Sunnyside cottage.

AlasdairRating, 5 stars1 week ago
It worked perfectly for what we needed and was accurately described. Some of the reviews are quite negative about the cleanliness but we thought it was fine. Comfortable and warm. WiFi good. Heated towel rail delightful. Beds comfy.

The Taing - cosy stone built cottage on the beach

HannahRating, 5 stars16 months ago
We loved every second of being at The Taing. We were here five nights for Up Helly Aa and we felt it wasn’t long enough. It’s so peaceful and private, with all the amenities you need. We watched the January storms roll in by the fire and felt very cosy inside. We’d give it 10 stars if we could, we can’t wait to come back!

Hillside Park Studio

NickRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We received a very warm welcome from Gordon and Heather as we visited their Hillside Studio for the second time. The accomodation looks and feels brand new, it’s attractive and spotless, providing everything we needed for a comfortable eleven day stay in Shetland. The studio is ideally situated for access all over Shetland, a great central base for exploring what the island has to offer. It is peacefully situated on a Hillside community of similar properties, with fantastic views and only five minutes from all the facilities of Lerwick. Notwithstanding the new feel that the studio already exudes, Gordon strives to make improvements which will benefit future guests. It’s a great place to stay and we plan to book again for a future holiday!

Wethersta Cottage with a View

HelenRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
My family and I spent a very happy two weeks in Wethersta. The house is very comfortable and had absolutely everything we needed, right down to flasks and lunchboxes in the kitchen for days out with picnics. Carolyn is very friendly and approachable. We didn’t have any queries, but if we had I’m quite sure she would have helped, as communication with her was excellent. The garden is fenced to keep dogs safely in, although we did have to keep our small terrier on a lead outside. The sheep in the adjacent field proved very tempting for her and she would have found a way to wiggle through the stock fencing if we hadn’t, I’m sure! Wethersta is a good location for visiting many parts of the islands and only 10 miles from Toft from where the ferry for the Northern Isles departs. Curlews calling and lambs bleating outside are a lovely soundscape and really made us feel we’d escaped from the everyday. Thank you Carolyn!

Your own space in an historic stone built home.

JeanRating, 5 stars5 days ago
I admit I hadn’t looked at all the information before booking. At the time of booking last year I was just so delighted to find a pet friendly place at a very reasonable price for a solo traveller. I am absolutely delighted that I found Greenvale. Dave and Debbie are fabulous hosts. They gave such valuable information about places to explore and I felt I had my own personal weather forecasters. It’s so important to listen to, and appreciate people with local knowledge. I was grateful to have a comfortable place to relax, especially when waiting for the weather to change. I loved the mystery of breakfasts. They were a real bonus. Debbie is a great chef. I’d happily give 10 stars for breakfasts. My Border Terrier, Ella, was also made to feel very welcome. She and Broonie got on well. Greenvale is unique and I am so pleased I embraced everything about it. I have benefitted in mind and body from staying there. Thank you Dave and Debbie for making my stay so memorable.

Shetland farm cottage close to local beauty spots

MikendaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We really enjoyed our stay here. An easy drive from Lerwick and great to base ourselves further north for a few days, to enjoy more coastal walks. June's place is clean, spacious and warm. Being located on a working farm, we were able to look out of our windows and see the new born lambs with their mothers (it was lambing season at the beginning of May). The area is peaceful and beautiful and June and her dad, Ivor were welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Cozy Seaside Shepherd's Hut - St Ninians Isle

HassanRating, 5 starstoday
Quite simply one of the best places we've stayed. This shepherds hut is luxurious with lots of treats and a very comfortable bed. It's very warm and cosy in the hut. The addition of an electric ring made cooking meals easy. The well equipped gym and bathroom are close by and very clean. The best thing was Yvette, Rachel and Yvette's mom and aunt who all did their best to make us welcome. The views of St Ninian's Isle, the sunset into the sea, and the Shetland ponies are spectacular. It is well located for exploring the southern mainland with lots of good walks nearby. We will definitely be back.
