Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Shipton-under-Wychwood

Such a lovely place. Sadly, I only had a couple of nights and one day to really enjoy it, but I immediately looked to re-book upon departing, and although the dates I looked at did not work, I will definitely return. Joe was really friendly and helpful. The house is lovely, well-designed and thought through with plenty of space. The weather was a bit damp, but otherwise we would have also thoroughly enjoyed the lovely garden with its seated areas and hot tub. Many thanks for a lovely break

We stayed at Acre Lodge over the late May bank holiday and it was brilliant. The lodge is clean, well laid out and with all the amenities and equipment you need for a restful stay. The fixtures and fittings are all great quality and the hot tub is good fun. The Mason Arms is a five minute walk away and a fantastic pub for food, service and atmosphere. Janet was a great host, and we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend!

Modern apartment 10 minute walk from shops and restaurants. Street parking wasn’t a challenge. Communication with host was ok. We had a problem with the shower drain, and they fixed it within a few hours. Everything works properly. Bed was comfortable, but as with all airbnbs in UK/Europe, a bit small by US standards. The bathroom was cramped, and the shower was tiny. Seniors might find the shower a challenge. The stairs to the bedroom were narrow. Not difficult for climbing alone, but a bit of a challenge with luggage. In June with temps of about 18 degrees Celsius, the bedroom was comfortable despite lacking air conditioning, but I’m not sure how it would be in the heat, if it ever did get hot in the UK! In short, the place might pose challenges for seniors but is a good option for others.

Beautiful home! Absolutely loved staying here. The grounds were so gorgeous and the property was 5 star hotel standard. It’s not often that you stay somewhere that the beds are comfier than your own and these were. They had thought of every little detail. Couldn’t recommend more.

We loved the cottage and location to the town. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Only drawback was the access. Was a choice of parking in an alley which already had a car parked in it on our arrival.....and the road had double yellow lines so that was out. So we parked round the back of the propety but had to go up about 20 steps to get our luggage up. This was hard for us as I'm an astmatic and we are both elderly. Other than that it was perfect.

Peglars barn was a truly beautiful place to stay. We visited for 2 days and it wasn’t long enough. The moment you walk through the doors the backdrop is jaw dropping and it doesn’t get old! I chose peglars barn as a place to propose to my now fiancé and it was perfect. Thank you Sophie for being a great host!

We loved our stay in the barn. It was in a great location, only a short drive away from the main Cotswold towns. The barn was spotless, and very peaceful. We loved the private garden. Would recommend staying here to anyone who wants a quiet country getaway.

Great communication and lovely house near the outdoor heated swimming pool, tennis courts and sauna

Ann's place is incredible- stayed for two nights and there is everything you could possibly need or anticipate in the house. We had a great time - the pool and hot tub were very clean and the house was perfect! Ann was extremely responsive and helpful. Would absolutely book again!

We spent 6 days at Rob’s place with our 3 children. The weather was not our friend but the onsite swimming pool meant we still had a fabulous time. The hot tub was a great addition to the property. The cottage had plenty of room for us all & the spa facilities were fantastic. Great location as well, we had a lovely morning wandering around Cirencester. Rob was super helpful. We used 2 of the recommended places to eat & both were fantastic options. Lovely stay!

Beautiful peaceful spot in the Cotswold countryside. The cottage is spacious and well equipped with great walks straight from the door. The pool was such a fantastic asset and really added to our holiday.

We had a great stay at the barn, celebrating a big birthday. There were 6 adults staying and we were all extremely comfortable. Mike and Joan were very hospitable, generous and responsive. The barn is as fabulous as the photos suggest. The views are amazing. The pool is wonderful. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay. We very much hope to return.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely location. Easy walk to the pub across the fields and a lovely owner who was very responsive and willing to share her dogs with our children! Pool is a fab bonus and location is great for local villages and attractions, such as the Cotswold Wildlife Park. We didn’t want to leave and have already re booked!

Great stay with the family at Chris & Alexandra’s. Great cottage exactly as described and located in a lovely gated community. Comfortably housed 6 adults and 2 toddlers. We benefited from clear and detailed instructions both for finding the place and staying in it. The hosts responded promptly to any questions we had. Would highly recommend the place for family stays!

A beautiful barn conversion in lovely grounds with lots of facilities, with thoughtful and helpful hosts. It was a fabulous long weekend and we didn’t need to leave the grounds to be entertained throughout, from in the pool to playing pool, it was all we could ask for.

We loved the location where we stayed and the property , Piers was a lovely host who knew the area really well had good chat with him and he gave good recommendations of nice places to eat . It was nice to have the breakfast things left . Will stay again in the future .

Great host and accommodation, everything was perfect for a stopover between the Cotswolds and Oxford.

This was a little slice of heaven in the most gorgeous little village. The cottage was stunning and the interiors were gorgeous-but also felt very homely and comfy, Clare was an amazing host, leaving clear instructions and lots of lovely recos (we loved the white horse full of local characters and within walking distance and the quince and clover was fab). We would def be back and would highly recommend!

The cottage was beautiful and the surrounding areas. The countryside is so scenic! It will take your breath away! Check in was very smooth, and the cottage is beautifully designed! I felt right at home as soon as I stepped in! The bed was comfy. The pressure on the shower was amazing, and let’s not forget the bath! Overall an amazing stay. Wish we stayed for longer! We will definitely be back! Thank you. You have a wonderful place you should be proud of yourself 😊

We had a great time staying here. It was nice and quiet and a very pleasant enclosed courtyard. The cottage was spotless Louisa left us a lovely welcome gift which was a lovely surprise. We didn’t want to leave! Witney is a good centre to see the Cotswolds and we also enjoyed exploring the town with a good range of shops. We also had a visit to The Farmer’s Dog pub having made a reservation - great experience and good food! Hopefully we will be back again soon!

Great property, exactly as described. We had beautiful weather, so we were able to take full advantage of all the outdoor facilities.

If Amber Cottage is available for your dates do not hesitate and book quickly you will not regret it. Nicala and Steve are exceptional hosts and their adorable cottage is just perfect, from location to the cottage itself everything is 5 star. The walk into the centre of Stow on the Wold is less than 5 minutes if you don’t get distracted. The cottage is very easy to find with the hosts very clear instructions and photos. The cottage itself is spotlessly clean and so comfortable not to mention quiet and private. Perfect base to discover the beautiful Cotswolds and these Australians really hope to come back one day.
