Vacation rentals with a fireplace in São Miguel Island

Quaint, quiet bliss. Gorgeous surroundings and surrounded by unbelievable birdsong. Sunrise over the ocean. We cooked in the kitchen every night and could have spent days retreating here without leaving the house! Not to mention proximity to so many beautiful outlooks, pools, and waterfalls. If you are looking for a peaceful nostalgic getaway, look no further! They have a variety of cottages so we would love to come back one day and bring our families.

My family and I stayed for a week, they left and then friends joined me for a week - so 2 weeks in all. The pool was cool (it was january) but some did try. The hot tub was fabulous and was enjoyed by everyone. The house is spacious and perfectly clean and tidy with good supplies. The owners and the cleaning service were very helpful and responsive to any messages which was appreciated. The island is wonderful and we loved everywhere we visited.

We had a perfect stay in Vitor's beautiful and spacious house. It is very clean and well equipped with everything you need. Vitor is a wonderful host. Since our flight had a delay we arrived quite late and even got some food from Vitor. It was a great experience and we can fully recommend Vitor's house.

I can't praise this property enough! It's a 5th generation home full of beautiful antiques yet with all the modern amenities. We had tons of space for 4 of us with large bedrooms and bathrooms. It was so nice to hang out by the fireplace in the cozy livingroom - especially on a rainy February night. The property is huge! The gardens are stunning and attended to daily by the loveliest man who doesn't speak a word of English but was a good sport trying to communicate with us - he even brought us fresh oranges one morning! The location is excellent - easy walking distance to several great restaurants, shops, the caldeiras and Parque Terra Nostra. It did take us a couple times around the loop to figure out which house it was - Apple maps was less accurate than Google! But once we found it, we knew we were in heaven! Picking up the keys in Ponta Delgada was easy and communication with the hosts was exceptional. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

We had a great time staying here! São Miguel is such a beautiful island, and the house was perfect for our trip. It’s in a quiet village, about 40 minutes max from all the main spots on the island. The house is an old-style building that’s been nicely renovated — everything was clean and in good shape. There’s a nice backyard too, where you can park your car and have a barbecue. From the windows, you can enjoy ocean views. If you’re looking to get away from the busy city life, this place (and the island itself) is just perfect. Also, Celia is a fantastic host — she always replied quickly and helped us sort out a hot water issue in no time. We definitely recommend staying here!

The pictures do not do this place justice. Absolutely stunning views !!! We also loved the walk to the tide pools. We stayed for a week with our four year old and parents, we had everything we needed. Antonio is so friendly and helpful, if we ever get to come back to Sao Miguel, we will stay here again ❤️❤️ Thank you for a wonderful time !!

Perfect airBnB for visiting Ribeira Grande! Ana & Fernando and their family are amazing hosts. The property has a great balance of privacy, and convenient amenities (like the pool and breakfasts in the chapel). The architecture and landscaping of the property are beautiful. 5/5 experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

We had a lovely stay with João who was a very attentive and proactive host to make sure our stay is comfortable and seamless. The apartment had a splendid view of the ocean and comes with the essentials to have a good time. The view of the boats in the ocean as well as the planes that landed allowed us to occupy our child while we cooked. It was easy for us to walk downtown and enjoy what the city had to offer. Parking on the street was very easy and the market next door offered all the necessities. We had a great time at João's place and would go back again.

We really enjoyed our stay, the apartment is very close to a popular surf spot, it's just 1 minute walk. The apartment is very modern and having the jakuzi on the terrace was a nice experience. The communication with Ryan was very fast, when there was a problem, he helped immediately.

Pierre's place is located in a serene and beautiful location, very quiet. It was a bit hard to find (should have exited Nordeste to the south and only then turn right). Pierre is welcoming and helpful. Car is a must to reach other places on the island.

Marion is a great host, kind, generous and always available. The place was actually even more beautiful than shown in the pictures. We immediately felt comfortable. Very clean and comfortable, large superb yard and very convenient for kids to play. Slightly set back from the city, we loved it for the tranquility and the magnificent view! Perfectly located for visiting every corner of the island. Unbeatable value for money. I recommend it without hesitating!

Antonio was a fabulous host. When we checked in, he had already stocked the kitchen with local specialties - which were delicious. His family’s home is expansive and beautiful. The garden is particularly exquisite. The location is a little outside Capelas which was a good jump off point for the East side of the island and getting into Ponta Delgada. We recommend Antonio’s for your visit to the Azores

This apartment in Ponta Delgada is an excellent choice for a group of six. The place was very clean and well maintained, with all the necessary amenities. The girl who checked us in was very friendly and nice. The location is a really remarkable point, since it is central to be able to visit different areas of the island, which made our daily excursions much easier. 100% recommended!!!

An excellent stay! We really appreciated the great communication with Jose, his local recommendations, and the excellent conditions of the house. The view was amazing, the parking was easy, and the bed was comfortable. Overall a fantastic stay with a great price. Would happily stay here again if we come back!

We would return to this spot in a heartbeat -- excellent location convenient to everything on the island, including local supermarkets and restaurants. Great layout with plenty of space to lounge. Very attentive hosts with helpful suggestions.

We had such a lovely family vacation staying in Maria's place! It was well suited for 7 adults with plenty of room to spread out and relax. The host is very easy to contact and good follow up on any questions that we had during our stay. Check in and check out were also very easy. We loved lounging on the terrace and walking along the shore. We enjoyed many breakfasts together in her well equipped kitchen before venturing out and exploring for the day. Coming home at night, we looked forward to building a cozy fire in the living room while sharing our favorite memories from the day. If returning to Sao Miguel, we'd love to stay at Maria's place again! Obrigada!

Very nice place, from comfy beds to a beautiful living room, we really enjoyed staying in the house! BBQ pit was a great addition - used it almost every night. And it's sooooo quiet! Will be back again!

We couldn't be happier with our stay at Raul's magical home in Furnas! Waking up each morning to those incredible views was enough for a 5-star rating...you could easily spend a week relaxing on the property itself. Add in the fact that it's easy walking distance to some of the best hot springs in Furnas (plus convenient for visiting other parts of the island by car) and you have a recipe for the perfect trip. Raul was a lovely host, so friendly and highly responsive. We would love to go back!

I would definitely recommend Villa Nikau - it's a great place to stay, if you want a peaceful and relaxing stay in the Azores. Ana was a lovely host, the communication was clear, easy and friendly. I would certainly try to book the place again during my next visit to the islands.

Patricia is an exceptional host in every way. She is super nice, responds quickly, is generous with her presence. Everything was perfect and matched the description on the Internet. In fact, the photos don't even do justice to the beauty of the place. The bed is super comfortable, the rooms are large and welcoming, in addition to being "really" well decorated - you'll understand when you're there… In addition to being quiet, this place is close to the lagoons of Sete Cidades, and natural pools. We recommend without hesitation!

It is a gorgeous setting and we all enjoyed our stay. The heaters in the living room and kitchen were not working, and unfortunately couldn’t be repaired during our visit, but the host supplied a temporary space heater for our comfort and was very apologetic about the inconvenience. The washer and dryer were in a separate building and we were shown how to use each. Overall a beautiful stay, and we would recommend to friends.

Magnolia Residence is conveniently located in Pico da Pedra, with easy access to north and south coasts of the island. It is in a quite residential neighborhood, which makes it a perfect home away from home. João is a gracious host, super responsive and checked in on us a few times during our stay, including warning us about the weather. The layout of the house is ideal for family or groups, where everyone can get their own room, bathroom and privacy. Highly recommend if you are looking for a restful, spacious, and well equipped sanctuary on the island!
