciated by us with a cup of tea after our 5 hour jorney from Lancashire after delays on the M6. The house was warm and comfortable with everything we needed. We appreciated the Christmas tree and decorations which made it feel especially welcoming. It is in a scenic and peaceful area with some interesting places to explore nearby. The conservatory and garden would make it an ideal place to visit in the summer. We would certainly recommend this property.

Nothing short of amazing! A nature lover’s paradise (even with the Scottish weather). Got dry weather for an hour one morning haha so had a lovely breakfast in the garden. Met two tiny (literally newborn) lambs in the field next to us! All wobbly on their feet. So cute!! Friendly hosts, very clean and well decorated.
