Family-friendly vacation rentals in Sandy River

Loved the place I would go back again. Would love to go back when it is warmer so we could enjoy sitting out back on the deck and listening to the river. Couple of things to keep in mind. It tells you that they will give you a bundle of wood but if you want to start a fire in the fireplace for each day you are there you will definitely need to bring your own wood. The internet is very spotty. Tried watching Netflix and it would stop on us to look for internet service again. We had a hard time figuring out the TV and what remote to use to get to Netflix and so forth. They do good on giving you directions on how to turn the surround sound on but we didn’t see anything about the TV. There is a road right next to the house and cars drive very fast on it so make sure to watch pets. But again I liked the place.

This place is a gem, for sure! What really stood out to us was that the house felt loved and cared for, in all the best ways. The garden was charming with its ponds and gazebo, and both house and yard made excellent use of space and felt much larger than the square footage would imply. Tabor Bread was an easy walk away and its pastries were delightful. There were many other restaurants in walking distance too. Dallas was an extremely responsive host and made us feel right at home. We would gladly stay here again!

This cabin is amazing! Iflew in from South Dakota to spend time with my adult children, and we LOVED the pizza oven, the hot tub, and the easy location to a grocery store, beautiful hikes, and nice restutants! The fire was going when we arrived! It felt like a mountain retreat!!

We had a very relaxing stay. The cabin is very cozy & just like the photos. The forest surrounding it is beautiful & gives a lot of privacy. The host has thought of everything. The cabin is well stocked with everything needed, & for a rustic mountain cabin, it was nice & clean. We loved the decor. The bed & linens were very comfortable. The host was communicative & helpful. The Skyway Bar & Grill was a great suggestion, we very much enjoyed a dinner there. It’s a little tricky to find, the address from GPS directs you the house on the road infront of the cabin. You have to go further down the road & up a gravel road/driveway, but it wasn’t hard to figure out. Our AWD Tiguan made it up the bumpy/steep driveway just fine. There was lots of trillium blooming, it was beautiful! There was space to fetch our dogs. The hot tub was very clean, hot, well lit & covered from the elements. The proximity to Mt.Hood is great, my husband spent a day there snowboarding. We will book again! Ty!

What a fantastic experience! Melissa is a great host and I could not ask for a better AirBNB. The home was very cute and for me and my girlfriend felt like our own little apartment! It’s got a lot of charm! The only thing that happened was the power went out while we were making dinner, but it was an easy fix! Thank you!

Cozy and private cabin! Felt right at home. Loved the CD's there was to choose from and the board games. Such a great place to get away from the day to day routine and relax.

We enjoyed our family get together. The house was as described. It has 2 levels: main entrance level has 3 bedrooms (one has en-suite, the other 2 have unconnected hallway bathroom). Lower floor has separate bedroom with attached bathroom and the living/game space. There is a large tv in the basement level and another tv in the main living room. We did not spend time outside or in the hot tub. We did use the grill a few times and it worked great. The kitchen is well stocked and even had an air fryer. They did provide coffee which was very nice. There’s a bar that may or may not have liquor (we paid some forward and left a nice old fashion!) The kitchen is really nice. There is a wall between the dining table and the living room so not fully open but definitely open enough for us. We truly enjoyed our stay and definitely felt “at home”!

We had a wonderful stay! This cabin is so beautiful and we felt right at home! Amanda was very responsive and helpful for all questions. The hot tub was spacious and hot! Perfect after a long day of skiing. Cabin is within walking distance to everything in government camp. 10/10 recommend. Might have to stay here again! :) Thank you Amanda!

The Art House perfectly met our needs. From the cozy fireplace to the comfy beds, we felt right at home on this mother-daughter time away. Leah was very responsive and provided a clear balance of privacy and friendliness -- respecting our time alone but inviting us to stop by to say hello should we choose :) We're looking forward to returning with the rest of the family.

Our stay at Andrea's Airbnb was truly exceptional! The space offered all of the comforts of home, a beautifully modern fully equipped kitchen, a luxurious bathroom and a cozy inviting atmosphere. The location could not have been better, close to restaurant's and shops but the apartment's location itself was extremely peaceful. We also really appreciated the thoughtfully prepared notebook, which included everything we needed to know about the apartment and local area. It made settling in and exploring so easy. The hostess was incredibly responsive whenever we had a question or needed anything which made our experience seamless. I can't recommend this beautiful place highly enough!!

We had a lovely three night stay at Bruce's Airbnb. It was just as described and very roomy. The kitchen was the highlight, as we are all avid cooks. It had everything we needed including pots and pans, spices, olive oil, coffee, etc. We cooked up a storm as it was quite rainy while we were there. We enjoyed the gas fireplace and played lots of games at the large kitchen table. The generous hot water and excellent water pressure was much enjoyed after a long XC ski. There was a large deck with both a gas and charcoal grill but we didn't use them because of the weather. Lovely views over the Gorge and Columbia river too!

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Susan and Steve's Casita for an extended stay. They are such kind, friendly, and attentive hosts! The Casita is so comfortable and quiet and you can't beat the location. The Alberta Arts District is a vibrant community with excellent restaurants, art galleries, taphouses and cafes within walking distance. Susan and Steve had excellent recommendations for us on places to go in the area. We highly recommend this accommodation for your next trip!!

Awesome stay at Denny’s place. This is the second time I stayed there because the location is perfect and the apartment is sweet. It is everything you could need for a fun visit to Portland especially if you are a walker! My dog Ozzie gives five stars for the private backyard.

I had a great experience during my four-night stay at Debra and David's home. The house was truly wonderful, making me feel completely at home. It was evident that the house was filled with beautiful memories. Debra was very helpful and attentive to her guests. All the essential amenities, along with some additional comforts, were readily available—everything you could possibly need was provided.

This is a nice and spacious basement apartment of a larger family home located in a beautiful and walkable neighborhood. The owners’ garden is lovely and quiet and there are windows in the apartment for light and fresh air. The shower is powerful and spacious with plenty of hot water. The kitchen had just what we needed, too. Perfect for a couple. Very private and peaceful and walking distance to restaurants. We would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

We have visited many times and continue to find the place and Tracy to be top-notch which is one of the reasons we keep coming back. The place checks all of our boxes for a relaxing, romantic getaway.

We had a great stay at Nedra’s place! We loved the walking path in the back next to the river, it was beautiful and peaceful! We also loved the rock band and spent the bad weather day inside relaxing and playing rock band as a family. Something we never do so it was super fun! There was plenty of food places nearby so we took advantage of that as well as cooked breakfast in the fully stocked kitchen! Beautiful location, fully functional house we would definitely love to stay again!

Julie was a generous host. It was a peaceful place for my family to stay and easy for our local family to come for meals and visit. Every morning we had coffee on the large private deck. We sat on the deck some evenings and enjoyed the fresh air and complete lack of mosquitoes. The two full bathrooms for the five of us were essential. We booked this house to have a great place to stay-in and have local family over but it was also close to many things in Portland. The zoo and the science museum were two of them. Julie was responsive to requests and just a very kind person.

This is the closest you will come to ski-in, ski-out on Mt. Hood; very convenient short walk to the tubing hill and Ski Bowl. I appreciated that the condo was so well stocked with household items that you may have forgotten to bring; foil, plastic wrap, spices, cleaning supplies. Truly, it was the best stocked condo I've ever rented. They also had a wonderful supply of children's toys, sleds, games and even a play area for little ones. We had a great time and many thanks for all the thoughtful and considerate amenities.

We stayed for 5 days at this cute cabin. It was a great home base to easily go find a quick hike and then come back and relax. It was a residential neighborhood, but when you were inside or out on the back deck, it felt very private. At this time of year, during the summer, you can’t really see the river from the house, but you get a view of tall, beautiful trees swaying in the breeze and a beautiful tree covered mountain. Sitting on the deck for morning coffee and evening dinner was our absolute favorite part. The afternoon hours get too hot to be out on the deck, so that was when we went for hikes, stayed inside, read, and played foozball. My boys loved having the video games to play (I took the violent ones out), the air conditioning was awesome, the kitchen was well-stocked, lots of kitchen and bath towels. King bed was so comfortable. There is a loft with 2 beds, one right by the railing, so I wouldn’t recommend having a small child up there. Fooz table was fun! Windows and sliding door could use replacing because it is hard to see out of them and door is so hard to open and close. Place was super cute and we enjoyed our stay very much.
